im so happy that the blues and hawks have quality teams at the same time again. i miss the old blues vs. hawks games of the 90s... belfour, roenick, chelios, etc... those were the days that hooked me. after the hawks stopped making the playoffs the rivalry had cooled off quite a bit. it was almost not even the same anymore, but i see that changing. two young and loaded teams in cities that just dont get along sports wise. there is no doubt these teams are going to battle hard this year.

cant wait to watch Jackman own Kane again :brow:

Can't help it. Born and raised on the north side of town. Even with the Cubs sucking like they normally do there is no finer venue to watch them suck than at the corner of Clark and Addison.

Southsider here, every birthday I can remember was White Sox or Blackhawks. 2clicker - The early/mid 90's Hawks & Blues games were awesome, definitely looking forward to their first reg. season match up.

the sedins are such bitches, but they are way talented. Luongo is incredible and will be able to focus more now that he isnt the Nucks captain. id say the Nucks have a great shot at the top spot in the West and the cup... but fuck that GO BLUES!!!

so the Blues opened up their season last night at home against the Flyers. the Note won 2-1 just over a minute into OT. Halak made 29 saves on 30 shots and looked great. He was the first star of the game.

The Blackhawks lost their opening game. Avalanche won 4-3 in overtime.

The game was good though and my faith in the team this year is still strong.

i watched that game. stastny, stewert, and duschene looked incredible.

i swear players under 25 are taking over the league. look at edmonton... hall and eberle... eberle scored an ovechkin like goal in his first game... and i think one of them score a hat trick in their first NHL game. its the same thing all around the league. this new breed of youngsters mixed with the newer style of play is making for a even more fast paced league.

btw... to any Flyers fans... where was Pronger last night? i was upset to see he was scratched.

Edmonton is surprising it's own city with two wins right off the bat. Nobody can deny Eberle's first NHL goal either! Went to the game last night against Florida. We won but not by much, win is credited to Khabibulin's goaltending. Passing was mediocre at best, the rookies weren't using their speed to their advantage at all. When the Panthers outshoot you 2:1 you know you're playing like shit. But, 4 points is 4 points.

Luongo still has rookies in front of him so he does what he can.
