Temp controlled battery for CCell carts

Thanks alot for the input man, maybe its also more a problem of the air intake on my pens...with one of them drawing is really hard,

Always happy to discuss, especially since this thread is a ghost town and i'm running out of threads to participate in  For me personally it was the more open airflow that really irritated my lungs because I would just automatically default to direct to lung hits, and pulsing with the button helped, but not as much as draw activated with the restriction, I can take short 2-3s puffs mixed with fresh air, and it has made me able to tolerate oil carts again....always mouth pulls to lung.

vaping my rosin/terpene mix with it is pretty awful and tastes burnt...while the EJMix works fine.
With my other pen its the other way round...pretty good with my rosin/terp mix but the Ejuice works a less good.

IMO that's your problem. I tried various distillates, High Terpene Extraction Infused Distillate, a bunch of different thc oils, mixed with various things and in the end now the only thing i'll put in my carts is high quality co2 oil. Gotta be careful with the terps, etc..

.i also ordered a CCell Silo but still dont know if that guy will send out (ebay)...got no msg nor tracking out of him yet..but its only been 4 days..

I absolutely LOVE my Silo! It's my go-to for the C-Nail! :brow: Although that M3 is darn convenient and fun too!

So, as i am also playing around with ccell´s as a holiday solution i
also found out to just have a singe voltage like all the draw only action pens
wont do it for me.

From what i read so far pretty every boxmod battery should work as long as the thread is 510 and
i can dial the voltage/power down far enuf...from what ive read 10W is max. on ccell carts one should go...alright so far so good

i am pretty set on a eleaf stick since i can get it easy/cheap...from what i see plenty power, good battery runtime and starts from 1W or am i wrong somewhere..?

http://www.eleafworld.com/istick-tc40w/

Any mod that goes down to 1w with .1w increments will work well for these carts. I'm using a Joyetech Evic Basic but its started to get a little wonky at reading resistance being a few years old, been thinking of picking up an Eleaf Kiya to replace it as I like these ultra compact mods.

Totally agree with my dude @biohacker that this C-Nail :brow: is the REAL DEAL :rockon:running it through a 5" bubbler, one of the best vapor experiences I've ever had, strong, tasty, smooth, simple, safe, on demand, totally cordless, long battery life, no loading, no cleaning, no vape station. Oh yeah... like the cheapest setup you could buy! I think it blows away Puffco Peaks, Molecules, Sai's, etc. :borg:

So I've ventured into the world of 510 cartridges and batteries. Total game changer for me.

I've been using a version of the iMini called Mist by Kind Pen. "Lifetime Warranty"
https://www.thekindpen.com/product-category/mist/

The carts I have are Kingpen .5 and 1's. I find that I'm usually just using the lowest settings. 2.4v and 2.8v. The 10 second cycle after a double click is nice too, although my instructions say that's a pre-heating function. I have no problems toggling the button as needed while it's concealed in my palm. I think the stealthiness of this setup is the most discreet I've ever had.

I'd be interested in a battery that's a little more rugged. Maybe that takes a 18650 battery. Saw one from iLeaf that looked interesting but no shops around here carry it.

What do you think about the Silo vs Palm?

Other than a slightly different form factor and lesser battery, they're basically twins! Been preferring using the Silo, but I think that could just have to do with its novelty.

EDIT: Just noticed something, the Silo works with the dynavap mouthpiece with TH205's, but not the Palm... the Palm requires a TH210 to be able to mate properly with the water tool due to the differences in height!

That's pretty amazing, such a low voltage battery where 3.2v is max! Sounds up my alley for co2 oil!

Which one was that? Sounds like a very nice battery life! :)

@biohacker - you will like this one with C02 sauce carts

Love the lowest 2.6v setting, green

Swapped cart into Palm with its 3.7, and could feel the warmth and "over done" taste

Love the big thumb button (and I usually hate buttons on these things)

Big battery. Preheat feature is nice with these deliciously cloudy Outco sauce carts

Got it on Ebay, search for Vapmod V-Mod, less than $20 shipped

vapmod-v-mod-with-palm.jpg

Pic on right shows 1g Select cart. Only gave me one of their 4 notched mag connectors. Palm's no notched connector fits, but restricts draw more. Palm magnet stronger too, so needed non-slip gripping help pulling cart back out. Save that V-Mod connector. I'll have to find more, because I've been known to toss them out with a spent cart

Just retired all my CCELL batteries due to that 3.7v and "over done" taste. Gross.

Thanks for the heads up on that low voltage battery for a steal! You're such an asset to this thread!:rockon:

Been wanting to try those OUTCO co2 sauce carts! I love co2 and heard those ones were pretty terpy!

Cool to see you post about the VMOD as I almost hopped on one the other day as I prefer lower voltage hits. Might have to grab one!

co2 mixed with sauce? :mmmm:

It's a newer method - co2 fractional extraction. By adjusting the co2 parameters they can extract the terpenes first, then extract the rest of the plant resin, then combine the two into full spectrum co2 sauce! co2 is really interesting the way it acts like a solvent at supercritical pressure, but doesn't need purging or anything like that. The Outco carts are unwinterized so it should be a very safe and clean extract!

The Pico X

I think I'm gonna go with the Yocan UNI or the Vapmod V-mod (maybe both, lol). I really like batteries where the cart is recessed opposed to screwed in on top. I can't seem to find one that has both a recessed cart hole, and replaceable battery.

I also got my Eleaf TC40w yesterday and it works AWESOME, i just love to be able to dial the temp
to exactly where i want (Cloud densness + flavor) thanks alot for pointing in the right direction :D
This is exactly what i was looking for :)

Next up will rly be getting this thing going with a small rig,
any clue how long one can draw at a certrain wattage without damage..?
As said i saw someone say 10W is max on ccell´sbut for how long..?
Like 5 sek or as long as i can..?
I am at 8.5W now i.E.

The max power depends on the resistance of the cart, I generally use Ccells in the 5-6Watt range, which measures out to something usually between 3-3.5Volts. I wouldn't go much over 3.7v with a Ccell. The viscosity of your oil will affect how long/hot you can hit it to some degree as well. I do whole 10 second power cycles within the voltages I listed but never went to 10w, that sounds pretty high.

And those damn air pockets over the intake holes!

Any tricks to avoid that? Distillate, co2 oil, honey oil, makes no difference with TH2's IME.

Hoping the all ceramic top coil vapor slide cart proves better, especially for bong dabs! :brow:

Thanks @invertedisdead, love you mate...u rly r a treasure chest of vaping knowledge lol ;D

The resistance on my carts reads 1.39-1.40Ohm, voltage is a 3,44V @ 8,5V...raising to 10W my Voltage is at 3,74 :)

This is what i read on reddit

@biohacker

i sometimes have luck with those bubbles when i unscrew the mouthpiece (just enough that air can enter/move outside) while the goo is warm...lets them escape quicker :)

edit.
i went down to 8W now, that lets me draw until the safety shut off kicks in without burnt taste, guess ill stay there for now....i cant try too much otherwise all my holiday carts are gone before i even left the house lol :D

Pax Pods? :D I think that's an advantage of the fully bathed wick as I rarely get bubbles in my Era pods. I feel like maybe cool down hits help reduce them in a Ccell?

 That sounds good, my resistance usually clocks in a bit higher with Apex Ccells (~1.5 ohm) but as long as you stay under that 3.7v you should be good! That's the great thing about a box mod is you can compensate for these differences in resistances between carts, compared to fixed output from a stick battery.

They are there from the start, so I allow several hours, even a full day to allow them to rise with the tips off (like @gunmetalshark was saying). And I also heat them up, but no matter what those air pockets return.

If the Pax Era Pods avoid it, that's a massive advantage. Shame they don't exist in Canada (yet).

Should have my Vapor Slide tomorrow for testing! :brow:
