Loved Ballad of Buster Scruggs (should say, love; still 1.5 stories to get through).

I like a good story, and the Cohen brothers sure can tell a good story. Trouble is, I'm not big on brutality, and that's the Cohen's wheel house. But break the brutality into small doses, a la the six short story style of Ballad, and I can handle it. Great stories, great cinematography, great acting.

I watched it and have to say that I was a little disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I found it a little too cheezy for me.

Back to binge watching Shameless. Gratuitous sex FTW!

Surprisingly... the new Sabrina Witch series. Watched the old series with my daughters when they were young - this series is NOTHING like that one. Okay, not "nothing". She is still a half witch teenager, and her boyfriend is still Harvey, and she is in high school, but it's not for kids. Now we have sex, murder, and outright in-your-face Satanism!

Anyway, it's truly weird, sometimes creepy, and often funny as Sabrina deals with demons from hell and avoids signing away her soul to Satan while wondering what prom dress to wear.

Thanks for the recommendation! Something the wife and I can both enjoy is hard to come by. I like scary blood and gore and the wife likes the relationship side of things with a side of horror. Good fit. Kind of a darker version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I've kept checking back, haven't seen anything really good. I am going to lay down for a while, and was hoping for something new.
We watched Murder Mountain, we liked it.
Buster Scruggs did nothing for me, quit watching, in fact.
Haunted House was okay.

BTW, Bill Hicks is trending on my Netflix, I've always loved him. Sam Kinison is trending too, it's been a long time since I've seen his work. but, not in the mood. They were friends in life, maybe in death, too.

I hope they bring back, some of the ones I got into last year. If I find a goodie, I'll post it.

I have Hulu as well. But if you have neither it's a plenty popular show, so I'm sure it can be found streaming for free in all the usual places around the intertubes.

Looks good, I like subtitles, that way i catch everything they say.

I use subtitles for all films. Need all the help I can get!

Been laid-up sick for a week and binge-watching movies. Some times I think I've scraped the bottom of the barrel for streaming flicks, and then I run across one of the best Australian films I've ever seen, Goldstone. Maybe it's because my lungs are allowing me to vape today, but this flick about an Aboriginal cop vs Evil Mining Corp was so enjoyable. Corruption, brothels in the desert, race/culture relations, human trafficking, beautiful Australian Outback scenery, human redemption, it has so much.

Hmmm...The trailer looks good. I'm about to go get some takeout for dinner. Maybe I'll watch this with my dinner tonight.

Thanks for posting

@macbill I wasn't able to commit to the vid at first without a lead in but curiosity got the best of me. Glad it did! And really digging the Conan travel shows. I'm having trouble finishing anything though. A few of us have to be around at the same time and that doesn't happen a lot. Two episodes from ending Mrs. Maisel. It's killin me.

@grampa_herb Yesterday was a busy day, so I only watched part of it.
Today, I'll finish it. Another thing you mentioned was the subtitles, using for
regular movies. I've thought of doing that, just never bothered with it. Screw it!
I will watch movies with that option on.:myday: Thanks for the Mystery Road heads up.

Goldstone was a decent one.
I just started watching Watership Down. For one reason or another, I never read the book.
I am enjoying this one.
