Agreed dear @Hogni , the Errlectric brush is way too much for what it is unless you buy five, even then it’s still fugly plus the outrageous shipping cost on such a tiny item... I get it. I would definitely buy one if Edwyn offered one (w/NewVape aesthetics) in a minute, no question. But I’m way too lazy and tight to go out of my way to spend so much on that. I was really just messing with you but now you’ve halfway convinced me that I could use one. Curses!!! Do you make arguments as your job?! How infuriating!

And of course I completely understand now that for the majority of NewVape customers, there’s always going to be that “next order” of NV gear. I’ve already got a new list going on a back burner of my brain!

Gotta walk my furry babies, they’ve got me perfectly conditioned to do their bidding. Happy Thursday!

I really miss the regular comedic stylings of Monsieur @emmdeemo round here tbh. Twas such a wonderful part of my daily cyberlife; His scientific testing of the entire FlowerPot range, valuable for sure. But also for the brilliant wordplay & random social insight and of course, the enthusiastic insanity and ensuing hilarity. The video clips that make tea come unexpectedly out of my nose or nod in recognition & appreciation.
I was so much younger then and thought the magic would never end. Such a stupid hippie dreamer!

But then the media found out where he lived, the paparazzi and groupies descended en masse and nothing was ever the same again. He changed his name to MDMO and soon after began his now-famous habit of changing his underpants every hour, on the hour. He’s predicted to become the hottest British global export since 1Dimension or the Spice Girls. He’s got more talent than both of them combined, they only need to figure out how to get that gargantuan cranium to fit on a standard size pillowcase.

TL;DR My VRod is very effective and fun to use. :peace:

PS. My apologies to Monsieur @emmdeemo for the drive-by slander shotgun but well, sir, I’m emotionally immature (but big for my mental age!) so this is just me saying I really miss your posts in the thread.

In all seriousness, I'm generally not here as I dont really feel I have anything new to contribute. No new NV kit, no need to post :)

However, I've just realised that I havent tried any of the quartz terp pearls, NV brand or otherwise...

Whats been the general reception from you good folks regarding the NV terp pearls? (search commencing...)

EDIT: Wait... I missed a carb cap update too!? :D

EDIT 2: Reception seems very positive!

@christohari Do you know how that atomiser part of the sub looks? Especially how big is the hole in it?

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a sublimator atomiser similar part in the vrod or sh or any other enail/vaporizer. Or is it patented?
If I understand the principle well, it is about a heated very narrow "tunnel" for the vapor to pass. When the vapor expands quick after that, it forms very small droplets.
Apparently these can be absorbed faster/better by the lung.

For the extracts such a part could be added directly in the head I think.
I have no idea how it could be added after the flower bowl and still get hot without having to preheat like the sublimator.

Sorry for the back to back post.

@christohari Is the draw resistance of the vrod with sublimator bowl much bigger than with the newvape bowl?
Is there much difference when you use the newvape bowl with preheating like the sublimator?

It all interests me more technically biochemically than really seeing a need for me. I think I would prefer the free flowing of the vrod/sh.

@Sick Vape there is no crime in back to back posts after your edit window has expired. Shoot, if you like you could "go to town", start your own thread, post, wait until you can't edit, post again etc etc. This time next year you could have 365 acceptable back-to-back posts!

It is discouraged in normal situations, and a virtual rule break I think in terms of expected obediance/compliance.

But I so often see members apologising for back-to-back posts after the edit time has expired. No need, you are now perfectly legally entitled lol.

Also, in certain cases when you have posted but then discover something new or need to make an edit, like if you missed an important quote, or wish to mention another member- you can't add a quote by editing a post, and....
If you mention another member after editing your post they will not receive an alert and it will be pot luck whether they see your comments or not.

So in these circumstances you have 3 options:

1) wait anxiously until somebody else posts so that you can then share this important life saving information you have gleaned,
2) mention the member in question by tagging their name and just hope that they see your post again and in time to take immediate life saving action,
OR...
3) due to the life and death nature of the matter, and the (IMO) shortcomings of the website setup and design, you can risk upsetting the mods to ensure the member you want to mention sees your mention in a new, unedited, back to back post.

This would also be the only way to add a quote you may have missed as well. Now we don't want to go upsetting any of the lovely mods here, but I do feel that there are legitimate reasons for back-to-back posting on occasion.
Ideally I would like to see some amendments to the website so that you can edit a post to mention a member and they WILL get the alert.

It would also be nice to be able to add a quote when editing a post too. Just moi :2c:

But that is not why I came here to post today. I keep seeing this advert on TV, and can you guess what it always reminds me of?

:D

You can easily add a quote while editing a post. Simply highlight the quote you want to add and select "reply" when the overlay pops up. This will place the quoted text at the bottom of the page, so you can then highlight the entire quoted message from the reply area and select cut (ctrl-x). Then hit the edit button on the post you want to insert the quote into and select paste (ctrl-v). Boom, quote added via edit.:2c:

Thanks v much Stu for adding that. Very useful, sounds like a perfect work around . Strike that one off my website complaints lol.
And I'm sorry if my comments came across as being insensitive or patronising. I was being playful really, but making some genuine points.

Overall I think this website runs fantastically well and was brilliantly conceived and constructed. I guess we just expect too much these days. Thanks Stu, I admit I was a bit scared when I saw you quoted me that I might have crossed the line, but you never scolded me phew! (This time).

You can be scary Stu, but it is more like respect where you fear disapproval, if that makes sense. Thanks for the tip on editing and adding quotes.

How much play do you guys have between the coil and the vrod head? It seems to move around quite a bit, is that normal?

Also Ctrl-A to select all (or Command-A X and V for select all, cut and paste on Mac.

Very little if any. If you have a third party coil there may be some, but if you have the old NewVape branded controller like I do at least, it should be pretty tight, and they said the coils they were selling with the Auber should fit well now too.

If yours is loose and the two halves of the head aren’t screwed all the way together yet, try moving the coil around a little as you continue trying to close that gap.

Yes, they even have a video on their youtube showing how there is still a full seal even while moving it around in circles.

That’s between the bowl and the glass or the head and the bowl; I’m pretty sure he’s asking about the coil inside the head.

Sounds like you guys are making your doubleweave screens last a while. Maybe i need to soak mine longer.

Just got an order in today with 5 more double screens, some boveda packs, and a glass bowl.

The glass bowl seems to perform much better using the showerhead carb cap from my early testing. Liking it so far. Not sure if i really notice much difference in taste or anything though

I think the way to keep double-weave screens alive for a long time is to brush it regularly to keep it unclogged longer (I don’t do this yet, but I plan to start whenever I get around to buying a brush), soak it in iso and get the debris out without too much abuse to the screen, and leave it in the bowl for cleaning.

I think the most damage probably comes from taking it out of the bowl and putting it back in or torching it too hot. Or really beating it up on a debowler or something like that. I use the debowler fairly lightly and try not to smash more flower into the screen than I have to.

I’ve been using the same 2 screens since shortly after their release and I have no plans to change them soon. :)

Looks like you picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
So great! This is just one example of why we need ya here emmdeemo. It’s been ages since I’ve seen Airplane, gotta be one of the most quotable films ever. So many great, random cameos with hilarious lines, but Lloyd “Chingas” Bridges absolutely slayed every one of his scenes. This role plus the fact he gave us “The Dude” makes him a real Hollywood Legend in my book!

@Chingas There’s no news AFAIK, that was just us being us, or did Edwyn actually comment and confirm NV was working on a retaining nut? I don’t have spheres but I thought the 5mm were perfect size for the VRod’s 28mm dish. I have no idea, so just trying to understand how they get lost?

You’re not the only one, I’ve read other posts as well but how can they fly out using the carb cap? Or are they just easy to drop and lose? At least NewVape keeps the cost down on replacement quartz spheres, can’t hardly find anything that sells for 2 bucks these days. But it still sucks to lose them, I’m sure.

I have very little movement between coil and head, it’s very snug and almost feels like one unit. I have a 3rd party coil though. After I put the handle on and wrapped it, I took the head off and very slightly spread the coil. Head back on and it was perfect, I don’t have a gap between the 2 pieces of the head either. After a few days use, I did notice a wobble and a gap but it was just coming loose so I tightened it. Done. My advice is don’t be afraid to tweak, don’t settle for wobbly bits.

@pxl_jockey: I think NV was just considering the idea and posted a rough sketch.

I lost 2 of my 3 balls in different ways. Once by lifting the vrod off of the old style posts. It was stuck and took some force to get it off. Catapulted to parts unknown. The other escaped while it was spinning and I took off the carb cap. Bounced off my forehead and gone forever.

I only have 1 ball now. I take real good care of it.

I've done at least 50 pages in this thread but that's only like 10%...

I have the current revision (F) VROD with the NV PID etc.

I've been running 650-675 F with a medium-slow draw speed uncapped (very small load to cover screen, using NV fine grinder) and I get great, huge milky hits no issue. However my avb is super uneven with the dark ring/halo/doughnut around the outside. How are you guys getting even avb?

@stinkytofus Is that for one of the packages? Didn’t pay close to that amount but I pieced my order together on the parts page and thank the vape-gods for NV’s generosity last Black Friday! I’m sure that the big package is great, especially with glass and the case. I just got what I needed (and then some!) & so very happy with it, my total was ~$500 before the BF discount.

I would have been happy paying full price but my funds lined up with the holiday by good fortune. I’ve actually thought about this a few times whilst blissfully using my VRod, it’s incredibly good value for the money. I can probably (maybe?) buy two moderately priced portables for what I spent on the VRod but they can’t do what it can and they’re most certainly not going to outlast it. I’m medicating at home 99% of the time so for me, it was a wise investment and it’ll outlive both me and the whole enail/coil technology.
It’s downright inexpensive in today’s vape market if you already happen to have an enail controller & glass.

Basically @Ville23 said what I said better and was more concise. My apologies to you and any future FC readers who might waste even a moment on this bloated post. I’m a loser baby, so why don’t you kill me?Then go to NewVape.com and buy a FlowerPot for your retirement years.
