I agree, i managed to get a really good deal on an OG Air, and although i didn't "need" it, im really glad i got it. Something about how simple and effective it is to operate.

I agree. This includes the Solo/Air/ArGo line. They have so much to offer if you give them a chance. Yet too many times we read about our fellows who try it a couple of times, decide it won't do for them and so 'move on'.......missing all the fun and good results.

Pity, that?

my air has been dropped down the side of an ore dump, dropped in snow, dropped on concrete, fallen from ladders, and left in my car during -40 F temps, it has NEVER let me down, but it is showing some signs of decline, but it’s been through more than I could ever ask a vape to go through. Yes I have purchased lots of the plastic tipped stems, but I’m okay with replacing that, as I can get them down the street now. I’ve also used this thing in some pretty stealthy situations and it has worked flawlessly.

If this thing ever dies for good, I’ll go to @PuffItUp and order another. I have a couple solos to keep me company anyways.

the AIR OG is not analog.

I'm not sure I agree with that. While the 'user interface' definitely is, I suspect the real control is analog as is much of the other things going on (like battery charging control)? For sure temperature sense is analog......

FWIW the first successful computers were analog. We made advanced systems (like 'sidewinder' missiles used to shoot down enemy planes) on just such 'fluid' computers. Even the most modern 'all digital' versions typically get their power from an analog power system).

Today, of course, mass produced digital processors offer cheap, reliable, precision control. A bit like automatic transmissions and cruse control in cars? Although often that ends up taking the place of a knob....

Whatever, it works well. From our POV, which is the only one that really counts?

So the Air Og is more analog compared to the air2?

Beats me. I suspect there's no significant change, really. The interface, which was basically a digital thing to start, is the big change. Where we went from several steps to more steps in precision (not necessarily accuracy). Like having finer lines on your speedometer? The basic circuits (like controlling heater power, recharging and so on are probably the same (why change a proven deal)?

Or not.

For the last 8 months my Air has patiently waited, tucked in the inside pocket of a winter jacket, deep in the bowels of a Public Storage unit.
Back in the line up and kicking huge ass as it always has. The OG Air and OG Solo have a perma spot in my lineup. Set it and forget it vaping

Finally got a chance to try these out. These are legit. Smaller load size than other screens and much more complete extraction.

Yep, great tip that. From @Sinclue originally. I started out trying one in a Solo stem. Then another.... Now I have to search for one without. I've ordered several times, give them to anyone I meet with a Solo/Air/ArGo. Very hard to wear out/destroy. I bent the end of a safety pin to 'hook' the mesh making them easy to get out, then 'flame them clean', brush them clean and put 'em back again. Under a minute, faster than the normal stem. And it takes longer to foul it up since there's more holes in the screen to plug up than in the stem floor.

If, OTOH, you put them in 'dome down' the volume isn't reduced much but it still goes much longer between cleanings.

Merry Christmas to all, and best wishes for a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Are the batteries from Arizer the only suitable replacements or are there 3rd party ones that are up to spec?

No, the 'battery' (it's really a cell, since there's only one.....) from Air II is an approved upgrade (about 50% more 'run time'). You can buy it from Arizer (of course) or from other suppliers. You want Panasonic NCR18650B ('accept no substitutes', that exact maker and part number). Be careful of where you buy it, there are counterfeits (of course). IMR is a well respected Dealer, I've used them before and recommend them:
https://www.imrbatteries.com/panasonic-ncr18650b-18650-3350mah-flat-top-battery/

Again, this is the only (?) approved substitute and is used in Air II.

Regards to all.

How does the air 1.5 compare to the argo? 420edc has the Argo for $175 with extras and I’m kind of tempted but I already have an air, mighty and fury 2

Does anyone use their air on the go?

Argo is a bit lighter in extraction.....so it will not be quite as quickly potent like a Air...or then even more with the Solo's. But I would say there is lesser of a gap from the Argo to the Air.....as compared to the Airs to the Solo's. You basically get a bump of performance (vapor strength) when you go from Argo, Air, and up to Solo.

I only use my Argo with the 420edc bubble stems. Though the Fury2 will be a little easier to use and pocket....the Argo will give you better performance. If you use the Argo with stock stems...much easier to use on the go.

Arizer Air is in the house and ran a couple naked cycles. Now vaping Loompa Headband x Long Bottom Leaf. No different than the Solo. Air 1.5. Also got a couple curved mouth pieces as well as Arizer 2 batteries and charger from IMR.

Are the chargers for Air and Solo interchangeable???

No, dangerously not. Solo is 12 Volts (to charge an 8.4 Volt battery), Air is five (to charge a single 4.2 Volt cell). The plugs are different, but should you be 'lucky' enough to make contact with a Solo charger in Air you're sure to wish you hadn't......

Due caution advised.

However, you can get one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NQCMRJ6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

and then you can charge your new Air from any handy USB port or power bank?

So what's the best way to vape concentrates out of these things?

I used to wrap a bit of shatter or wax in a bit of rolling paper or cotton or just sandwiched between some bud then vape it upside down to prevent any possible leakage.

Is that still the best way to do it? Have they come up with stems specifically for concentrates?
