I wonder if it is a specific batch that didn't meet manufacturing levels of tolerance.
I haven't had any issues. I'm not rough with it, but I'm also not being overly careful. I'm just using the latch as it seems to be designed.
I hope it is just a small bad batch that is caught quickly. I think some of us are a little sensitive this week, in a Haze, hoping things get Squared out.

Wow! just finished this thread. Sounds like a nice vape. I'm more than a little hesitant to purchase one at this time. Sounds like there are a few kinks to work out. I have several high end vapes that are sitting around collecting dust. The trade-in offer is tempting but the package deals seem like the way to go. It sounds like an extra battery and charger are essentials. It has been fun to research yet another vape. This forum is full of interesting peeps. Good job. Now back to my only daily driver. Vapcap has my heart at the moment. As a famous forum member often states and I paraphrase...vapes=civilized

When I first got my MV1 last September, the haptic wasn't working right. They immediately sent me out a new one, told me to keep the battery and all the other stuff that came with it (as well as all the stuff that came with my original vape), and then I sent the old one back.
One of the reasons I decided to try it was because of their 5-year warranty; I figured that that guarantee was good enough for me. I sure hope they stay in business; the technology is fantastic. I love me some Ghost geeks!!

Just took it out today, love the stealthiness and quickness of getting a hit off, did levels 1-3, came back later and finished at 4+5, if i need to reload, crucible is there, its just missing a nice vape case or vape cover, im afraid of dropping this thing, it does not look like it can take a hit of concrete without unit being chipped

That's good to know. I tried once putting a small piece of bud in the crucible (on the principle that it's always better to mess with the bud as little as possible), but it didn't work.
I'm still using my heavy old Head Room stainless steel grinder; same interior design as the new vape grinder... Love my stainless steel...

Strange. I've had two MV1 over the last couple years and never had a latch problem (aside from the initial resistance). Neither were a stealth, so maybe that is the common denominator (although I'd love a stealth).
As far as flavor, I've never understood the S&B devotion. I've had a Crafty for years and after taking forever to heat up, I would get popcorn flavor as quickly as with the LaunchBox. The MV1 has great initial flavor and even when it heads to popcorn-ville, it can't touch the overwhelming blecch that is the Crafty. My Crafty battery is probably dead at this point, since I can't bear to deal with the long heat up time, the smell, and the shitty taste (effects are good, though).

From watching various reviews it seems like there have been major revisions to the MV1. How can I be certain I am getting the latest version from a vendor?
I bought a coarse grinder (also NewVape since I really like their stuff). Still testing but it seems to me that with coarse grind the clods are much weaker and even though I might be using a little bit less bud, the strongest and tastiest hits are gone...I tried this also with my Mighty and also there the taste was a little softer but I still got the massive clouds even with the reduced oven size and quite much the same amount of bud.
Any tips, might I be doing something wrong? Everybody seems to suggest coarse grind with the Ghost.
I've checked that the heatsink is tightly in it's place, the battery is full, the crucibles are packed full but not too tight, I can take a loaded crucible and blow air through it (so that I know it's not too tight)
Also do you guys think that the crucible needs to be fully cleaned with isopropyl after each session? That's also one thing. It seems that with a fresh crucible I get more hit than with a "used one" although I carefully clean the crucible with a brush and test that the air gets ghrough with no extra effort.

If you buy from Ghost directly or an authorized dealer you will get the latest version. Ghost has referenced this. Once in-hand, here's the 3 indicators that it's the latest version:
1) It will be firmware version 1.4
2) It will have the new heat sink. Per GHOSTTEAM (Virgil) on VLF, "The new heat sink can be identified by its components, specifically the black rubber gasket and the mouthpiece/stem. The black rubber gasket has ridges on the stub. The mouthpiece/stem is sandblasted on the bottom end and is made of Makrolon."
3) It's the Stealth Black version.

Talking off the top of my head, I'd have to say that it's because the plastic latch on the Stealth is not overlaid, thus not reinforced, with chrome as the other colors are; which I think was done for aesthetics. I don't recall ever hearing about one of these chrome-overlaid latches breaking, but recently we did hear of our thread member who had problem with the chrome on the crucible hinge chipping from friction/rubbing.
@Mr420, you have to decide on which grind works for you. There is no "right" grind. Barone23 just posted the other day that he likes the extra fine grind of the New Vape Fine Grinder. I like medium/medium-coarse to coarse, but I don't to go for huge clouds. If your herb is moist, you may would want a finer grind; if it's dry, you might like a coarser grind to cut down on harshness. And supposedly strains make a difference, but this is where I get off the boat, too much analysis for me. You have to play around with different grinds, temps, draws. There is no one-size-fits-all. I say, if you're getting the intended result which is getting high or medicated, don't overthink it. With usage over time, your preferences will organically reveal themselves. You already have started to form your own opinions, e.g:
I soak the lid(s) in iso after each session for a few minutes & then brush them with a toothbrush & rinse. If I'm refilling the same crucible during a session, I will, depending on blockage, run my thumb over the underside of the lid or if it needs more, brush it with a dry toothbrush. Just hold the lid up to a light when refilling to see if it's blocked.
I don't clean the ceramic base after each session. Don't care if the ceramic gets stained. I have about 7 crucibles in rotation currently, so sometimes I just cycle through them & when all are dirty, I'll throw the whole batch in iso to soak for a short time until I toothbrush & rinse them.

...Well, then again. I just took a morning session...With coarse grind, 2 hits level 1, 2 hits level 2, 4 hits level 3 (flipped the crucible around after 2 hits) and one final hit level 5. I am as stoned as it's possible with my huge tolerance of nowadays. So the thing works. It seems that after all I've packed the crucible too tight, could also be that with a fine grind it can be packed a little bit tighter (which is of course more bud and more hits 
)...
Also I now realize that I might have inhaled too softly. A little bit harder pulls caused more decent hits. So basically afer 5 Ghost days (2-4 crucibles a day) I'm still learning.
THIS IS SO COOL. I might have said earlier that I've been a very satisfied Mighty user for over 2 years. I haven't really been missing anything and for me Mighty has worked like a charm. I've still been testing some vapes to be sure the Mighty really is the best and well...Since I like this stuff.
Compared to Mighty, every vape until MV1 has been a disappointment and I've tried good popular brands like Davinci IQ, Firefly 2, Plenty ... FF2 and IQ didn't get me enough medicated and were too complicated to use both their own ways. Plenty ate all my herb and didn't give anything special back...Nothing like "hey I just vaped a gram and I'm so lost" I was hoping for, haha... More like "Hey, I just vaped a gram and I'm quite much as stoned as if I had vaped a 0.2 with Mighty"
Now with the Ghost and Mighty I'm finally in a "OK this vape is better for the task at hand"-kinda situation. I seem to use Ghost a little bit more but definitely will not get rid of the mighty Mighty either. What's also cool is that Ghost has "taught" me to use less herb also with the Mighty. And even though Ghost somehow seems to hit harder with a 0.1g load, Mighty gives bigger clouds and the high is slightly different, not better or worse.

I know I have to find my own ways and I sure will...The reason I ask about the gind is because I fear the fine grinder grinds so fine that some particles fall from the bottom holes of the crucibles...I'm blind so I can't really see if that happens... Because of the same reason I can't see if the lids are blocked or not...I just need to find a manner of doing things and stick to that (like clean the lid after each session and not think of it any more).

Convection vs. conduction. Different heads. It's both a pleasure & luxury to be able to pair a vape with your mood.
Personally, I would think it's possible that the avb from an extra-fine grind can fall through the bottom of the crucible.
As far as cleaning in concerned, I suggest:
- If you want to repeatedly use only one crucible in a multi-crucible session, then just take a dry toothbrush & brush the underside of the lid thoroughly between refills. I brush & poke the toothbrush's bristles into the lid holes.
- Use multiple crucibles with each session so you don't have to repeatedly clean the same lid when refilling a crucible. And then clean the lid(s) with a dry toothbrush at the end of each session for use during your other sessions that day before the final day's iso cleaning. But, of course, you can choose to iso between daily sessions.
Since I only use 1 crucible each session, sometimes I just keep using the same crucible that day & just swap out clean lids when refilling & then wash all the lids & only that one crucible at night. So you do have a few options on the way you would like to handle it.
