Second this for sure. If its not 100% vrod compatible straight out of the box then I wouldnt list them as vrod coils unless you put a very obvious caveat explaining the spreading and maybe even offer an option to have you do it and make the ones you havent spread yet slightly cheaper?

I also noticed on your site on the vrod coil listings it says they are 17mm tall and there is no mention of spreading as of now. IIRC the specs from NV were 15-17mm so if spreading is needed they probably arent 17mm tall right? All 4 of mine are ~15.5mm tall and fit perfectly tight in the vrod.

I know 1/16" isn't much but if something is marketed as for the vrod, then the consumer really shouldnt have to do any work to make it work properly. Again my opinion and we all know what opinions are like right? everyones got one and they usually stink.

Edit: also wanted to mention - 99% sure I remember NV coming in here after the auber switch and saying the auber coils would be vrod compatible so now you are competing directly with NV who carries dnail XLR pinout vrod compatible coils that take no manipulation to be perfect.

If I had a vote, if you’re selling them specifically for use with the VRod, I’d say spread ‘em. ;)

Otherwise, do you have a recommended way of getting it perfect? I’ve never had to adjust a coil, and while I have some ideas about how to do it right I don’t want to tell people to do something that I’m not sure about.

The coils for the auber definitely fit the Vrod without mod.

I thought that the current coils shipping from NewVape for Auber controllers was already the right size to fit the VRod without stretching - the same size as the coils on the original NV controller; is that not the case? Are these coils not from NewVape?

@NewVape710 @newvape918 ?

I’m just afraid I’m giving people wrong info on coils right now so I’d like to clear it up...

@710Coils had some that were short too. Are the ones shipping now the right size?

So.....

I never wanted to carry the Vrod coils and purely did this to accommodate people that did not want to deal with the Micro XLR plug and preferred the standard XLR plug. I have decided I am not going to pursue these any further and have pulled them from my shop. If any of the 3 people that bought these does not like their coil. I am happy to refund them their money.

I guess we learn as we go with some things and these have been nothing but a pain in the ass and a complete waste of money and time.

Sorry if I seem annoyed. I just knew in my gut this was not for me and got blinded in the response from people about wanting these. I will leave this to @NewVape710 to take care of and focus on what I do good. Sell my bangers and my coils as I know hands down they are meant to be together =)

I apologize if I have wasted anyones time with this and hope you are all having a great day

My coil isn’t from new vape it’s from high 5. It was a tad bit shorter in height than the new vape coil so I opened it up. The new vape coils are 15.5 mm.

Strange times where someone will be bashed for his kindness to offer an important device the OG manufacturer didn't offer up to now :suspicious:

But it's an impudence of Shane for sure to deliver a device where the customer has to work on a few seconds for a perfect fit

At least I've to say thank you very much, @710Coils, for your excellent engagement for the FC community!

I guess we have reached the point where vaporizing is reaching mainstream, where the customer expects to do nothing, including thinking for themselves. I endeavour to be nice and silly here. I’ve deleted and edited, left it & came back, and the nicest thing I can say is sometimes opinions are fucking stupid as well. Looking for the ignore button. Didn’t we have an “ignore” for ignorance?! Found it! Yay!

Talk about making a mountain out of a 1/16th’s inch molehill! It’s not even 1/16”, I measured it with my AnalAssholeMeter and it’s barely 3 ass-hairs. I’ve never touched a coil before and I would hardly call what I did “manipulation” or “modification”, “spreading” would be way overstating what I did. I’ve read @Alexis state, more than once, “I’d rather be nice than right.”; I hate that, it reminds me how far I have to go on my path to enlightenment. But this time, I’ll happily take the justice handed down by the mod-gods, FFS.

I’m just so happy that I got my @710Coils before the Nightmare Before Christmas. Because its Kevlar is sooo much sexier than other coils. By a country mile or a city block. It’s the cherry on top of my setup.

But also now it’s a sexy unicorn. :brow: Someday it will be worth billions*!

*Not US Dollars, maybe... prolly more like Vietnamese Dong. :haw: I can’t make up stuff this good!

Is there some reason they say their auber coil only fits the 300a? Isn't auber standard 5 pin on all their models? Why does newvape do/say this all the time? Just make one standard pin layout industrywide, not this proprietary bullshit. Had this never been used vrod since last April and stil not sure I want to bother making it work.

That being said... I also want to stop by and say that the showerhead has taken over as my one and only precious for most of 2018. I have had no desire to VAS on new vape models aside from arbitrary curiosity. It really just scratches the itch.

I slowly moved from using the showerhead with water to a j-hook, and just enjoy that better. It's easy to forget how much flavor is lost through water until you switch back out for a while. Also, this vape makes so much reclaim, it's just way simpler having a j-hook you can quickly shove a bit of alcohol soaked paper towel through and then rinse clean. Finally, it has so much flavor and effect, I find myself shelving my D-Nail halo's and concentrates for months at a time before I get an urge to dab. It's just that damn powerful.

So.... Love love love the Showerhead. Home fucking run. Proprietary V-rod connection? Not so much. Still have plenty of newvape love though! Happy holidays everyone!

yes there is quite a layer of it built up inside the post of my flower pot...understand there is some good stuff in that stickiness but I'm not exactly sure how to go about reclaiming my reclaim!

Just scrape it out with a dabber or something else in-between and put the reclaim back into the bowl to vaporize it or soak the whole bowl in some ISO or ethanol for a deep cleaning from time to time. You can reuse the alcohol a few time for that. If the solution starts getting sticky evaporate the alcohol and vaporize the concentrated reclaim. It neither doesn't taste nice nor really awful but hits like a train. A kind of joker for bad times at least.

Would suggest ingesting it to get the maximum effect :) vape reclaim is literally a concentrate and quite potent. Soak it in warm liquid ,then drink :)

Got my Vrod today, allow me to suggest NOT opening the carb cap to see how well the sapphire balls are spinning.....Trust me, they are spinning. Thanks to these high strength reading glasses, I was able to recover all 3 that went awol....Now for the first heat cycle. Thanks NewVape and fellow SH'ers and Rodders!
Cheers.

I was bugging Edwyn to do a flower centric version with the recessed base of the VROD; but no dab dish. Just a bowl and heater. :D It would be a lot smaller without the dab dish and IMO less intimidating for some people, and really tiny! More like Herborizer sized.

Of course... I wanted it out of MACOR too, :brow:

We probably won't see any macor FP parts though due to a few posters concerns.

I mentioned that as well but just on the forum and not to Edwyn directly. I want to re-buy the Showerhead after trading with my friend for the Rev A VROD, but I would love to buy it with the same styling and fit as the VROD. Would be the next evolution of the Showerhead IMO. Same performance if not better meaning lower temps just because of the way it fits together.

I’ve read @Alexis state, more than once, “I’d rather be nice than right.”
I hear you man, and just wanted to say that I never actually meant that literally but I do try and draw a line while still remaining true to myself. And you know me by now, I will only ever speak my true (and deranged) mind. It frequently gets me in trouble as well I should take more care really.

Really cool to see your long long wait finally be over and hearing how happy you are with the FP so far. I mean, was it ever going to be any different? So glad you could make it happen at last and well done for holding course and keeping your head up through an undoubtedly anxious time this year.

And remembee to spare me a thought, can you imagine how much it would have killed you if you had discovered on your first use- that you will just never be able to actually use it?
It killed me to bits at the time with disappointment. Not least because it makes a right public mug out of me when I have to report back afterwards. Nobody else it seems has to report such similar tidings.

But all in the past now. Only saying now because Im sure you can relate to how crushing it would be after looking forward excitedly for so many months. I can tolerate my Herbo Ti just about well enough on the better days, to spare the idle in-house Showerhead any thought.

And I do still really enjoy hearing from over the moon contented new FP recruits and your stories of amazement and delight.

So with eta SH2.0 you're speaking of the coil cover would go away, and you would have a nut and a top section? To be clear would it have the ramps of the VRod? if so, that would eliminate customers who have PIDs and coils they prefer. Why would NewVape consider that?

I'm talking about a two piece design like the vrod but with the 19 hole heat exchanger of the showerhead. No dab dish for small form factor. It would use a newly designed housing shroud on the top half to encase the coil to retain the vrod's 2 piece form factor instead of the showerheads coil cover.

You could probably machine it without the coil guides since the dab dish wouldn't be there. It doesn't seem that coil issue was ever really an issue at all if stock Auber 20mm coils fit fine after all.

I’d buy an extra head if it would work with the existing VRod bottom piece. I’m not sure exactly why, the VRod is amazingly good with just flower. I’ve definitely been bit (hard!) by the NewVape bug.

I’m in your head @invertedisdead I’ve asked NV about this very thing before for an updated ShowerHead, it would be killer update for SH or could just be an additional option for VRod. Though if people had the option to get an extra head, it would probably kill the current SH anyway.
