Phattpiggies Wood Shed

@Mr. Me2 I've not drank tea/coffee for 35 years that's just how fast I work. The Phlash:lol:
Videos need to be a minute long for Instagram and you'd soon get bored of watching some of them at the proper speed.

@Padriano posted a picture of his Bimblebox Burl stem and a really nice @Aezhenn case on IG the other day which reminded me how much better they look twisted.

Mr. Me2 real time for you.
Wax really makes this wood come to life.

That long slender style with the taper at the end is one of my favorites, and that's saying something cause the twists are out of this world!

@almostthere A long way off, I'll reveal all once I've got one turned.

Hope things take a turn for the better @Diggy Smalls.
So far the only vongs available have been stubby looking and I understand why.
I followed suit and stuck with DV sizes.

Then I got bored of that idea.

To be fair I didn't think they'd attract the attention they have and I'll be doing some more.

Forgot to add these pictures

I don’t even know what those are used for, but they look beautiful. (Mini Darth Vader wig holder?)

The Yew IH goes out to a customer along with this stem.
They asked for a lidded green acrylic piece and I put a blank to one side for them.
Then this blank appeared and the original got put back in the draw.
You’re looking out for your customers and offering them only the best is very evident in your attitude and your business. Amazing! I love businesses like yours.

@Ooze transparency, honesty and putting in the effort to make sure customers are happy is the only way to conduct business.
Return customers are a sign I'm doing something right.

When I knew I could get hold of some of this species I had to see if it would turn. It worked and finished so smooth.
Big clue as to what it is in this picture. Something very dear to all of us.

The 'stem' stem goes out to the grower this week, hoping it's going to be stable enough to do some more.
Doesn't matter if it's not as I can send some out to be stabilised. Once I've rough turned them so they don't look like what they are.

Part way thru this Bocote open twist. No glass condenser in this one.

Thank you @Squiby I can't wait to get the condenser in there the combination of the two materials looks really good.

Anyone considering turning make sure and stay safe, shit happens real quick.
You can see a chunk of burr fly off, the jolt from the catch must've loosened the grip and off it went.
A couple of blanks that behaved.

Both spoken for.
The Bocote open twist got a Springfields green mesh acrylic over the SS condenser. The two go really nicely together.

I've done round and square stems in this species so I know what's coming next. Snakewood is hard as nails and it'll take a bit of extra work finishing this one but it'll be well worth it.

These are going to be interesting to finish.
Cross cut Zebrano which means there are two big lines of end grain to get smooth.
I'm taking a file to them so I've no idea how it's going to go.
