I'm thinking of getting this when it is a bit more evolved even though it will be more expensive. I wish someone would post somewhere info on how to use box mods for vapes. Like what is TC mode and why would I want it. And how to set it. I just go a box mod for a future iheat but I have no idea what to do with it. I asked in the ask thread but no response. How have those of you who understand box mods learned to make sense of them?

@little maggie There are several threads one is: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/w...ing-for-on-demand-convection-510-vapes.25465/

This thread starts with a list of mods that are compatible with @funkyjunky http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/tc-box-mods-firmware-discussions-and-customizing.23742/

Regardless, I suggest that you stick with mods that use the Tubo Shareware from @funkyjunky. You are familiar with the Tubo software which will make the learning curve easier for you.

This will give you time to read the threads that interest you to give you the confidence to go further into the world of mod boxes

Another cool trick with the glass beads is to add it to your water system so the vapor has to navigate the maze of beads. Really adds nice cooling to any system. If the inlet tube is a large bore the beads make up for that and you get excellent cooling.

It took me a day or two after the sale to research and buy the evic v2 mini, but mistvape was kind enough to still offer me the imp beta, so i am in on my first mod dry herb vape*. A big Thank you!

I just received an invoice for postage, so maybe they are ready? Or soon? Good news either way.

I now have a bunch of stuff in my cart on the site including an essence and some of those wong stems (Had not seen them before but they look super useful for at home or as a durable out and about stem) so it's looking to be a pretty interesting and fun time of vape testing coming up, and possibly sooner than i expected.

*(likely to be followed by another in January or February, no doubt )

Imp landed today, and it is a beauty. I will need a couple of days to really get to know it, but upon initial testing it looks like temp control, Cruise mode and eco mode seem to work. Of course I will need to do much more testing with copious amounts of herb, and really get the settings dialed in. But my overall first impressions are very positive. Massive thank to mistvape for letting me get on board with this little guy!

@antispleen sounds good, excited to see your settings for tc. I've been focused on getting these finished and haven't experimented with tubo firmware very much.
For everyone waiting i printed all the shipping labels but have only shipped 6 units so far. Which leaves 9 to go. I've devoted some time to making fixtures to improve consistency and speed things up in the long term.
All the parts are ready to go so i just need to stop typing and get to work

Forgot to mention the beta comes with a cooling stem and a regular stem, that's the package.
@antispleen got a few extra goodies because he was in early, like before I offered them, and he is pioneering the TC settings using tubo which is a huge help.

Keep in mind, I've only had a little while with the imp, so this is subject to change. But i have found some settings that are producing beautiful vapor, and the temp control is working very well. 360 barely pushing clouds but insane flavor, 430 very dark avb. The temp feels close to other vapes i have used at the same temps. I am using a vtc dual using the tubo firmware, with the longer bead filled cooling stem.
Coil is locked at .227 ohms (this may vary per device a bit) power set to 30 watts. TCR set it tubo mode is a bit odd, i just set all three to the same value to be safe.TCR (tubo set) 180. All three. Temp 380 to 430. That should be enough to get some of ya started with temp control.
Eco mode works too, as well as cruise. I will keep at my testing, and hopefully make a video tomorrow of a sesh and walk thru my settings.

Ok, I don't know exactly what is the Tubo mode..., I assumed it was the TC mode you use with your Tubo but maybe I'm wrong...

The assembly has been going very well. Past vapes have required a good deal of coil tuning and test vaping to insure everything is ok. This one has required very little tuning. Every unit has worked fine first time. Additionally if the user wants to tweak this you just remove the wood body, which is held on with O ring pressure, and you have full access to the coils.
@antispleen has gotten good results in TC and I'm going to try that myself tonight.
The rest of the betas will ship today or tomorrow and based on the how it went I am going to offer 30 units as a pre release sale at $75. I'll announce here in the next day or two.
Thanks to everyone who got in on this one.

All the betas are shipped and I've decided to go ahead with a pre release sale. The Imp, cooling stem, standard stem, wong and 3 extra screens for $75. In the store now but not on the homepage, go to the store and click vaporizers, it is the first one.
I was going to wait until there was more feedback but every beta went together and worked fine in wattage mode. The few folks that have received their beta are pleased and it is performing great. Last night I followed settings from @antispleen and was delighted. First try running in tubo mode I got multiple great hits from half filled stem and ended up with dark tan abv with no scorching, the result I've been looking for.
It is amazing to me that in this mode I can hit it as hard as I can and it works great.
