edit add - We were going to watch this movie tonight, it was in the machine (VHS!) and ready to go, but at the very last minute we switched to Austin Powers in Goldmember.

Accidentally left my stash and M in a rickshaw a month back, never to see it again :( Keep wondering what the rickshaw guy would've thought it is when he found it. Anyway, had to go back to joints, until all the reasons for quitting combustion in the first place came back to me. Efficiency, smell of smoke and torture of the lungs...
On the bright side, I could save up to upgrade, and the Shadow M came out just as I was deciding what to get.
Now I've got a shadow M, a nonavong xls and am XL wenge stash waiting to be shipped. Iwas sorely tempted by the omni but price and lack of spinning mouthpiece changed my mind.

Two questions to the experienced vapcapers out there...
1) which is the absolute lightest (currently available) vapcap model/configuration, how heavy would it be, and can it by held comfortably in the lips like a cigarette? I know the M was a tad heavy for that.

2) how tough is the darkwood on the nonavong? Against scratches, dings, general wear. I'm pretty careful normally but hope I don't have to be too worried about it all the time.

This is why it's in one's best interest to never have less that two or three vaporizers. More is even better.

My lighest cap is a woody made by Ed's, mexican katalox, but they don't make these anymore. Best bet would be nonavong S or a custom stem by piggie, primitive organic..

Great Question!

For the longest time I used an M with a Ti-tip. I loved the simplicity of this setup and I'm big in simplicity re' my vaping. I really don't like the vape aspect to be ANY more involved in the process of getting high than rolling a joint was. (other than loving how beautiful these VCs are and can be, that's just an unexpected perk of the fabulous VC concept)

I finally abandoned the M stem/form factor when I got one my first spinning mouthpiece during one of George's early 'Thursday Flash Sales'. WHY? Because I found the shape of the mouthpiece made it infinitely more comfortable to hold in my lips/teeth while I vaped. I prefer this SO SO much over physically holding the VapCap to my mouth for a long slow inhale.
That feels weird & looks weird! So you will enjoy the spinning MP for a start.

As to what is lightest? Well it will be a STD length VC to start with, and the extra length of the XL also adds a smidge of leverage as well as weight. I'm honestly not sure which of DVs current range is going to be lighter out of the wood or the Ti. Probably the light wood?

BUT FEAR NOT. If there is no Steel in your Dynavap you are going to find any current model of VC with an MP much much more pleasant/light to hold by your lips than your old M was.

As for me, I've never wished my all titanium STD length VC was any lighter in weight.

I am not experienced, I was with joints, but have a precision scale. All weights in grams, unloaded and with the cap on.

_Shadow M: 20.66 grs
_Silver M: 20.31 grs

_Omnivap standard size: 12.82 grs with titanium body.
_Omni assembly and mouthpiece: 5.62 grs.

Bodies:
- ti-woody: 1.76 grs
- carbon: 1.80 grs
- titanium: 3.27 grs
- nanovong wood: the heaviest are black and dark wood: 4.08 grs, cocobolo: 3.64 grs, and the lightest is the light wood: 2'52 grs.

- SS Tip, including cap: 6.45 grs
- Titanium tip, including cap: 4.10 grs
- Cap: 0.81 grs.

Soooo, if you're planning of leaving the vapcap between your lips like a cigarette, as I do, you may also want to have the comfort of using it free handed (Omni assembly, no need to fiddle the carb hole with your finger), the lightest and most comfortable option for what I have would be: the omni with wood and titanium body: 11.30 grs.

Today I have been enjoying some free time in beautiful Malawi and upon @Hogni 's suggestion, I have previously found some Nkhotakota flowers and have just this morning enjoyed my first taste :) after a 3 week t-break since arriving here. It's a very mellow yet active high that has the corners of my mouth lifting into a smile. Very natural tasting, very dry, weedy, full of seedy. Very happy.

Just one cap so far, sitting in a lovely cafe in the forrest just outside the city. Got my 'Franken M' made form parts I'm happy to leave here when I'm done (actually already know who I can gift it to here). It is made up from a blackwood MP I spun a little too thin for the 10mm STD diameter, a Ti-body I made that was ever so slightly too loose to feel happy about selling, and an M tip, with my small bowl modification, because I don't care for M tips. Not that it didn't just get me a perfectly lovely result with a cheapo double flame :)

nice post @Campos, gets my recommendation for the 'Best of Vapcap' thread assuming this info hasn't already been posted there? @Stu

@Skunkport LOL nice catch, wish I had meant it that way when I wrote it :)

Thanks a lot, guys!
@Campos , indeed a genuinely useful and informative answer, and exactly what I was looking for. I wish they'd mention the individual parts' weights on the website, but I guess that's what this wonderful community is for.
Spot on about the fact that omni's hands free feature would go hand in hand with the light weight I'm looking for. I think titanium omnivap std size is the way to go. Custom bodies/stems are tough because of all the shipping costs to India. Besides, I like the thought of a tough material like titanium over wood, which would require more care.

Now gotta start saving for the next sale :)

Hey @Dynavaper!
Do you still have a spare DDave water vand to offer?
I am really interested in getting one of those. I tried to built one out of a standard chillum but I couldn’t get a nice fit. Now I want the original one.
Greetings from Germany

Hi there, @Vapology! Yes, I still have it available, I am just waiting for @djurodjakovic to tell me whether he/she wants it, or not. Let's give him/her until Wednesday. If he's/she's not interested or doesn't come back to it at all, then I would gladly pass it to you. I would ask for the price on DDave's website + postage, if that's okay for you.

@mrb, enjoy the Malawi flower experiment! But take care. Really good Malawi can be devastating trippy.
And try to get some Cobs. The process of fermentation caused by this method makes the flowers looking like shit but their effects are very special. Perhaps some pics?

@Hogni Ha. That's what the guy broke me off some from :) took a photo . . The whole cob would have cost me £5 but I only needed/wanted a couple grams. .
I'll bear what you said in mind :) Though it would be my first psychedelic experience from pot in 20 yrs of enjoying it. Hard to tell if it's the result of my t-break or the weed, but 3hrs after one cap I'm still riding a lovely mood.

@Dynavaper,
thank for the offer.
you can pass it to the other guy/girl.

I have found an easy solution if I want to use my M with water.
I have a 18mm male to 14mm female glass adapter. I took a small piece of silicone tube that I use with EVO, maybe 7-8mm long (not sure about diameter). I stick the tip of M in the tube and stick that inside 14mm hole on the glass adapter. works great.

I had no idea of such a weed cob, I would have thought it was a kind of root or something. But found this about malawi and weed: https://sensiseeds.com/en/blog/cannabis-in-malawi-en/
I thought it might be interesting. I would love the psychedelic for a bit.

Thanks mate, I've done a lot of waiting, Malawi style, while here, and with suprisingly good 3G coverage here I've enjoyed having time to frequent the forums i like. No other equal the good vibes of this one though :)

I agree this should go in the best of thread, but before it does could we add the weight of a ti and wood mouthpiece and the steel and Ti standard and XL condensers? We may as well have everything broken down. I'm not home to do that now but I can probably get them later tonight if nobody already has them...

Is anyone still waiting for shipping confirmation?
Yes. Me. And I'm a bit worried in general with these us packages as my firewood 5 seems stuck in the airport customs for a week now :goon:. Good thing that I have my Omnivong and shadow from EU shop to wait.

Edit : I finally got it a few minutes ago ! Now I cross fingers for the customs...
