I bought one of these coils in expectation of my NewVape shipment which I received today. Unfortunately it would appear the coil is too tall to fit the SH with coil cover. The end of the coil goes all the way to the end of the SH threads and it's not possible to screw the nut on. Either that or I'm being a klutz. For now it seems like I have to order another coil and wait a bit longer before I get to do a test drive.

Could I shorten the coil or is that ill-advised?

What's interesting is the phone number is in Montreal, a far cry from Hamilton and not a single hit on Google for the guys email address. The address comes back to an area of large office buildings with many tenants. Something fishy. The five packages were left at the front desk, is that the building's main lobby. Perhaps the tracking does not contain all the info as it's been awhile. Sorry Edwyn, wish I could help.

Wow @NewVape710 very sorry to hear. After looking at the tracking I hope UPS was a bit more thorough than "Left at front desk". I just had a 400$ suit shipped last month and it came Fedex and I had to pick it up at their location with my ID and a signature.

Some happier news - I received my NV order ahead of schedule! Got it all set up and ripped it a few times, just confirmed firsthand that the Vapecode coils fit tight in the regular VROD, and here are my first impressions comparing it to the SH.

Without the cap on either, for strictly flower performance the SH does work slightly better for me. Even while keeping draw speed fairly low, the AVB came out just a tad less brown and needed a second pull to finish. But when I put the cap on and let it heat soak (as I typically do with the SH anyways) they seem to brown the flower pretty much identically. (This is only after 2 bowls each way, 4 total)

I only had a small dab of live resin left as I havent been dabbing recently after my long FP break, so I only got a chance to do one dab, and no double deckers but WOW.

I happened to get my sapphire balls today too, and this is my first time dabbing off a sic dish and first time using sapphire. It's insane. I used 2 4mm and 2 5mm balls and the 1 hole carb cap gets them racing around nicely! It was ridiculous, 2 pulls, great flavor and it was done vaping all the good stuff, probably the least harsh feeling dab Ive taken. Coming into this I obviously knew it would be better at dabbing than the SH but I didnt realize the improvement over a regular quartz banger/directional carb cap. I'm going to have to do further dab tests with these sapphires in my quartz banger though to see the difference they make there as well.

For the record, didnt change the temp when I changed from SH to VROD. 646. For the dab too.

Here is my current set up in the bedroom. Have a hepa/carbon filter to keep the smell down and my air clean too.

I completely understand, and if you have to set that as your current rules I get it, but I think this ultimately needs some more consideration.

Here are a couple of issues I see:

1. You sell FP bundles that are more than $500, and while those of us who know the FP and wouldn’t accept many alternatives are likely to jump through some hoops, my guess is that this will negatively impact sales to less fanatic users to some degree.

2. A scammer could always load up a cart of $499 to get around this, and if fraud has been a significant issue in that price range then I’d guess that’s exactly what they’ll do. If not, you may be able to set the limit higher. Someone tried to do this to me for less than $500 though, so they are out there...

There are other irreversible transfer methods such as Bitcoin that may be worth looking into...they can be done from home, but they also require jumping through even more hoops if you don’t already deal with them...there may be other good options, but the point is I think in the long run this is a matter worthy of some more thought.

If you have delivery confirmations for the presses, I hope you take it up with the CC companies because they really should be on your side here.

So I was noticing that my water piece was getting way too dirty and gritty for my liking over the past 8 or 9 months of owning the FP. At first I really didn't mind, but I noticed a few months ago I wasn't cleaning my pieces as often as usual and had settled into solely using the D020. I use it with a female bowl and put an 18mm adapter to fit it to the piece.

To cut down on dirt I have started trying two things - first I have jammed a piece of cotton into the bulbous part of the 18-18 M-M adapter which has kept the water very clean for the week I have been using it. Next up I am going to be trying to get a brass screen in there to see if that is also effective. Anybody else have tips for cleanliness? I am using the double woven Ti screen.

I have used hemp fiber in the adjustabowl stems, and it does work. However, it also gets soaked with resin fairly quickly. You may vape the resin, but it’s a constant battle to maintain. I do use an Ash Catcher which helps, but try and clean my GP with sea salty and alcohol weekly. Some chemistry plugs come in real handy when doing this.

I get very little in my glass, but I do get some through the standard Ti screen in my stubby bowl, so I’ve been considering an ash catcher to deal with it.

Short of that, what you’re doing is probably the best option. You could probably even put a smaller amount of cotton or degummed hemp fiber in the bowl’s post if you wanted to. I really don’t think a second screen would help unless it had double weave Ti size holes or smaller.

Edit: Apparently I’ve got a talent for saying almost exactly what someone else is saying at almost exactly the same time; this isn’t the first time...

Cotton filters work well just make sure to change them when you notice a decrease in airflow as they will eventually clog.

to keep even more debris out of my glass, i've been using the lids from my evo baskets, expanding the sides a little and inserting them them into bottom of glass bowls and adapters

@YaMon thank you! I am glad that this is an accepted practice. And yes, the battle of cleanliness is real. Recently I stayed with a friend for a few days and did not bring a vaporizer, so we had to use his bong. He keeps it very clean, but it still wasn't clean enough. The taste of charring and byproduct is icky after years of primarily vaping.

@VaporWare fair point on the screen, when put that way. Nonetheless I am going to experiment a wee bit with this concept. If I can somehow spread a thin layer of cotton over the screen it may be a good solution.

@invertedisdead I just went to hit the FP after a morning with the Ghost and VC and noticed that the airflow felt more restricted. The cotton after a few days has really built up some resin and is nicely topped with crumbly lil' bits. I am going to snip off the yummy bits and toss them into the FP later today. I found the additional restriction really let me get my herb quite dark and get a heavy hit...so I may play around with this new possibility

edit:@Pyr0 I NEED TO TRY ONE OF THE GLASS BOWLS. They look so yummy and offer a new flexibility. When I have a bit more skrizz I might try out one of the ones off Popular Glass. If I strike it rich I was planning on getting rid of my WA and upgrading to a Vrod anyways. I just wish Auber created a double out RDK 300. LOL.

@Slagzord - I use a drop down between the bowl and the piece and let my drop down get super dirty and will eventually harvest the goodies high in CBN, but it keeps my actual piece so much cleaner. I guess it acts like a dry ash catcher kinda. I definitely dont get any pieces of flower through into the piece, only reclaim that condenses in the water it seems.

Aside from that, I mean I typically change my water daily or every other day...the water still gets discolored and smelly (nothing compared to combusting but noticeable) and i prefer to have cleaner tasting hits. I think the first few pulls after a fresh water change are smoother than after it gets dirty too. YMMV.

@NewVape710 Are the international shipping cost estimates on your site accurate? I was a bit surprised to find out the estimate for shipping a carb cap to Europe is $34, and clicking through random other European countries some are given the estimate of $108.21.

I have used and still do the EQ basket screens this way. They fit perfectly in my carb adapters (Vapefiend bridge adapter, and TAG adapter), but are too big for the underside of the Herbo Ti bowls or even the joint on the FC 186.

I think the EVO lids are a little narrower though. I much prefer this way to hemp fiber. As @tb42091 has observed, it doesn't take long for it all to get pretty gunky and crumby.

Yes you can vape off that reclaim but you aren't technically gaining anything there, just saving some calories for another day. I just dont like having to mess around managing the hemp fiber and replacing it basically daily, as airflow reduces quite quickly.

The EQ screens in the adapter works great. They do get clogged and need changing every other day really, but I always get one very nice large and smooth hit by dropping the sceens in the bowl- a whiteout that drops off fully before you inhale, you know the type.

Ill look into this...

Well my tracking ended up having a delivery date of monday...but last night moved up to today! And i just got back from the post office and my Flowerpot Showerhead bundle has arrived. And my girlfriend is out for the day and its supposed to rain snd im off work... going to be a great day.

Will be back later with some initial impressions! Just glad i dont have to check the tracking anymore
