I finally took off the hologram and found nectar resin underneath! Now I always remove it. Btw, if the CU is hard to pull apart, just drop the whole thing in alcohol and return later to actually separate the pieces....

With S&B's brilliant capsules,

Think containment, convenience, and ... insulation ... rather than one of those other C words

Speaking of capsules, I have some new ones that are crazy tough to remove the lid on. Any tips?

I rolled some of the bottoms in my fingers and that helped a bit, but I have one with spent abv in it that is like welded shut, lol. I'm afraid I'll ruin it getting it apart. Never had this problem before.

Hi @shredder , thanks again for your suggestion years ago here, to remove the CU screen when using capsules

You've been using these caps since they appeared, like me, so you must have gotten some stubborn capsules. These comments may help others

Heat cycles usually help. Try opening after another session or two.

Normally I open tight capsules with the left hand vice technique, like I posted in the Tubo thread:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/tubo-evic.22992/page-131#post-1302304

But you may need to make a dent or get it slightly out of round using brush handle

(I do not recommend a paper clip through holes to push or pull, as it widens holes and bends lid)

those low-temp hits feel like nothing happened until you exhale: then it's pure flavor (and psychoactive).

I got my first vapes ever this week. The first of the three I tried was the Mighty. It took me a while to get used to not feeling the hit on the intake, but what you said describes it perfectly... feels like nothing, you just took a normal breath, and then really tasty on the way out...

the difference between that and a j is just... so big to me. I still miss feeling the hit, but I quickly learnt to enjoy the exhale experience this offers as an upside for sure.

Then I suggest you a very fine grind, a tight pack (not too tight like pax) and at least 185c/365f.

Along these lines, and another way to try, yesterday I used a capsule -- empty, with a lid on it -- atop a micro dose (at least that's what I'd call it, I have no idea of the weight of it). I was concerned about creating pressure against the c/u and consequently the housing, so I did use a very small amount, then plopped the empty capsule in. When finished (like 2 or 3 pulls at 190C) it was well spent and flattened out to about 1/16" inch thick. I had to poke it once to crumble it so it would fall out.

I do this with my mighty, but push an empty capsule, without it's lid, into the cooling unit.
It fits real tight and nice. I squish the capsule to get it out, but they can be reshaped ok.
Yeah, put the small load in the bottom and an empty, lidless, capsule on top - it'll find it's own way into the cooling unit. :)

I will try that tonight, thanks for the tip. Definitely still experimenting! Big part of the excitement so far. Definitely a convert (to vaping) already.

The consensus on this thread seems to be that this the easiest and quickest way to clean your CU. Some people like to remove the hologram lock to prevent discolouration and I have also noticed in some updated
cleaning videos that they recommend not soaking the o-rings (just wipe them over).

Just going off topic I am just wondering how much are people paying for ISO? Here in OZ its about
A$20 per 500ml (U.S $15 per pint?) from the major hardware chain which seems expensive.
Wow, for 99% ISO its about $7-8 and for 92% at the local drug store its $2.39. Very cheap.

You'll being loving it all even more as time goes by.
The more you exclusively vape, the worse that smoke tastes when you try returning to it; it's remarkable this can happen with something that was so pleasurable before.
The other thing, a bit of an acquired taste that does take time to adjust to, is the quality of the effects themselves once combustibles and carbon monoxide are gone from the equation.
Happy vaping!

yeah that!

I've found myself consciously trying to feel out/find words for how it is different.... because it definitely is. Subtly, I think.

I feel like it's... the same but calmer? With the stuff I am using at the moment, I can get to a specific level via combustion where I have certain effects that are easily recognizable, but I start to feel a bit out of control of them (vision starts spinning etc) and maybe a bit of anxiety peeks in.

When I vape to the same level I have found that I can just enjoy it - no spins/anxiety at all.

Still, not sure. Definitely having fun though. I'm probably getting off topic.

Seeking My Shangri-La
A question for longtime exclusive capsule users - I'm looking at you ChooChoo:). How often (if at all) do you replace and clean underneath the chamber screen?
I have owned my Mighty for about 15 months now and only use capsules. I've not yet had to remove the chamber screen for a cleaning as it still looks brand new.

I do, however, place a small screen on the bottom of the capsule before putting in my herb. This helps prevent any particles from escaping through the bottom holes of the capsule. I also place a screen on top of the load in the capsule to prevent any particles making their way through the holes in the capsule lid. I removed the screen from my CU as well to make cleaning much, much easier.

Hope this helps.

And yes, I'm an ISO soaker. I rinse off with hot water and let dry in a napkin. Sometimes the hot water activates a sticky micro film on the CU. (Just left over resin that the ISO didn't release.) I soak a second time and it usually does the trick.

Not choo choo, but maybe i can help.

The last time I cleaned that screen was before the capsules came out, and I haven't removed that screen since. The only thing I've done is to swab out the chamber with an alcohol prep pad or sometimes with an alcohol soaked q tip. It really doesn't get dirty when you use the capsules.

And like mentioned here more than once I removed the cooling unit screen. After a half dozen or so loads I swab the cooling unit around the screen area. And much less often I clean the entire cooling unit.

Hi Folks,
Have a question for those a lot more familiar with the Mighty than myself. I bought mine recently and enjoy it however I now have the ability to get a new 2018 unit for under $200. I checked the serial numbers and all with S&B to make sure it isn’t a fake and it is a legit unit. I am tempted to grab it but if the one I have is going to last 4+ years, won’t it be pointless to grab one regardless of price point? Thanks!

mightys are very durable. I've been following this thread for ages and the fails pretty much are battery, esp. for people who use them multiple times a day, or the 'fins' breaking. there are a very small # of reports of the case starting to split.

mine's 3 years old. the battery's a little the worse for wear, but that's it. S&B made a good product (the VW bug of vaporizers?).

I was hoping for the MB 300TD of vaporizers :)
So should I leave the bargain for another or get another and have “two in the driveway” so to speak?

Christmas is coming up. And you've been working hard and deserve two mighty's.

I actually have two now. I bit on the recent sale, plus I still have our old mighty. When the old one fails I'll trade it in. I haven't told my wife I bought another but for the last two evenings we've used the new one and she hasn't noticed, lol. Btw I really like the new mighty, but my old one and I share a lot of history. Like an old t shirt you don't want to throw out.

I was strategic in picking my name for sure!

I'm in the same situation as you but with a crafty (161 € in the black friday of namastevapes)
I have not yet paid and I have one month to do it ...
It turns out that I already have, besides others: - a mighty and a crafty which I have already changed the battery and is in need of another, besides having its shell broken).
I also just bought, also at namastevapes, a Plenty for 151 €.

I haven't told my wife

Of course money is not born under stones, but to tell it to my wife is easy. She also spends € 40 every month in the hairdresser and does not get younger:D
