The soldier went back to his homeland ,the bike was left behind , at a basement in Greece .

So when my dad discovered this bike ,he serviced it a bit and took a ride with it .
When I asked how was it ,he replied :
" It was an awful bike ,I remember .Crazy fast and without any decent breaking .
Very dangerous ! That's why I sold it ! "

Me : "How much did you sell it then ,dad ? "

My dad : " It was a piece of shit .
During a summer -few years before you were born - a tourist asked me if I'm selling this bike
and ,of course , I replied yes .I sold it for 100 Drachmas * ,back at 1970 or was it 1971 ? "

( Today's worth of 100 Drachmas @ 1970 : About $300 )

Me : " So dad ,you sold a bike worth of > $ 100 000 for just $300 ? "

My dad ( with his eyes ready to pop out from their cavities ) : " .......... "

Well ,I almost had the chance of owning a Vincent bike .But .....

I got the m17 on sale a minute back. Am I missing much compared to getting the m18 tip or the Ti tip? Or can I just stick with the 17 tip?

Stick with your M17. The differences between tips are subtle and they all vaporize your herb of choice beautifully. We all comment on the difference between this tip compared to that tip, but they are all fantastic.

You won't be left feeling wanting with the M17.

Having said that, many of us enjoy collecting a few, or many, Dynaverse bits and pieces or compete units because of the fun factor.

We're a fun group of people....:D It's the way we roll.

my Shadow M got delivered today! Took a few pics of the awesome envelope, then opened it up. Number 4079!

As soon as I take it out of the tube, the cap fell off. Then i spend several minutes looking for it on the carpet. It managed to go under a shelving unit. After getting on hands and knees to retrieve it, I was in so much pain, I needed some medicine. Knowing that I still had to clean it, I used the Mighty.

I had read about loose caps, so i knew about the possibility and was ready for it. I'm unable to use L hand for a couple more weeks. Right hand is in pretty bad shape. I don't have the finger strength to squeeze it enough to bend it. I ended up sticking it into a vise out in my garage, for a more controlled squeeze vs pliers. I really didn't think it would require that much force, but to be fair, a mechanical keyboard feels like a lot of force in my current medical state. I wouldn't expect most people to have that issue.

Seriously though. If a loose cap is a known issue, why doesn't anyone check to make sure there is some tension before shipping? Such a simple thing, but it would have made my initial experience with it, significantly better. Probably would have been able to even clean it, and use it today if I didn't have to mess around with the cap. Again, the average person shouldn't have any issues beyond a few seconds of squeezing. I'm just a medical mess.

I'm pretty much done for the day now due to pain. (from other stuff, not just messing around with the cap) Tomorrow, I look forward to cleaning it, and testing it out.

Vapcaps are tiny and more easily pocketed compared to the bulkier egg shaped Vapman.

Vapcaps are easier to clean. No screwdrivers are required to dismantle and clean the screen.

Vapcap air path is titanium, SS or glass. The Vapman air path is wood.

Vapcap airflow is more easily controlled with one air port. The Vapman has three but they are awkward to cover with your fingers.

The Vapcap creates a slightly smoother vapor.

The temperature indicating click of the Vapcap cap means no combustion compared to the Vapman.

The Vapcap can be heated by just about any heat source whereas the Vapman must use a single jet lighter.

The Vapcap is easier to load and doesn't require a shield to prevent sloppy loading and burnt bits.
Cot dayum @Squiby !! You hurt my feelings and got me excited at the same time! I don't want to retire Vapman... But if you're correct on majority of your points, then Vapman may get put to rest! More anxious than ever for my shipment!
I prefer stems with no air port. I use a mouthpull technique where I pull vapor into my mouth before inhaling with fresh air. This creates a super smooth cool vapor.
hmm interesting. So with a different technique your draw would more harsh /warmer?
If I like the dynavap, I can already see my future collection ..

Ahh, the joy and sorrow of decommissioning an old friend. I'm hoping the ghost mv1 will be a suitable replacement for my Mighty!

My Vapmans are lovingly tucked away. I may sell a couple eventually but I will always keep one.

There are many ways to use a Vapcap. It's a very versatile vaporizer. I'm a life long severe chronic Asthmatic, so my lungs are very sensitive.

Smoking joints left me in bad shape. Then as vaporizers became available I found that they were less harsh than smoking, but still problematic. Then I discovered the Vapcap and not only fell in love with the asthetics, tiny size and the interchangeable components, I found that Vapcaps are able to deliver the smoothest coolest vapor when using a degummed hemp fiber filter and a mouthpull tehnique.

The mouthpull technique works best with air flow restriction. I pull the vapor into my mouth before inhaling it along with cool fresh air. I take small tokes and I never cough or experience harshness. I also cure my bud for a good long period which also helps to deliver smooth vapor.

There are a lot of reasons why I love my Vapcaps but the lack of lung irritation stands firmly at the top.

Looks like I will be accompanying an anxious Bud to one of two marijuana dispensaries
East of the Mississippi in the morning. In Noho.

Hope the lines are not 3+ hours long.

There is hope, another dispensary will soon be opening in Easthampton, a few miles down the road from Northampton.

Two within miles of each other. Another one near Worcester, soon to be followed by Boston, and Salem.

WOO-hoo!

They are mushrooming like crazy! :bigleaf: :spliff::spliff::spliff::cheers::spliff:

Now that is a C*I*V*I*L State!

can you get this anywhere in EU maybe?
shipping from outside is a pain.

No EU source that I am aware of. But: I am also from the EU and ordered there without any hassle. Shipment was very quick and (because of the low price) it will probably not get stuck at Customs. At least it came through without issues for me. Where are you located, if I may ask? I have a spare DDave water wand here that I do not necessarily need. Maybe we can work something out? But it has a 14mm joint, not 18mm...

This is how my spare one looks like (tip not included):

So while I'm waiting (im)patiently for my Shadow Ms to arrive I'm doing lots of reading. Induction heaters seem to get lots of love. DV looks like they'll be releasing one sometime, possibly soon. Flux Deluxe is coming out soon. Portside Mini is available now and gets great reviews. Should I order one right away or just focus on starting with lighters? I want to make the transition from combustion to vaping as easy and successful as possible, especially for my wife. Vaping will be my holiday gift to the both of us this year, an investment in better health! Thanks for your opinions and suggestions!

omni XL struggles continue:

A question: When adjusting the omnii mp, at some point the carb hole doesn't have any effect, correct? does the carb hole only come into play when the omni is wide open? If you close the airflow the condensor extends down into the tip and seals off the airflow from carb opening? does that sound right?

I tried cleaning up threads withe @mrb 's good tip on using some scotch bright pad and to clean up threads. It helped and sometimes I'd turn it and it would feel smooth. I think the actual part of condenser that goes up to the MP tip where you put your lips (the part of the condenser above the threads, is ever so slightly bent and even with cleaned up threads some of the gritty feel is comeing from the top of teh condenser scraping the inside of the mouthpiece. So after giving it my best thread massaging effort, not much improvement.

I contacted vendor to exchange for one with threads that aren't like gravel. They're awesome and I'll always buy from them if possible.

So I break down the omni again to super clean to send back. after cleaning it all and reassembling to send back. it feels like this cleaning helped it more than all the hour or somethig I spent polishing threads and the condensor tube etc. so I was like wtf. is this working now? so it was able to adjust the MP better while assembled. that's where my buestion about the carb hole comes from while I was trying to dial in the right setting and keep testing teh movement of the MP.

So because I had it all disassembled when I put it back together I say well just a tiny test to see if something helped in the last cleaning. so when I put in the screen I try one of the "smaller" notches. I've read all the compliants of the Ti tip notches being a pain and finicky, but it seemed like I got the smaller chanber set up and in there. I go about my tiny testing, couple of cycles on the last one I get a big inhale of abv in my mouth and start hacking up everything. I look inside the tip and the screen had rotated to be parallel to teh side walls. letting all the material go free down the tube... I read peope hating on the Ti screens too in addition to the adjustable ridges of thte Ti tip... but man am I having all the troubles with this omni.

I haven't even really got a chance to experiment with the M that much yet. I have a regular XL condenser and spinning MP on the way.

Prob gonna take teh vendor up on swapping out the omnixl even though i got it adjusting a little better... just kinda feel like bad mojo with this one now...

Bad news for me. Got an email yesterday from dynavap saying that my BF order had been flagged by their automated payment system as a potential fraud!!!! I was so disappointed, even it was my birthday, and somehow I was more expecting something like, ok your order is on its way...
Anyway, they offered me the same.discount as before if I was still interested, but I had to proceed with a new order again with individual links they will send me as some products are no longer available.
Also they said that I had to send an ID picture and also a photo of my payment card with the last 4 digits and the name.
Does this happened to any of.you guys before? Too much hazard really. It is my first time ordering directly from dynavap, as I am in.Europe and usually order from retailers we all know.

IH's do get lots of love. I recently got one and to be honest i don't use it...

It's big (compared to a lighter in your pocket) and gives no better results than i get with the lighter. I have to charge it which means regularly remembering to charge it or forgetting and being disappointed....

A lighter is tiny to carry and takes a second to refill before you grab it and go, or take two if it's gonna be that kind of day...

Also as an ex smoker, there really is something more satisfying about the process with a lighter i think.

The IH is better for subtlety... But the need for that depends on the company you keep and/or the legality in your area...

I'm not knocking the IHs, and i know mine will see more use, just offering a counter to the retoric that sometimes knocks around claiming it's a total game changer...

I think an ex smoker would be better off starting with a few pocket friendly lighters in double and triple configuration.

A second vote to start with a lighter. I have an IH I RARELY use anymore. Lighter will give you much more control over which part is heated, allowing you to dial in your flavor or cloud hits. Another option, albeit a more expensive option, is the woodscents log from @edstnt (Can never get his name to come up!) which is made to work with any titanium tip vapcap.

Sorry you are having trouble. I adore my Omni, so I would say stick with it. The Omni closure system will not close off the carb hole all of the way. Maybe like 90%? Honestly I often leave it open anyway, since it’s not hard to put my finger (or a rubber band) over the carb hole, but there are times it’s nice to close it up and take mouth pulls like a joint, or close it up for use with a water pipe (although you have a @DDave water wand for that, right?).

Bad news for me. Got an email yesterday from dynavap saying that my BF order had been flagged by their automated payment system as a potential fraud!!!! I was so disappointed, even it was my birthday, and somehow I was more expecting something like, ok your order is on its way...

Sorry to hear you are still having troubles!

I guess grit/dirt inside the omni mp could have been grinding on the condenser as it runs up through the MP, making your issues worse before the clean..

When i smoothed the threads of my omni condenser with a scotch pad... I used high quality from a hardwear store rather than cheap shit on back of cheap sponge (not saying you didn't) and also 3 mins of spinning in a drill probably equates to 3hrs of manual effort.

You are correct in principal when you describe how the omni works/adjusts, but many/most find their omni will only close off the carb/air hole 95% not 100%.

Finally - im afraid you just didn't sit the screen correctly in the grooves for it to end up sideways... Unless you really jammed you weed/load in there it shouldn't just do that on its own.
The finicky process of screen setting really is my only grip with the vapcap. Others berate me for this and offer suggestions of all their tricks, but I'm a highly competent and dexterous fella (who has successfully set his screens for 20+ months) and in my opinion it is more of a pain than i want it to be!
I find the SS screens WAY easier than the TI screens, and also find resetting old/used ones harder than fresh new ones.

I hope you stick with it! All i can say is that the first time i rolled a joint it took ages and was awful... Then one day i could roll a perfect cone in the wind and rain with my eyes closed... Vapcaping is similar in many ways, and it's worth learning.
