ACE OF VAPE

Vape outside the box
Manufacturer
Hey all, I haven't been on the forum for years, but I am writing with a bit of a safety question.
I emailed epicvape on the 18th of November but have received no response.

Below is what I wrote to him much easier than typing it out again, any thoughts would be welcome on the safety question and of course a response from him would be appreciated but I guess maybe with it being thanks giving in the US and close to Christmas he could be busy with orders.

Hello,

I wonder if you can help me, I bought my enano from you in 2009 I believe, possibly 2010, using this email address if you want to look me up on your records
I am based in the UK.

I know I have a v1 enano certainly its not the latest model because it doesn't have a removable power cord.

The reason I am writing is because recently I have noticed the entire metal inside of the enano has begun to move if I tip it upside down to empty out
any spent herb, in fact if I grip the part where the stem goes when its cold I can raise it up and down with my finger and thumb or even turn the hole
metal inside round like if I was turning a key.

I would like to know is the device still safe to use? I just have visions of the metal inside dropping out when its burning hot after use as when I tip
it upside down I can hear the metal part move and drop down then go back once I tip it back the right way up. also what are my options for repairing it
if it even can be that is.

I am in the UK so not sure how risky it would be to ship it back or if it would be even worth it because of shipping costs etc.

the metal bit certainly doesn't come out entirely or even close to it.

I would appreciate any advice you can offer.
Hello Alex,
Welcome back to the forum.
If your vape is a very early version, it might not have the screw to hold the metal in, they were added in the second run of Nano's. As far as safety, the worst thing that could happen is if it possibly moved enough to short out a wire. It would be extremely difficult, but I'm not saying it couldn't happen. If it did, the triac in the dimmer will blow out, and you'll have a dead Nano. I would suggest Emailing Customerservice@epicvape.com and Nadia will inform you of a reasonable upgrade path.
For a quick temp fix you could wedge a toothpick between the sleeve and the wood to hold the sleeve in place.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I have been back and forth between flower and concentrates lately, with much of my time in the shatter and sauce end. Oh, my method of intake is still very much the nano. Even with some bouts of VAS in the portable area, I still have no interest in any other plug-in as my home base vape. I like the gradual release of medicine you get from concentrate-soaked cotton in a nano gong compared to a dab or some other method. I much prefer the use of cotton in a gong. I really have not liked putting conc in a bed of herb. Since I turn the nano up a half-step for conc, I find the higher temp tends to roast the herb too much for my liking. It also tends to make a mess in the gong.

Lately I have taken a strong liking to the cleaner feeling session I get with conc. When vaping flower there seems to be more lingering odor and always lots of ABV bits all of the place. I also prefer to inhale and "puff" less times per session. While I enjoy a nice session, my throat tends to get irritated by lots of vape puffing, even through water.

Some concentrates have more flavor than others, while flower does tend to have a more natural and full flavor.

Maybe my tastes will flux back and forth, but right now I wouldn't mind buying only concentrates. I have never even tried rosin, but have recently considered getting a rosin press and converting most of my current stash into rosin. I can get flower at a very reasonable price right now. All this and I've never even tried rosin. It just sounds so good. Recently I have been letting myself get wooed over at the Dabpress thread. In only one year they have come quite far in their designs and wonderful looking presses.

Right now I have been dipping into some GG4 pull and snap and also some GSC terp sauce. They are so nice through the nano at about power 6.5.

Vape on my brothers and sisters. :peace: :spliff:

BTW, my kids recently watched the rated G Emoji movie. I don't remember seeing this guy walking around --->:spliff:
Not to mention my sadness for :goat: being left out again. They hate on him.

Personally I like flower more but I use concentrates exclusively in the enano. Live resin on cotton and I only have to clean after like 40 bowls. Flowers and I am lucky to get 4 loads before iso soak is needed on the screen.
Arizer air and I can just dump the vaped bud and get a similar number of bowls

Wow, I can't believe it finally happened, somehow the 18mm GonG for my nano sailed towards the tile kitchen floor and boom. Shard city!

Luckily I still have 2 14mm's but damn, too bad.

Sampling some very fine CBD flowers today, very tasty at low temps in the dry stem!

Hello,

I just emailed about the BFCherry Flash Sale. I wanted to change my order that I placed a few hours before I saw the sale. Is it too late to change to this? I am unsure of how to edit the order, and it seems I may have already been charged. Let me know what the best course of actions is. Thank you so much!!

Welcome to the thread @dagfp . Sounds like you took good advantage of the 20% off sale. How often you need to switch out screens is based on daily use, how you clean them and how careful you are as you put them back in. I can keep a screen going for months. I torch them to clean them but many others soak in iso. After several cleanings of taking them in and out they begin to lose their round.
!

thanks for the detailed reply, friend.

a lesser person would have just said "it depends" and left it at that.

i will take care of the screens the best i can but putting in a fresh new basket will be tough for a cheapskate like me... the feeling of being thrifty using a beat up screen will probably be more satisfying than putting in a pristine screen and reducing my inventory.

plus i enjoy the wabi sabi aspect of less than perfect items. whatever damage my stuff accumulates is okay because it's completely unique to my stuff and holds the memory of my use. on that note, also looking forward to a nice shapely battle scar crack in the wood that i can show off like an mma fighter shows off their cauliflower ears

btw... has anyone tried these prototype stems shown on the epicvape instagram?

https://www.instagram.com/p/BoSn0r9nyqQ/?utm_source=ig_web_button_native_share

i didn't see them on sale anywhere... though aesthetically pleasing i dont know how it would affect the vapor quality... maybe a little gentler as the vapor cascades around the bubbles?

@Hitomi Not sure if you’re addressing this post to us (members) or the company? Since this thread isn’t a sales or support hotline for EpicVape, I have to assume you’re asking other members who post here. The folks at Epic interact with the members here because they’re cool and they’re happy to help, but:

I always recommend dealing the company directly using their customer support contact (email/phone) listed on their website. This is always the quickest and most productive course of action, imo & ime. Since you’ve done that, I would expect a reply to that email long before I would expect an answer from them here on a public forum. If they did agree to give you what you want: a further price reduction on top of the sale price when you purchased, how many other people would come here and expect/demand the same thing?! That’s a dangerous precedent for EpicVape to set and surely not a sustainable business model.

It seems you ARE aware that the Cherry Nano flash sale was a FLASH sale? It was very clearly limited to the “First 10 Orders Only!”. I’m sure those 10 went pretty quickly at that price. If you placed an order for one a few hours before then it would seem that you were happy to pay the sale price for it at that time. Of course you’ve been charged! You were charged at the time you clicked “Buy” like every transaction. But now you’re not as happy as you were because 10 customers got theirs for a little less a few hours later?

If I bought an Enano on BF, would it be reasonable to then expect EpicVape to honour the $150 price from a Flash Sale on Sunday? Flash Sales by their definition are meant to generate a flurry of sales activity in a short timespan, or a “flash”. If you no longer want to pay what you agreed to, when you entered your payment method and went through the transaction process then requesting a refund would be your best (and only) course of action at this point. :peace:

@dagfp I have a few screens in rotation, so the old soaks in ISO when a new one goes in the stem. Using this method they have lasted years and still look brand new. Considering that each stem/gong comes with a screen, the extra 5-pack I got way back when will last until I’m dead. Not to sound morbid, lol! I know lots of folks like to torch them though; I started soaking when someone here suggested it. Try it out and see which method you prefer for longevity and then let us know! I also have to reshape them from time to time. :peace:

haha... harsh but fair reality check for hitomi. hitomi is a unisex name but judging by the avatar i am assuming hitomi is female... sometimes women are so used to getting rules bent for them in real life that they don't realize their cuteness/hotness doesnt translate through the internet and they won't get the preferential treatment they are accustomed to.

thanks for the tip on the ISO. i will definitely be using that over a torch. gotta keep everything civilized when it comes to the enano... oddly enough i would tell people i didn't like vapcaps and sticky bricks because butane felt barbaric... only to later find out that enano users are all about the exact opposite thing in being civilized. i had to get one after that...

do you reclaim the goodies leftover in your ISO washes? is there enough to make it worthwhile with the stem gunk included?

Your sexist comment is really a reflection on your ignorance, as it's irrational to judge half the human population by one simple question. Good luck with your worldview. It would be a shame if the owners of this business were as irrational as you. There are plenty of other companies to work with, if so, as it's very easy to cancel an order.

You must do well with the ladies. :uhh:
He definitely does not represent Epics point of view @Hitomi
As for butane, quite a few of us here like to be Civilized, and a bit Barbaric. Mrs Fizz needs a Gentleman on the streets, but a freak in the bed. So sayeth the Ludicriss.:D
Wait, wat?
Got some Paris OG and Blue Dream TAG teaming me in the Nano and asst Butane driven vessels.:whoa:

Hey all,

Just got my e-nano in the mail. I've noticed that the LED light only powers on when the rotary dial is at about 7. Is that expected? Seems odd as the guide recommends starting at 6.5 but I see no power light there.

Also noticed I need to turn it pretty high to get vapor, is this indicative of a power issue or do you guys usually start around 7.5?

Thanks for the info, I figured as much, but I don't see any light until 7. Not getting much vapor until 8.5. Wonder if my cord isn't drawing full power or something?

edit: Actually it just burned at 8, so maybe it just takes longer to heat up/adjust than I expected... will test a bit more

I dream of Pizza
Have you tried it in the dark? Maybe you just got a low powered light?
Hope you figure it out, I think I've read of users that use their nano even though the light is busted.

Have you tried other Power outlets? Or any visible damage on the cord?

In other news...
Having my first tasting of Blue Dream with the nano, wow! Flavor power!
Berrylicious Blast through the Bubbler! Kaboom!

OK to be more specific 7 is where any light appears even in the dark, tested on multiple outlets. No visible damage. Gonna try leaving it at 7 for a while and test if it's enough to get vapor I guess

On mine I can see faint light at 1.5 which is basically the lowest setting where it clicks on. The light grows brighter as the dial is turned up. Yours may need attention

I have several units and if after being left turned onto seven for say five minutes and your materials not wet and still no vapor..........you have a faulty unit assuming it is not user error.

Be it the unit or the cord idk........try a printer cord for a quick check.

You would be well served, IMO, by calling them directly. It seems to me that they are one of the few vape companies that publicly publish a phone number.

Without perhaps as much vehemence as others, I have to agree that a flash sale of a limited number of items is exactly that and not subject to expansion or further inclusion.

But, I can't see that it will hurt to ask....just perhaps be prepared for the answer to be "no".

Didn't think a simple question would hurt so many feelings in this thread, strange....
FYI, they responded quickly, and I heard the word "YES" when I asked for a refund, which is in my right to do. Don't worry, I decided to choose a different vaporizer and company, which I am very happy with. There's no need quote me in this thread. Good luck with your vapes. :peace:

i for one, was offended by the excessively high level of tact, politeness and diplomacy you replied with

even for an enano thread... far too civilized for my liking

i feel kind of bad for indirectly sort of causing epicvape to lose out on a sale... i will have to buy another unit to make up for it

does anyone know if the Cherry wood flash sale is still going?!?!
