Firewood Vaporizer

I have an Arizer ArGo right now, and it takes me a good 20 minutes to get through 0.3g. Would be it be safe to say the FW5 is a much faster and harder hitter?

I'm also wondering about the performance in the winter. Any issues with the cold air for the heater or the wood? The ArGo definitely struggles a little in the winter, but it's ok once up to temp.

Definitely faster and harder hitting than Argo. Have both. Dont know about cold, will find out this winter. Assume its fine, heater doesn't struggle and always a hit first draw.

As for speed:

Wow. That handle don't lie, Mr. vapesalot haha. Do you have a portable storage solution for multiple trays or do you just store them at home and swap them out?

NiceInvasion - I haven't really street tested in the winter yet either but I will by this weekend if not before.

For speed I mostly just meant the amount of time it takes to clear a bowl. With the ArGo I load up two stems with 0.15g each and take a good 10 minutes per stem. I vape outside and it's getting bloody cold here, so I'd much rather carry something that can get through the same amount a lot faster.

Depending on the weed quality and kief content, temp setting, and length of draw, you'll get between 1-2 to 8-10 draws on each chamber.

Each draw can be taken pretty much back to back. As a heavy user, it takes about 2 or 3 chambers and I'm medicated. That's done in less than 4 or 5 minutes easy.

On the high setting, I get 2-3 draws with some purple kush that didnt finish ripening well because of some power and water issues I had late on the grow. Basically lower quality weed, and you'll get less draws (and not as nice flavor).

Add a little kief on top, though, and now you got 4 or 5 draws on the same high setting. Stir and you'll have another or two draws.

Well ripened, grown, OG Kush/haze hybrid with ridiculous amounts of trichomes is 4-5 draws without stirring on high setting as well. Add kief, and that's bliss. Lol. Couple chambers and I'm well medicated in less than couple-three minutes.

Other may get more or less draws, just depends on how much you want keep cooking material. Once stuff starts to taste cooked, I'm in for another hit, then done.

Major difference between Argo and FW5 is the latter is much less smelly too. Not that Argo is that bad.

As for tray containers storage, there has to be some out there. The trays are simple and square. I haven't found them yet. I load five trays and keep all in a draw with a couple units. The trays are great, like cartridges, so quick to change out...

Thank you, those are really helpful numbers. It's definitely a lot faster than the ArGo! I am very surprised you get less smell off the FW5. I always wondered if you'd get weed smells from the loaded tray since it doesn't seem to be an airtight seal. With the ArGo I keep the stem capped and spare stems in capped tubes, so all I really get is a little roasty AVB aroma after a session.

The FW5 is definitely sounding like it will work well for me. I am mostly just getting down to whether I'd like something sillier like a Mighty since I do intend to vape with friends as well. I guess the learning curve on the FW5 is pretty small though.

FW5 and some extra trays and batteries is hard to beat in a group, IMO. There's one button and basically no learning curve. Hold button, draw, slow down if units buzzes at you, and repeat....

Slide tray to next chamber as they cook out... chambers can be loaded loose to somewhat packed, not really too picky (say unlike an MV1), depending on material moisture content, quality, and grind.

Heat setting changes are quick and easy. Two quick clicks is low. Three quick clicks is medium. Four quick clicks is high. Unit verifies change by echoing number of clicks you entered.

Check battery by one quick click. Unit buzzes 1 to 5 times. 5 is full battery and 1 is dead battery. I change batteries at 3 buzzes, which is about 3.8 volts (down from 4.2 volts). You'll get 3 trays pretty easy before I change.

Cleaning is easy, once you take it a part a couple times. They give you a special tool to take apart but anything pokey will work. Standard pipe screens I bought mess of and change out every few loads. You can go a long time without cleaning without much impact on flavor, which is very nice.

I got my FW5 last Friday.
I've had the FW 2, 3, and 4 and all have been favorites at various times. The 2 was one of my very first vapes, after reading about it on these boards.
I wasn't going to get the 5, because I simply have too many vapes. But last week I must have read some of what folks were saying here and I've always loved this product line and so the VAS grabbed a hold of me hard. I ordered it on a Monday and had it on Friday.
Well boy was I missing out! I loved the capsule system of the 3 and the 4 for out and about and wasn't sure if I'd like this tray system but the tray system works really well. It's a small amount but I feel like I can get a lot of hits off one tray. It has probaby the most consistently smooth vapor of any vape I've tried. The best flavor is the first heat cycle or two but I get clouds every time and it's never harsh. This has become my favorite for walking around, it's really discreet, fits nicely in the hand, and is really easy to use. I like to run it at the medium heat setting for 3 - 4 heat cycles and then maybe bump it up to high for a few more cycles. It was cold here in the northeast and it worked real fine in the cold and snow on the way home today.
A real nice device, I'm glad I got one.
I went with the unfinished cherry.

Mine came across the country in 3 days.

Grind doesnt really matter. So long as you cover the screen, it will work fine. I have had really dry herb that was just like a powder. It was great. I've hand torn herb, just as great. Mostly I use a spacecase.

If you get a burnt flavor or hot spot, pack looser. Some herb can be packed down a bit though, and that will increase cloud size and no adverse flavor or combustion; i do it all the time...

If it is listed as in stock, and Marc is not traveling it should go out quickly- Mine was within a couple of days- tops- (what you are ordering is already in inventory.)

I have seen "out of stock" wood options come back into stock within 2 days.

Am in the Pacific NW, My FW2 Worked fine in all temps/seasons- including storm season out here with 30, 40 deg F. and rainy- we only have a portable heater, much to the cat's dismay!
FW2 was my first non butane vape, and yes, the covering the screen, but not too tightly packed seems to be a theme with the models.

So..here is my other question;

What are some good batteries to stock up on? I currently have 2x Sony 18650s rated at 20A. I would like 2 more for prolonged use.

I got my FW5 from @firewood and either I'm doing something wrong or it's not working right.

broke it down and cleaned it with alcohol when I got it. brand new LG h2's being used. Medium grind.

issue, seems to be not hitting like there may be a leak. At first I was going low and slwo temp wise and it was giving me very light wispy pulls. so then I wanted to let her rip one and tried at setting 4, prewarmed etc (basicallly gonna try to crush teh whole thing reall fast) and barely anyting

I the batery cover I take off and seemt o have a good seal between the glass tube and the L joint (if I hold it up like a pipe and put my finger over it it lightly pulls in on my finge skin, is this tight enough?).

I tried putting a credit card covering where the bowl goes and tried to check the seal there. If i just rest it there I can't suck hard enough to affect teh card at all. If I press the card down I can block a lot of pull, but I get a slight tiny draw of air. what type of seals should I be getting here? suck the CC onto the bowl area with no hands?

should I oild the orings? I def am not getting @paytonpenn or wavy or troy style rips of this no matter how much I try even on max temp with warm parts
