Dynavap VapCap

I have this idea for a stash.
I thought I would ask the smartest group of people I know. Neil de Grass Tyson and others spin a "boat shaped " piece of wood. If spun one way it stops spinning. If spun the other way it continues to spin. So what is the shape called? I want to make one.

These products have elicited an interesting internal struggle for me that has gone on since I first saw them a few months ago. I think they are gorgeous, stunning even, and are probably even more so in person. I love wood products both for how they look and how they feel. They are one of the more beautiful manifestations of nature for me, kind of a fingerprint. But, unless I am wildly mistaken these can't be real wood colors so that kinda kills the "natural" part of what draws me to wood.

It's a conundrum. I'll let you know how it comes out...

I just got a brand new Cap from a member and it is too big for my 2018 M .. It falls off easily when you turn it downwards.. Is there any change in VC sizes ? Is this cap a defective or an older model ???

Squeeze the open end of the cap, you can be a little rough with it. It should tighten up once you try to pop it back on.

You might have nine hundred and ninety nine problems, but your cap ain't one.

A Little sqeeze at the open end of the cap, to make it slightly out of round will keep your cap from falling off your VC

Btw this cap will be used only with an IH. I do notice a fair share amount of offgass which is typical for new metals,but it stopped after 5 cycles of heating while holding the cap with pincers. It didnt go black like the old one but is a nice amber color and still has a shine to it..
I am not a big fan of the vapcap,but i admit that using it with the IH brings the things to a whole new level.. It is actually my gf that is using it as a daily driver.. She prefers it over all other vapes we have, because it gives her independence .(probably meaning that ,i dont have to assist her,because i dont trust people with handling my only glass tool and my glass vapes ;d..

I believe some call it its “patina”.

It has been a while since I've posted here, but it doesn't mean there isn't anything to talk about.
In fact there has been so much going on it has been really intense.

The primary thing we have been working on is a bit on the dark side. Born from heat, fire and some molten salt with a little carbon and nitrogen for good measure.

We call it the ShadoW M


It isn't Black, but a very nice dark gray.

This seemingly simple change has been anything but. The idea has been in mind for over 3 years when the only metal part on the VapCap was the cap and the screen. I even made a very small number of black caps, but they were very difficult to process at that time. So the idea had to go into the holding area for a time when we would be better prepared to finish the development. As you can now see, the time has finally arrived. Actually that happened a few months ago as we began the evaluation and iteration process of figuring out the best way to process, clean and assemble this new version of our M.

So let's talk a bit about the process and the characteristics. The process of darkening metal to create the ShadoW M utilizes a molten salt bath. Yes, this is literally salt that has been melted and yes it needs to be very hot to melt.
when the steel or stainless steel (because these devices are constructed from medical grade Stainless steel)
is subjected to these temperatures in the molten salt, both carbon and nitrogen are diffused right into the metal.
This both darkens the metal surface and hardens it. In addition, it also changes the magnetic permeability and lowers the friction coefficient.
The way I compare this process to more normal things is to think of a black marker on your skin or paper. The black will soak right into either and won't rub off, so it is a permanent modification. The only way to remove this is to use a very hard abrasive and grind it off. Keys and other normal metal objects will not damage the treatment.

In other news, it is that time of year. And the ShadoW M will be headlining our Black Friday Sale.

Our sale will begin at 12:01 am Central time Thursday Morning and run through the end of the day Cyber Monday.

Yeah, I have a 2018M that I love, but all in black? Yes please.

I really hope you made a whole lot of extra black caps. I mean I want the Shadow obviously, but I also want black caps for my others too.

I am one of those here who often use the M stem together with a XL Omni condenser and a TI tip. That combination will look marvelous with the black stem and black cap. Yummy.

I needed an excuse for a second 2018 M to replace my 2017 version. Can't wait for it to go live, it looks incredible.

On another note, the video reminded me I want to look at new torches. What's everyone using at the moment? I'm using one of these:

The purpose is to vape flower I thought.....or if you are referring to the design theory of not needing a electricity....then cool But guess what....you can use electricity.....so what (but super cool).

But also...I do not understand as Hogni asked who else wanted to comment on how the like their IH (though then stated no further discussion was needed...lol)

So, do you like or not like the vapcap with IH? Or are you happy to defeat the purpose of the vapcap? lol

I was waiting for the highest % off of the M on BF. Then I saw the Shadow M. It'll probably be my only bf purchase..but it looks awesome! Excited about joining the DV family
