Perfect, thanks! Just when I thought my mind was made up too. Dumb question but if anyone could confirm, the coil that comes with the RDK 300 on the NV site works with the v-rod, right? I'd imagine it would but I can't find anything regarding the height of it.

NewVape said this recently:

I appreciate all the recommendations suggesting we have a look at the Auber controls. The auber 300 is a very nice enail controller. I have ordered more 5 wrap 20mm coils 110v and 220v with the auber pinout. The stand alone 5 wrap auber compatible 20mm coils will be available within a few weeks. Here's our enail pinout and connector blog post. Please let me know if I need to add or modify anything. https://www.newvape.com/blog/enail_pinouts_connections/

This was I believe in response to a question about buying these coils by themselves. Saying he ordered “more” 5 wrap coils for that suggests the Aubers they’re selling already come with appropriate coils. If you ordered the Auber controller from somewhere else though, it would come with a shorter coil.

If you’re still worried, just put your concern in an order note or give them a call tomorrow and they can clear it up. :)

As long as it is ordered from NV and not Auber it will work with the VRod. THe stock 20mm Auber coils from Auber will only work with the ShowerHead (and not the VRod)

Well technically the others *work*, but they’re shorter so they VRod is loose on them and may take a bit longer to heat up. NV showed that in their first Auber test video before they decided to stock them.

The coils from NV will of course fit best though. :)

Just saw the Vape Critics review for this. I'm considering getting one but not quite sure if it would be worth it for me as I don't have access to concentrates in my area and since I don't want to really bother with making them either I would just be using this as a 100% flower rig. Never used any enail type vapes before either so if anyone would like to comment on how they do with flowers it would be appreciated.

Oh also has anyone taken a look at the $85 ashtray you can buy for it? Holy shit it's expensive but my god it's gorgeous
flowerpot_case-2.jpg
You can just get the flower parts and not the kit. That's what I'm gonna do I think. As a desktop I think it works great. I've never tried it but from what I read and saw it's great.

I used mine all day yesterday and it hits great but i am having a huge problem . Every time i go to take the head and place it on my bowl for a hit , it gets stuck. I had to break out the pliers a few times yesterday to get it un-stuck. The company says there is a .01 gap between them but i don't think it is enough. It is fine when cold and does not get stuck but when heated i am guessing it expands. This has caused me to waste a few full bowl packing's as they got roasted quick while i was trying to pry this thing apart.
Use an adapter Don't break your peice Break the adapter if anything

Wiggle jiggle a bit if your stuck ;)

here's a couple of interesting videos between the nv & auber controllers.

It's nice to have a quality box to compare with.

The first one was before the autotune routine was run on the NV

This is after the auto tune process was run.

the actual autotune process is here

I'm tuning mine right now, once you let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes does that red light stop flashing? And when I turn it off and turn it on to use it again it should be all tuned correct?

I just received my VROD bundle with the RDK-300 and everything fits and works perfectly ! For those of you sitting on the fence with making this purchase I would not hesitate to move forward on this vaporizer. I watched the youtube videos on this by vapecritic and 420vapezone a few times. The video by 420vapzone - Troy sold me !
This thing is a BEAST ! Expertly made and takes your flower to another level. I own the Volcano, Mighty, FireWord5, Several Vap Caps and now the Flowerpot VROD. This is by far the best of the units I own. It has the efficiency of the Vap Cap but the performance of the Volcano-Mighty for cloud creation and production. Use just one scoop to barely cover the bottom of the bowl, set my temp to 600 F. and Holy Macaroni !! The best taste and clouds I have ever had. I haven't even tried the wax functionality yet. I went all in a got the bundle besides the case and water pipe. Here is what I have:

Flowerpot VROD
Round Metal Base - Perfect !
Auber RDK-300 - Great, I like the look and the auto-shut off feature for sure. I'm glad I went with this option.
VROD Carb Cap - I went with the 2-hole version and I am glad I did. Perfect amount of air restriction for heat without restricting inhale in any way. I can't comment on concentrate performance though.
SIC Dish - Have not used yet but have it assembled on the FP. Carp Cap fits directly over it.
Load Tool - I have it attached to the VROD Carb Cap and I'm glad I have this. It really is the perfect size for a single initial bowl plus it makes the Carb Cap much easier to handle for taking it on and off of the FP.
Coil Handle - Glad I have this for sure. Makes the coil easier and safer to handle plus it does look good with the system overall.

While the base that comes with the FP is perfect for all of the pieces and options that come with the unit, I was not crazy about dumping the ABV in the round center whole. I didn't want to have to clean it. So I added this ABV Ash Tray from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071JN4ZTV/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I hope it's ok to post that link here. It is all metal and fits perfectly into the round hole of the FP Base. Its nice and heavy too so it goes with the overall look and quality of the FP. Now I can dumb the ABV from my bowl directly into the Metal ABV container and dump that when needed... No Muss ... No Fuss.
Sorry for the long post. I just can't say enough about this system and having something that will last many years. Great job @newvape918 @NewVape710 and team !

Hey lads !

Been using my flowerpot showerhead for a while, now, and I'm pretty stoked on it.

However, I'm really eager to try the vrod version, and I'm probably take the black friday opportunity to upgrade my setup, and purchase a few things.

Can I use my original newvape coil that was provided with the showerhad, or do I have to get a new one ? I'm curious about the new controller, too, but I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to buy it this time.

Also, if anybody has been experiencing with different size of pearls, and different hole number for the carb cap, every information is welcome. I'm ordering from France, so I can't really afford to place an other order 1 month later because I made the wrong decision. (ship/customs...)

Props to Newvape for being close to their customers and getting involved in actually improving their products on a regular basis.

Peace.

I really hope that everyone at NV has a great Thanksgivings with lots of food & football & flowerpots!
I’m sure the days after one of your sales are nothing but hectic and stressful with everyone hustling to get orders fulfilled and out the door. But I guess that’s a pretty good problem to have actually, lol!

Recently had a shipping question through the website’s support and when Lori answered, she gave me another good suggestion, it was this: Don’t forget to sign up for the NV newsletter. I’ve been registered at NV for a long time but hadn’t signed up for the newsletter, just because I don’t usually ask for more stuff to land in my inbox. But this is information that I actually care about! Plus Lori told me to. So I did it.

Thought I would recommend it for those here like me who just have to know all things NV.

Anything unique about the glass bowl? Already have a bunch of bowls and prefer glass over metal. If any owners could share compatibility measurements that would be awesome.
All New Vape bowls are great so your bowl will be exceptional no matter what you get. Personally I prefer the adjustabowls and I have the glass bowl with a built in glass screen which is very good. It comes down to a preference or choice. If you prefer glass over ti then you have that option.

All the bowls are very good imo.

Yup, I'm with Steama on that ^^^. I have a 14mm glass bowl ordered from NV. I'm a flavor snob and can taste a subtle difference, but the NV bowls are robust and just look and taste great as part of the kit. The glass bowl has more play with the tolerance while mating with my Showerhead, but doesn't bother me in the slightest. Both great!

Thanks for the reply, sorry don't think I was clear in my post. Hoping a glass bowl that I already own will work with the FP and avoid having to purchase any additional bowls from anywhere.

Trying to find out dimensions of the one the NV offers.

I understood your post. I posted what I did because I would just pick up the NV glass bowl. I have scads of old glass bowls and still went for the NV glass bowl...it will function much better in the long run. If you have the flower pot then just go through your bowls until you find a fit.

Sorry I don't have a pair of calipers at my desk. The NV glass bowl is of a very high quality and I would be surprised if one of your old bowls would compare. Also the NV glass bowl is only $20, very inexpensive for a bowl like this.

Hey @NewVape710 & @newvape918

I’ve got a question for ya about NV’s Auber RDK-300 that you’re offering. Why do I HAVE to buy the controller and coil together? I don’t understand why a customer (me) can’t just buy the controller separately like all the other controllers you sell? It’s only offered as a combo package under BOTH of the pages Flowerpot Parts AND Enail PID Controllers, whereas none of your other controllers on the Controller page are sold in this manner.

Is this just a simple oversight? Or intentionally sold only like it is? I’m not trying to be confrontational or rude; I’m only seeking to understand what exactly is going on since its availability on NV.com is a very recent development. I was about to email Lori@support again about this, but I know a few other members want to know and would buy it through NV if it were sold like the other controllers on your website.

I can only speak for myself though and I would most definitely buy the RDK-300A from NV, but only without the bundled coil. If the RDK-300A is only offered as a combo with NV, then I’m willing to go through Auber because I already have the correct coil for the Vrod and I want to support another small American vendor who has long been a fantastic part of the FC community just like NewVape has been.

So I won’t be buying any coils anywhere else, but rest assured the vast majority of my BF budget is all yours, lol. And tbh I’d much rather just give y’all another $100 since you’re a vital part of the community and Auber Instruments isn’t. I hope you get I’m not trying to be a dick, just trying to give y’all more money!

We will have the auber compatible vrod 20mm coils available by themselves in 1-2 weeks. They's been ordered. I've also ordered them in 220v

Thank you for your support and continued business.

He’s looking for the controller with no coil since he already has a compatible one, so if you can split it up for him you’ll have 1 coil available now. :)

@newvape918 & @NewVape710 ^ This ^ Thank you @VaporWare

I don’t want to buy the coil separately, I have a 220v coil that is compatible with VRod and Auber. I do not want to buy the compatible 220v coil without the controller. I want to know if NewVape will sell me the controller without the coil. I thought my post was clear about that? Please read it again and I will try again to better explain myself below:

Why is this PID controller the only one that NV sells that forces the customer to buy a coil with it? In your shop, under Enail/Enail PID Controllers, you’ll see exactly what I mean. It doesn’t make sense to me. Why wouldn’t NV make both controller and coil available separately or together so that your customers can decide what they want for themselves? Why wouldn’t you take the money for both situations, those customers buying the single PID & those who want to buy a combo?

I’m willing to go through Auber if this is the only way to get the RDK-300A by itself; that is, if your website won’t let me buy only the items that I want. But that is not my preference, I would rather be able to buy everything I need (controller included) from NewVape except for the coil. I’m not alone on this.

I feel like the way it is now, NV forces the customer to buy a $50 coil in order to get the controller he/she wants. Since I am already spending ~$400 with NV, it makes sense to me I’d rather give you guys the additional $100 and be done with it? But I will buy it at Auber in order to get the setup I want. Thanks for your time and consideration spent on my question.

@pxl_jockey I apologize if I misinterpreted your message. NV will sell both the rdk300A and the vrod compatible 20mm coils 110 and 220v separately in a few weeks.

@MAbud the 1-4 holes allow different air flows. We couldn't get a definitive answer on the ideal number of holes so we decided to just offer all them. I can report that only one hole is required to get the pearls spinning. https://www.newvape.com/vrod-carb-cap

Billet Flowerpot Case. I'll look at redoing the cnc case. Do you think the case should include a pocket for the glass bowls? A small custom pelican case with a laser cut foam cutout would be much cheaper and more friendly for the glass bowls. The one benifit to the cnc case is that is has a heat post. However I can't imagine that really being used. Bottom line is that after we got our laser and the ability to do quality foam cnc cutouts we put the cnc solid aluminum case on the back burner. That being said there's something people seem to like about that cnc billet treasure chest. It's been a challenge trying to keep that cnc billet case updated and in stock with all the changes the flowerpot has seen over the past year. Now that the designs have stabilized I'm open to updating the billet treasure chest. Other than just looking cool sitting on your desk what is it that you like about the case? https://www.newvape.com/flowerpot-caddy

Sale Update: The holiday sale will run fri thru monday. It's unlikely that we will have another sale this year. The actual discounts will be announced via newsletter and a post on our site later today. Just a hint our newsletter subscribers will receive a slightly more generous coupon code than what will be posted on our homepage. We are attempting to bring our newsletter into the forefront of our business. We plan on using the newsletter for releasing all future products and promotions. The newsletter signup is located at the bottom right of the NV site.

Thanks so much for the response. Maybe I’ll go 2 hole on the cap?

As far as the case it is totally a form vs function. I agree a peli makes sense especially with the glass bowls. But the billet to me is a truer representation of what New Vape, New Vape. If that makes sense? It more showcases your work.

Short answer is I would likely buy both. But anything smaller and better suited to not hold a WP would be a big win and likely something people would pick up

I have the 2 hole version of the VROD carb cap. I have found that when vaping at a higher temp which for me is above 600F having the 2 hole version works well. I have been testing at lower Temps and found a way to block 1 hole. Having 1 hole at lower Temps allows for denser clouds and still does not restrict draw speed or resistance. This is still using only flower. I have not used this with concentrates yet.

If you are in the area, you are more than welcome to stop by and test some vapes out before you buy.

All depends on what you want.
I like thick, delicious vapor using micro loads and complete the load in one hit.
The Plenty is a great session vape but it just took too long for me. The FP was just more versatile and conservative with herb use.
Everyone is different in what they like and how they like to use a vape.
Sometimes testing before is the only way to see if it is a good fit!

The FakeXhale was one of VapeXhale partners that sold not authenticated stock, most did not work correctly...

You can only pick them up through NewVape for now.
And with Canada Post strike, who knows when it will be delivered...

Hey @lazylathe

I usually load my flowerpot fully filling the bowl, and I can get like 6/7 hits at 620 temperature.

I guess I should try the way you do it, little charge and full extraction in one hit....how much you put in the bowl and which temperature you use?

As you guys know, I'm still experimenting with the FP. Sometimes I load the bowl so the flowers barely cover the titanium screen and can get like 3 hits at 620 (I find 620 a tasty temperature and thick enough clouds, over 650 I feel the taste a little harsh).

Any recommendations for harder hitting???

Thanks guys!
