Loss of interest for water filtration...

That is a shame I for one will miss those great snapshots. But hey, do whatever needs be to feel comfortable we have you back again. Although I was holding out, (praying) that my long and painful wait was over and I would soon again feast my eyes upon Ataxian's colourful poolside shots.

I think now I will have to go back in time and have a right old gander at some of your past memorabilia.
I was born 2 the right family & geographically located!
Glass since 2012.

I have a lot of glass 4 some?

I quit my hobby of photography so I don’t offend!

LIFE OF BRIAN featuring: John CLEESE is wonderful in this film!

Everytime I try vaping dry I'm quicky reminded why I love water filtration so much. Dry vaping just irritates my throat too much that I can hardly finish the bowl, while water-filtered vapor almost not at all, it's been a game-changer for me. I'm not losing the interest in the slightest.
agree!!!

Does using water filtration eliminate the need for hemp/cotton cloth to avoid particulates as I read elsewhere on this forum. Dry vaping irritates my chest big time and putting the vape through a water pipe seems to me might be the proper way to filter out or at least make dry vape less harsh?

I have an Extreme Q

Threw a firefly 2 in the garbage because it irritated me so much plus I think the short path between bowl and mouth piece might not be the most "health conscious" type of design and I'm looking for health above all else in vaping or combustion and I want to leave combustion for good but I don't want to increase the number of inhalations to an extreme degree which I think could possibly make vaping worse than combustion if inhalations are multiplied enough to increase irritation.

I realize there's a fine art to this as I've had nothing but negative effects with dry vaping in the past and now I'm giving vaping a final shot again!

Plus, what is the absolute best vape for health and best set up?

Health above all else!

Subjective question, IMO rosin press + e-nail. Flower vapor still has combustion smoke of various compounds in the herb that burn below the vaporization point of the cannabinoids we seek. Removing plant material in a solventless, mechanical extraction is the best method I've found so far. Much smoother as you are not inhaling burnt starches, sugars, tannins, etc.

Thanks for the advice? Is rosin full-spectrum or is it similar to C02 cartridge extraction?
Do you use a water piece with the rosin?

Very full spectrum, it's a mechanical extraction not a chemical extraction. Basically you just melt the oils out and filter them through a bag. Very clean, smooth, tasty.

I use a water piece, sometimes dry.

I'm going to have to look into this as I like that it's just heat and a press. I've stayed away from all the new stuff like wax and such but I'm at the point now I want to find the healthiest best of the very best.

Does your tolerance go pretty high due to it being a concentrate?

I think what you said about inhaling burnt starches, sugars, tannins, etc. is probably 95% of the reason flower vaping causes irritation issues.

All vapor is concentrated whether using flowers or extracts - extracts just have less plant material which makes the numbers test higher.

It is possible for tolerance to raise because the ease of delivery is quite a bit smoother, but it's not that hard to keep tolerance in line either.

I think anybody that has been vaping for a while that isn't an iron lung type will ultimately reach these irritation issues. Hash making via mechanical separation has been practiced for thousands of years so it's pretty safe. Rosin is just a filtered version based on traditional hashish techniques.

Thank you so much for your expertise in this matter! Btw. I like the shofar on your handle pic!

Almost there...
About a week or so ago I decided to add water to my WT again for a change.
The week has been a bit hectic and I did not have time to clean my WT, so I had a fair size booger floater in the WT.
Today was cleaning day and I did my usual, give the WT a sniff and WHEW!!! That familiar reek of water in a WT! It smells a lot of better when used dry!
No more water for me thanks!

@ataxian
Please keep posting in your normal manner! And the pictures as well!! Your pool pics are awesome!
Don't change for anyone!

I'm looking at the cloudious 9 it's got a lot of average reviews because it doesn't put out massive clouds but maybe since it's an all in one unit with water it might be worth checking out?
I tested extensively the Hydro9 and I wasn't satisfied at all cause vapor production, cause watertool cleaning, cause uncleanable vaporpath, cause leaks,.... it's a nice looking unit for sure but I think a Focus Pro with a cheap hydratube will do the job better.

I don't like it either, the cleaning part is ok but you have to draw way too hard on it and that's a serious functional issue with it, it will go to the garbage (recycle)

I am exploring the tinymight recently,it is kind of the first vape that ticks almost all my boxes for a portable and decided to give it a go i was surprised on actually how smooth the vapor is on direct draw.. Really believe in the magic powers of the Cooling Units ,but on the third bowl i experienced the good old knife in your windpipe feeling... <3 Water filtration for life !!!:myday:

My family doesn’t like my CANNABIS use?
It’s safer than most item’s?
In SOUTH AFRICA where acre’s of CANNABIS COLAS lined the foothill’s (COLINA’S in SPANISH) Durban POISON in the 70’s it was called?
NORTH of where I’m presently grow this same strain to make a strain called GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!
In order to be understood by the masses it is: GSC for short?
Been medicated dry lately however I need to break out one of my water pipe’s!

I use bongs with a very thin layer of water at the bottom, to add moisture. Not enough to cover any of the percolator tubes. It gives smooth vapor without losing taste and I can use the piece for weeks before It needs a clean. And when I clean, I usually scrape the oil and revape it. The best of both worlds

Sry for sticking my nose into your business, but from biological :D point of view,it is not a good idea to leave any ammount of water even for 24h. Buy i am pretty much probably worry too much about his kind of things so,so they might seem very important to me than they are in reality.I clean with hot water and soap before every session. If am going to store the wp i pour all the water i put a small ammout of alcohol in it and plug the holes.Works both for desinfection and prefention. I imagine you can reuse the same alcohol if you pour in a washed WP every time.
I am getting the impression for people using dry pieces thinking they dont need to clean them regularly that since they dont have water to host the bacteria and what about the area where the mouth meets the glass and the things that are flying all over it if/when you cough ? It is a pretty good place to breed bacteria. I admit that the taste is slightly muted but also things that spoil it are greatly reduced,so i take is a more refined, not weaker.
Drinking glasses are cleaned daily and more often after every use ,i dont see why hygene protocol should be different for any other glass vessel. When your mouth contacts the glass it leaves biofilm, that hosts bacteria,i cannot imagine putting my lips at the same place for 7 days without cleaning it.
------------------
Now i realise i am too baked and might have taken your words wrong, thinking you dont clean it at all for 7 days. Maybe by cleaning you mean "complete cleaning" with alcohol,salt,etc.. ,to get rid of the gunk.

Yes i didnt explain well xD I change the water everyday! I use reverse osmosis water and it gets bad taste very quickly. Otherwise I dont clean my glass daily. I am the only one using it so I clean it when taste is affected. First I scrape everything from the condenser and then I clean with alcohol and salt. If i use water then i will thoroughly clean on a daily basis.
