I’d try for another unit if they replied to me and let me. The fact that I had to make a stink to PayPal makes me hesitant because what if I have problems in the future with the second one? Would they just blow me off?

@Abysmal Vapor
Thanks for the tips. The TCR number is correct. The resistance wasn’t 000 I just forget what it was and won’t be home until tomorrow but I’ll check that then too. I left all the settings default figuring it’s best to try it the “stock” way before ever tweaking anything.

I really want to like this one. Checks most of the boxes.
Sorry to hear, hopefully they will get back to you soon and you can get this resolved.

Hey man, sorry about your device, I know that feeling of devastation after a long wait. Last week was the 2 year anniversary for the Tubo so FJ may have been overwhelmed by orders like the last 420. It sucks waiting some more after a long wait but FJ isn't known to ignore the CS side of his business. My unsolicited advice would be to give FJ a little more time, definitely pm @Padriano also. It doesn't sound to me like you would rather have a refund if given a choice of money or vape.

Great Scott!
They got back to me only after I opened a PayPal dispute. Funny enough the email references my post here on FC, so they did see it and just didn’t reply until I opened the dispute. For that reason alone I feel like I have no choice but to return it. I’ll always be wondering what happens if I have an issue etc. It just rubs me the wrong way and I need a device I can count on for heavy heavy use.

@darkrom thank you for your transparency. I feel you on needing reliability for heavy use, and can relate about communication uncertainty- I feel that way about two of the other popular wooden vape artists here- One of the reasons I started more seriously considering this vape, and adding to my quiver has been my need to be more realistic about my worst days.

I mean no harm and I think this vape is definitely cool, it’s perfect on paper. I’m just a lot sicker than I used to be in my more recreational days. To give an idea of what I mean, I sold my puffco peak after reliability issues because I am often 2 hours away from home. I found myself needing a backup oil rig.

With this vape I really WANT to tinker with it and use it around home etc, but I feel like if I’m out and about I’d need my mighty as backup. I simply CANT go without medicating anymore, it’s not just a “bummer” if I have equipment failure.

I just wanted to clarify why my posts may seem negative. I’m looking at this vape right now sad I have to pack it up but I just need the guarantee that I’m going to be alright when I’m 2 hours away from home, 3 days a week. It’s nothing personal, it’s just not suited for me because I need perhaps above average reliability and response I guess. If this became my portable vape and was down for a week, I’d be in trouble. I understand it’s artisinal so this is one of the risks of something that isn’t mass produced and they can’t just overnight me a new one under warranty etc.

Not trying to trash it I’m actually really a fan of the design but I can’t operate the way they do on such a small scale when it comes to my health.

@Abysmal Vapor how do you like the setup you have? Can you post info on it? How reliable has it been? I could see trying the pod or whatever on a vape that I can replace easily here in MASS. Like I said I really wanted to love this. I need on demand convection that rivals the mighty as far as reliability and hard hitting potency. I was originally waiting for the RBT thing but pulled myself off that list for a number of reasons. The mighty is wonderful but it’s not full convection but it’s also session and I’d like on demand.

So sorry if I seem like I’m negative. Just sad it’s not going to work out for my personal situation I guess.

@darkrom I truly appreciate your further transparency. I never had a rec experience myself, and though my health issues vary in degree, so sometimes I have the privilege of tinkering, after my and other health issues in my household changed, I came back to collecting vapes with expanded priorities, and more realistic ones considering my needs at my worst. I need mine to be reliable on the road as well.

Sidenote: I think I saw on here there's only about 3% Malfunction/Defective units ratio of all units out there.

If thats true thats pretty darn good.

Man I was really hoping the settings on the back of the batt. door would help. It is the Holidays though so along with their 2 year anniversary everyone has a personal life and I personally can't imagine doing Blue Collar work in the Month of December (I basiclly take off the last 3 weeks of the year)

Hey guys. I don't have a Tubo Evic, but I have been playing around with the tubomyevic firmware on a Cuboid Mini mod. I like the features, but there seems to be a bit of a learning curve to finding all the settings that I'm used to tweaking with ArcticFox/NToolbox.

I'm attempting to configure the mod so that it will work with a DC v3 atomizer (no particular reason, just the atomizer that I picked up to test). I want to set it for TCR 345. I have that configured as M1. Now how to I "activate" the M1 coil type? Don't see anywhere to set that. Seems like I am missing something real simple.

Edit: Never mind guys. While looking through the posts here I randomly ran across one that answered my question. Just setting M1 seems to do it, but just to be safe I set M1/2/3 all to the same value.

Does anyone else get a weak battery every single time? Even with a fully charged battery, at the beggining it says weak battery and some times it randomly pops up.
Also i get no atomizer message every once in a while and i have to switch the battery to a fully charged one.

I've noticed the weak battery message like that, it seems the initial draw for the coils can drop it enough to display it, however, it recovers quickly and shows a fairly accurate level.

Possibly annoying, but not a major problem in my eyes :science:

Have been loving the medium stem with the glass/insert/capsules. Very convenient for people like me that always have some ready!

When you order it you can add a Samsung 30Q. Not sure how that plays with shipping though. There is loads of advice on other threads for what 18650s are best though.

Yeah I saw that when ordering, thank you. At the time I just figured it came with but now im not so sure if it was a spare or the needed battery for it to operate.

I ordered the hand braided whip . Is it a random colour you get or do they match it to the colour of device you buy ? I couldn't see where to pick a colour when I ordered .
Cheers

That is what Private messaging is about: "Hey I want something in the xyz color so it will look good with my car/sofa/carpet/dog" pick one.

They will respond.

Hey guys, do you think the XTAR VP4 Dragon Plus charger is worth the extra $30 for the "Refresh mode" that claims to reverse the Memory Effects on Ni-MH batteries to restore them to close to new efficiency? My concern is if the device can do that well enough (or at all with High Drain batts that the TUBO requires) to actually reuse the batteries when the time comes or to just buy more batteries. My main goal is to have my TUBO function at its optimal preformance as often as possible but it would also be cool to be a little more "Green" in the sense of restoring instead of continuous buying new batteries and tossing the old in the battery recycle bins (that are getting harder & harder to find in the area w/o paying a fee.)

Anyone own that version? I need a new one anyway so it's between that and the VTC4.

How long do your batteries last you?

Not used any XTAR products so can't speak for it.

I haven't received the TUBO yet or the new 30q's but with what I think are jist normal 18650's that I use everyday for my Splinter w/IPV2 mod and they about 3 good sessions with the use of the Ecig atomizer throughout the day
Ive never really checked just flat out on the Splinter cause I bought it for the ability to just switch it out you know?

Since you'll be using Li-Ion cells and not Ni-XXX ones, you got your answer: no. Absolutely not the same chemistry and Li-Ion cells don't have any noticeable memory effect.

Gotcha, so essentially Samsung 30q's and ones of the like are not "normal" 18650 batteries if im getting this correctly. So do they just use the shell of an 18650 to house the Li cells?

No no, 18650 are AFAIK only Li-Ion. 30Q's are normal 18650. But the refresh mode you mention applies only to the older Nickel-XXX chemistries, which are not what you are going to use.

Ahhhh now I get it. Essentially some models (30q HG2) are just superior or more accurately just different 18650's then the ones that the DRAGON can "Refresh". Thank you very much for helping me understand and save $34.
