@mnd99 what @Foretwintee is right on the money. There are good and bad ceramics for our application. We make sure to use all medical grade materials in the MV1.

I know there are questions about the mouthpiece and the reason why we switched from glass to Makrolon. I hope this can shed some light:

We switched from Glass to Makrolon for 2 main reasons, these being Safety and Tolerances.

We had a few reports of customers breaking the mouthpiece inside the Heat Sink – possibly as a result of dropping it and we all know how fragile glass can be. CS also had a number of desperate calls from customers with only a broken mouthpiece and who couldn’t use the device for 2-3 days until we got a new one out.

In addition to fragility and safety issues, we also noticed a tendency for air bypasses to occur more easily with the original glass stem. We produce an oval as opposed to a circular stem and there are two fine ridges created during the manufacturing process with oval stems. These fine ridges are sometimes enough to create a small gap between the stem and the seal, leading to bypassing.

Tolerances are far tighter with Makrolon, so you always get a perfect seal and no bypassing. The material itself is heat resistant, both food and medical grade and is used extensively in kidney dialysis and blood filtration equipment.

There is no difference whatsoever in the quality of vapor drawn through Glass or Makrolon and neither one has an effect on temperature.

From the perspectives of safety and longevity, Makrolon wins hands down and as a responsible manufacturer safety has to be our primary concern.

We do appreciate that purists prefer glass, so we are making glass stems available as an accessory. To reduce the possibility of bypassing occurring, these stems are hand selected and very carefully checked. This in turn ensures that any small ridges are well within our improved tolerances.

@Slagzord have fun! Send pics!!!

I just opened my mv1 and damn, the silicone is super stinky and I can taste it. I had 2 ghosts previously and never once got that taste or smell. Any way to get rid of it? It's pretty potent

I'm so sorry, was that the sealed unit you got from a friend? I wonder how old it is. I'll pm you.

Heavens to Murgatroyd...the Ghost MV1 is a really impressive package from the minute it arrives. I like the DHL service a lot, it was stupid fast. The box came with the cruciblenholder, fast charger, battery, and the MV1 itself. The packing is very nice, the box is lovely. I just kinda took it apart to get the battery on the charger ASAP. The wait ended about 20 minutes ago. I am wicked blazed, but will return to that later.

The Stealth is sexy. And heavy. It really fits in among the Mighty and Crafty outer space powertool aesthetic, but much nicer. Like an Audi staring at a Lada. Or a Makita drill against Master Craft. The thing is a murdered out bludgeon that you use to chill out. I dig.

I took everything out that I wanted (concentrate pad) but thought the picks were s nice touch. I also disassembled and cleaned everything while charging. The thing is pretty simple, really. Assembly and disassembly wasn't as onerous as I had feared from some of the reviews. A little leary about the gasket, but otherwise I am impressed by the whole system. I played gently with the door for a bit and it will take a while to really get used to and comfortable with that mechanism. The crucible is fine. A little fiddly but I don't think it is much more annoying than packing most other vapes bowls. Getting the pack and load size and grind will require some experimentation but other than my second bowl which was very lightly packed it has been a treat. The stem is also totally alright. I would love for it to be black glass and fit just right. I am a tad worried about pulling it too far out and losing it. A back up stem in the package would be ideal.

The base level control scheme is actually awesome. The temps are more or less how I step it up on the Mighty or any other portable. I start somewhere around 170-175 and then go up to the mid 80s, then the 200s for some crushing. I don't really care that I need an app for degree be degree control nearly as much as the Crafty, which is again fine once you dial it in but particularly lacking. So the Ghost approach to the app vs. onboad controls is at the very least adequate and convenient. The temperature controls should come before the battery life indicator in my books (and I thought I read somewhere you cam change this through the app but I might be full of shit) but again this is minor. I would also like the option of dimming the lights and turning off the light while vaping. Easy enough to cover with your finger though. The thing fits the hand well, I gotta say.

The crucibles also cool down to a comfortable handling temperature remarkably fast. I really like that and I have not been afraid of burns after a reasonable 20 to 30 second wait after my last hit at the first red light. I can see how for some users it will be difficult or impossible to work this vape. I hope that can be addressed.

Any gripes I have with this vape so far are reqlly god damned minor. And I can't gripe about the vapour quality. Delicious. And the potency? An atrocity. I have been owned. I ran through 3 crucibles using different packs, starting temps, and such, and I feel remarkably enlightened in my thinking and feelings. You can totally push it with this if you choose to. I look forward to having it as a big quick hit around the house for when the log vape isn't on. Definitely for beside the bed.

Hits are consistently smooth and flavorful. I have some decent stuff I bought in bulk and it is certainly not doing this thing justice to have something so subdued. But man, does it hit. I cough but only because the vapour is hitting me like a bag of hammers. It is not irritating at all. I am quite interested in using it through an Orbiter. I really like that idea.

All in all, I am super happy I have this thing. It is hard to say if it is worth every penny. I think that the fast charger should come with the base unit given the long charging time or a discount should be given for a purchase of the charger when buying the vape initially. At least at this price point. The bundle addresses this but the charge time via USB seems unbearable. This doesn't impact me. I am awesome and won q bundle, but I can see for the Uncle Steves (my analogue for basically impatient dudes) of the world that this would make the base package much harder to say no to.

This is a heavy hitter, perhaps too intense for some. Not in terms of discomfort but just from effectiveness. If my dad's friend came to me for a recommendation, I'd just point them to a Mighty or new gen Arizer if they said they were willing to spend whatever. But for any hardcore stoner this is a really fun unit. I haven't taken it out and about quite yet, but I imagine it will do a good job. Changing crucibles may be a bit of a pain on the go, but Crafty lasts 3 sessions om average. Gotta take my lumps.

Plus the company treats customers very well from my limited experience. Responsive and helpful and engaged. I'm not sure I would have ever bought this without trying it first, which would have been unlikely with my super weak friend group. But yeah, I am a believer.

My daily use generally has me going through on average seven to eight crucibles daily right now. Morning, afternoon, early evening, late night two or three or four. I can make a battery last all day and then usually when I get to one light or blinky light I change out for the new battery. I have noticed in the past that the device does seem to eat battery while in standby mode, Bluetooth being on I think. At any rate, I pop the battery out then back in at the end of the night so the Bluetooth doesn’t vampire my battery. It might be mental though, any others notice a drop at all if left off over night in standby? I’m assuming that unless the battery is popped out then back in after using it, it’s remains in standby mode. The IQ does the same. I run scans all the time and by god man, the gold mv1 one I’ve had in my drawer has shown up for a looooong time, my IQ same deal. Never die while in standby. But definitely a gradual decrease in charge.

Excited to see pics of this stealth as it goes out into the Wild. I’ll pick one up after red dead 2 comes out. That thing’ll bankrupt me in the next few days yo.

Even if there is...I'm honestly finding 2 is plenty with the rapid charger and I'm at 5 to 7 crucibles a day. Of course this will vary by user but right now I have 3 batteries on hand and will see if I like 3.

3 is a good number for sure. What made me super happy about the ghost is the swappable batteries. Mighty and crafty had me tethered to things. Crafty with usb wasn’t so bad because I could carry powerbanks with me. Firefly was cool too but I would destroy my nails clawing at that lid to pop the battery out and replace with a new. No nails, had to use the battery compartment lid, that scratches it.. f’n lame.. also not so stealthy, looks like a bowl. MV1 is just pop out, pop in lock, done. EZ.
I’ve got 6 now that I cycle. I’ve had pretty little vacations over the summer. Made it super convenient to load up, charge up, and then be good for several days. Being able to walk outside right quick for a few pulls in a very short period of time at high levels is awesome. At night I’ll draw out the session by bumping through the levels and stirring and babying that shit but yo, daytime when you need stealth and a pull right quick, there ya go, BOOM! After a year, I still love this vape. I love my other vapes too but this has been a joy over the last year and continues to make me happy :D

detent in cr

detent, that lip? I have them on mine and I’ve had them since they launched.
If I could upload pics I would here but the actual swing arm of the crucible door on the MV1. On my satin it moves back and forth freely. On the stealth it stays in place once you open it past the detent. I'll post pics on Vape Life Forum later.
