I figured out what was causing all the baked on reclaim on the bottom of my vrod. It was the dnail carb cap. :bang::bang: @JCat had pointed out he didn’t like the dnail carb cap as it caused more splatter. Well he is right I switched to the vrod carb cap and no longer have any reclaim on the bottom of the vrod head. I also noticed that I no longer get reclaim built up on the dish nut. I think the angled hole of the dnail cap was pushing the oil up the sides of the dish and I was sucking it down the center hole. All just stoner speculation but with the vrod carb cap no more baked on reclaim! Thanks @JCat for bringing the splatter issue up I’d have never switched to the vrod carb cap if you didn’t bring that up!:clap:

OK... So I packed a fat bowl earlier this week.
I'm still smoking that same bowl. This thing is that efficient.
I haven't even vaped my Cali bud through this yet, that one bowl was large and fat and is taking forever to get through.

Effiency. I was so lit last night I had to give up and go to bed, was 1 am, couldn't finish the bowl.

LOL...

I hope I don't build that tolerance to vaping. Now that I'm in a legal state and don't have to worry about sourcing bud, I can pack whatever I want in a bowl.

Damn that last rip. I never understood why people think a big bong doesn't work with vape. You just lose flavor that's it. But you can rip a larger hit of course and get flavor back that way. It's just trade offs. Better to try it yourself before just assuming. Just milked my 16 inch mobius for awhile, realized I could never have hit the smaller piece that long, then realized I was still milking it, and tried to clear, and then finished on second try. Fun stuff. I've used a whole array of sizes of pieces with my vapes, and styles of pieces from recyclers to big bongs to small bubbles.

They all have different uses, different ways of getting me to enjoy taste or get monster ripped, protect my lungs, or enjoy the flavor, be compact, or exquisite you gotta have a piece for all the occasions

Since this is going to be my first experience with an email, does anyone have tips for keeping cats safe? I'm worried about them jumping up and burning themselves. Obviously I will turn it off when I'm not home, but you know how cats are... maybe I'm overthinking it but I was thinking about getting a tall glass "cake dome" to put over the unit and stand when I'm not in the room.

My cats tend to leave it alone anyway. They might have a sniff, but I think they feel the heat coming from it and just know to stay away.
I don't have it in the middle of the room or anything though, just setup on my desk in front of the window with the power cord running down the back. The cats go past it all the time to get to the windowsill.

Dont send your pussy pics to anyone if you wouldnt want everyone seeing them, that's my advice for keeping your cats safe during your email experience.

On a serious note, that's a tough one. I personally keep mine in my bedroom and just keep the door shut when I'm not in there so my dog doesnt somehow mess with it, but if you dont have that ability I think you are on the right track with a big glass cake dome but idk how big of assholes your cats are, you may be looking at a lot of glass to clean up if they like to knock stuff over

I'd like to think cats are smart enough to avoid getting burnt when walking past and being able to realize it is hot - I'd be worried about it being in an area that they like to jump up to, which could cause them to jump INTO the hot titanium. If you can do as @Pyr0 suggested and push it to the back of a table/desk with no wires for them to yank on/trip over it would probably be alright even without a guard but then a cake dome or even a custom quick built wooden 3 walled guard would work.

Good luck!

I was staying at my girlfriends moms house and house sitting. She has 4 cats in a small apartment and one of them was a kitten. I kept it on the kitchen table on most of the time when I was home. The kitten came by to smell it a couple times but I think he could feel the heat. He steered very clear of jumping over it and stuff. I would just keep it in a space where they can maneuver around it. A small table might be bad cause they jump up and it might be to late.

@digitalninja just me but I would wait to evaluate the need for a solution until you’ve determined that there’s really a problem, before getting something that you don’t need/use. When it arrives, I’d just set it up & observe; they may be curious when it’s cool but when the head is hot, my money is on your cats’ whiskers which give them all kinds of environmental information.

The NV stand is great for peace of mind because the head isn’t going to tip or fall off so there’s no fire hazard there. My guess is once they see it’s nothing for them, they’ll be unimpressed with your new toy and leave it in favour of the boxes and packaging, lol. Good luck and congratulations on a great purchase!

Happy weekend wishes to flowerpotters everywhere!

My cat got a bit too close to a gas stove burner when I wasn't looking once when she was very young.
That sounds scary but, after I made sure that she wasn't hurt, she just singed all her whiskers and eyebrows and freaked the fuck out.

This was what I found, lol:

Needless to say, ever since then...when she gets her knose close enough to anything that's hot, she realizes that it's hot and nopes the hell off in the other direction.

Right so if I've understood your exact meaning here correctly....you are saying that the answer is to whip out the flame thrower? Mmm. Semms konda cruel but I guess if it works right?
(Im glad you're cat was okay though. What a shock I bet.

Ok, I think the topic "cats" is done. What's about "dogs" and the awful little shitters? Or better an own thread about bc it's not only a prob with the FP stuff? :p

@NewVape710 , et al - still using my SH FP and still loving it. Flower only for me.

I have used the glass bowls for a while and liked them, but have returned to the Ti adjust-a-bowl and really do think the thermals of Ti make for better extraction than the glass bowl.

I have been using the 18mm base with my adjust-a-bowl. I do have a 14 mm, but when they shipped out it came with a piece of emery cloth to sand off any burrs from drilling/threading the handle hole. 18mm was fine, 14mm was tighter and seemed to be catching on a burr and....well, I think I got just a bit too excited with the emery cloth.

Its strange though, the 18mm still fits nice and tight, the 14mm is a bit loose. I need to look at it again but tbh, I like using it with a larger rig...and 18mm joint, 65mm stemless can from Custom Creations.

Vaping since 2010
I'm such a cheap bastard, I am torn between effects and getting every possible bit of goodness out of my herbs. I recently purchased a Milaana 2, great vape, but cannot do high temperature hits without burning my throat.. so the ABV is going through the FlowerPot. I got to thinking about it and I do this with just about every vape I own. Most of my ABV is pretty dark by the time I get done FPing it. As a FlowerPot user which is more important to you, getting the last bit of goodness from your herbs, getting those effects in the fewest hist possible or the flavor?

I don't have a process for handling my ABV, perhaps if I did I would feel differently. Right now the ABV feels like a liability, tempted to throw it in the wood stove.

Me put fire on vapcap, get high.
This hurt head. How work?

Seriously, this thing needs a best-of thread or something, I have this urge to buy myself one for christmas but I keep looking at all the different bits on vapefiend and have no bloody idea what to actually buy.
Someone link me a 'flowerpot for dummies' guide please?
