If your new to inserts the slit goes towards the neck (or not if you want less airflow). I didn't realize that and was wondering why the hell those were there. I had a lot of dumb theories until I figured it out.
I did like it, but I'm still figuring them out. I didn't realize how high I was going to have to turn my temp up, I ended up almost 75-100 higher. My first go was kind of meh, I just took out the terp pearls at 525 and dropped in the insert. I kept turning it up to about 575 before it finally finished, took a looong time. The next one I started at 600 and I think I ended at 625. That one was a lot tastier, I'm not sure if it's the temp I want though. So far I like just straight from the banger better, this is only my second time trying an insert though. I'm looking forward to getting and trying some opaque ones, sapphire too if I can get them for a good price.
On an unrelated note I still suck at keeping my banger clean. I q-tip all the time (too much honestly, I use soooo many), I think I just wait too long to soak it. Even after several days soaking in warm iso and about 30 minutes total in the ultrasonic cleaner it still has the black ring in the corners. I'm going to try simple green, baking soda, or the crystal thing I saw people posting about. I don't think it affects flavor much or anything, I can just see it and I don't want to.

@StormyPinkness all I use is simple green in a bowl on a candle warmer with a loose lid to cover it
After 6 hours nothing stays stuck. It all comes right off under hot water and using my finger to rub
After finding this setup I have not had any issues with tough to clean spots and it’s pretty cheap to get the needed bits to run it

How so? I've been happy using my 30MM on a little 5" tall banger hanger, and I love that the large surface area vaporized all my small dabs extremely quickly. The vapor dissapears from the rig before I pull the cap, and I still have room to finish off my inhale with a bit of cool air. It's great! I'm all 30mm from now on.
I disagree. You gave me that advice, and I left my older little banger in a jar of SG on a cup warmer for about 30-hours, swishing the SG in the jar around every hour or so during that time when I was actually home and awake to circulate it, and after that a small amount of it came off, but there was still a lot on there on that that felt as hard as the glass (like sandpaper when I scrubbed at it with a q-tip or toothpick), even after scrubbing with a handful of q-tips for half an hour, all soaked in warm SG.
Anyway, it was my first banger and it was ready to die I guess. I was annoyed and dropped it back in that jar on the cup-warmer from a bit too high, and it broke in half. No worry, as I'd destroyed that one anyway. Before I got my first banger, I'd read in most of the places I'd looked that you were supposed to "season" your quartz nail. In fact, I remember reading in a number of places that the best way to season a nail was to get it red-hot (way to hot for a dab), and drop a gram in it and not inhale, but just let it burn off. That's the kinda shit I was reading back then (I've learned since then that the idea of "seasoning your nail" is an old myth that is a spillover from the days when everyone used a titanium nail), so I left the puddles in the bottom and just let them burn in as I did regular burnoffs on the glass at the end of a session...so, good riddance to that old nail.
All three bangers I own at the moment are from @710Coils , I am careful to clean them with every use, and they are all spotless.
I still have the two parts of the old banger that broke. I should put them back on the warmer with a heavy concentration of PBW for a while and see if that gets any more grime off for future reference. Ya know, for science!

Simple is the way
PBW works great for me, whenever I want to clean my banger I turn it off let it cool for a min or 2 put a small amount of PBW and a tbl spoon of water. All the gunk bubbles right off instantly. I let it cool for a few more mins then take my banger ( with coil ) and rinse under water. Spotless, effortless and ready to go for another round in a few mins. As long as running my warm ( no longer hot ) coil under water is ok ?

I can't remember who or on which thread, but another member posted that using distilled water worked really well for cleaning gunk out of the banger. I tried it and it works!
I put ~2mm of water into the cold banger and turn it on, when it starts bubbling I start swabbing with a q-tip and it helps to loosen/remove the gunk. Rinse and repeat until clean. Mine was about as dirty as @StormyPinkness above and it took 2 times to get squeaky clean. Only takes a minute as the water boils off pretty quickly.
For after dab cleaning I was running through q-tips like crazy because that 30mm is ginormous!
So, I started wadding up about 6 squares of butt wipe and twisting it into the banger to get the majority of the residue out, unwad and repeat, then take a q-tip to finish and really get into the corners. Keeps it relatively clean and only uses 1 q-tip instead of 5 or 6. The wadded up TP works for the inserts too. I pull the insert and set it on a small Oil Slick mat, stick the wadded paper into it and start twisting. The insert sticks to the oil slick mat so only the TP spins.

yeah i would have been more upset but if i didnt have another one or two to use instead. I broke it buzzed while heating it up so it didn't stand a chance lol The neck gets thin when it meets the bucket though i did notice that. Ill get some pics later. Im really clumsy so i dont really buy expensive glass.

I have a 25mm from 710 that is just a thing of beauty. Truly a pleasure to own, and not ‘specially pricey. Blows away everything else I’ve seen near the price points.
About the TP thing, consider using dental sponges, which are 2x2” gauze pads. Just a check in and a shout out. Looking forward to when the colored caps hit, as I really want to try a Quartz Pi. My 30mm axial, 2 8mm bead, Weirdeer cap combo is smashing dabs. AZ is awash in reasonably priced concentrates, so my T break turned into some type of cosmic exploration. This Gear is getting a serious work out.

I have been running my 25mm with a torch a lot recently. Not sure why but I find it more satisfying! Think im going to run my 30mm on a coil all times and have my 25mm for torch dabs! Haven’t gotten much use out of my 30mm as I haven’t had a great carb cap ordered one from Shane should land today and will get testing this weekend and post if I feel differently but have founds I prefer the 25mm but that may change with a better cap. Still loving the setup though Thanks for bringing us this stuff at a great price Shane!
Just curious to those who are not having luck cleaning off the burnt on carbon (black ring) in the bangers using simple green. Are you using full concentrated strength simple green? I dont even use a candle warmer. I deep clean my banger once a week which is after about 40 dabs using room temp full strength simple green AFTER I use ISO to get the reclaim oil cleaned up. Really it comes clean after about a 30 minute soak just scrubbing with a qtip. The qtips wipe off the black carbon bits easier than cleaning a teflon fry pan IME. BTW I am dabbing rosin that's been pressed through a 160u filter, so the cleanliness of my dabs are nothing like the diamonds @StormyPinkness posted.
I also use a torch so there may be something to that, but I'd think even using a coil so long as you get in there and mop up the un-vaporized reclaim quickly (dry swab>wet swab), you shouldn't be having such a time cleaning the banger. Just my

I am back!!!! The wife drug me to La Push Washington. Its in the middle of no where and utterly amazing. Fun fact: The twilight movies were filmed in and around La Push. I’m going to guess that those black bits in the bottom are particulates from pressed rosin.
I say that because I just got done dabbing some pressed rosin, and I found those same little black bits in the bottom of my banger, just as the picture showed. I’m sure they’d ash up if you got the banger hot enough, but I’m still new to this. FTR I have never had anything else in my banger than whole rosin.

@ClearBlueLou you could heat the banger up a bit higher than you normally run and see if that breaks it up. But when I dab rosin I always have to soak my bangers good afterwards to get them back to new.
I also confirmed they sell non concentrated simple green. I have only ever used the concentrated version for my soaking. But you can always do a quick torch of the bottom of the banger when it’s out of the coil to completely clean it up quickly =)
I got full stock of 25mm and 30mm opaque bangers in 10 and 14mm in both 45 and 90 degree flavors. I will post some pics tomorrow of the new bangers compared to the old so you can see what has been improved upon
