Discontinued Healthy Rips FIERCE

Dr. Mindbender

The doctor will see you now...
My Fierce just died...1 week and now it's dead. Won't turn on and the display doesnt light up, just a paperweight. Mine was clicking near the bottom when it was on since I unboxed it, not sure if that had something to do with it. Anybody else have the clicking issue?

Hey @HealthyRips.com ...I sent you a message to get the ball rolling on a replacement.

No clicking, but mine died after a mere three days. Their customer service is great, they got back to me in under two hours with return shipping info. I was very unhappy as I am sure you are as well.

Healthy Rips is claiming a less than 1% failure rate for the Fierce, but I do not know how they can claim this stat before the release.
HR never said that for the Fierce, it was for the Fury 2. I’m sorry for your and a few others’ issues however it is indeed a new product. I think the Fierce will be on par with a very low failure rate. I’m sure they’ll respond quickly & remedy the situation. Peace.

This is a quote from the email Healthy Rips sent me, so you can see they are absolutely claiming a 1% failure rate, "Sorry you are having an issue with your FIERCE. This is highly unusual considering we have a 1% defect rate on all of our vaporizers. "

Oh snap:whip:

For the ones who are enjoying the fierce is there noticable differences in preformance vs. fury? Or just bigger fury with newer bells and whistles

No doubt @HealthyRips.com will take care of those with issues. Customer service number one for sure:tup:

You do understand that "all our vaporizers" means Fury one and two in a case like this where there is no history on this brand new vape, right? They are trying to tell you they have a history of being very reliable, doesn't that 'standard reply' include a pledge to stick by you and "we assure you that everyone who purchases our FIERCE will get a perfect unit whatever it takes" as their post above?

Any brand new product can have problems, if you wish to avoid that risk I suggest you patiently wait while 'early adopters' sort it out and report?

FWIW I'm wondering if some battery pack/contact issue is going on. What happens if you try charging it?

Please see my two rather long posts on just that topic on the prior page. Hopefully you'll find some useful answers there.

Regards to all.

We have had thousands of our FURY and FURY 2 units out in our client's hands for 18 months plus, and have had less than a 1% defect rate.
- this is from HR itself. Their email to you inferred this I believe. Hopefully you’ll have a properly working unit soon...

Hi All! Here is the situation with our FIERCE:
We have sold and shipped hundreds of FIERCE units. We sold out of our 'first run' production units shortly after we filled all of our preorders. We have now had seven identical failures in about a week. We are not happy about this - but we will find and correct this issue that has affected these units. We do not know what is causing these failures yet because we have just started receiving the defective units back from our clients today. Our engineers will have several units to test and examine throughout this week and we will have an answer very soon as to what is causing this power failure.

We do not have any more 'first run' FIERCE units for sale on our website or anywhere else. We currently have several thousand units in the middle of our second production run - but we have stopped production until we have pinpointed this issue and have it completely resolved. If any FIERCE owner has their device fail - please have no worries! We will replace it with a new FIERCE from our second production run. In the event that you do have an issue, please contact us immediately: healthyrips@gmail.com. We will only be asking for the body of the defective unit to be returned. For your trouble and inconvenience - we are allowing our clients to keep all of the parts and accessories including the tool kit, USB-C cord, accessories attachment, glass mouthpiece, standard mouthpiece, battery, battery door screw, and battery door. Your replacement will be a completely new and fully boxed bundle - therefore, you will have two full sets of parts and accessories for your new FIERCE.

We did not mean to mislead anyone by claiming that we have had a 1% defect rate on all of our vaporizers - this is true for all of our current models - FORCE, FURY and FURY 2. Our FIERCE is a brand new release and unfortunately this issue was not present (or discovered) in our test units. We have amazing engineers and we are extremely confident that we will have this figured out in no time - and we will get the defect rate on our FIERCE down to 1% or less as well. We give you our word that we will not produce or sell another single FIERCE until we have this issue completely resolved.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding in this matter and we sincerely apologize to those who have a FIERCE power outage. We see this as an opportunity to prove ourselves, as a company, to you all.

UPDATE: We already ruled out the battery pack. No problem there.

The very best to everyone!

Oh poo . I was counting down the days for my international bundle order to be shipped . However I'll be happy to wait to receive a vape as you intend it to be. Nice feedback healthyrips
Yes - fortunately we were waiting to ship most of the FIERCE international orders due to some of the accessories being on backorder. Now we will obviously wait until we have our current production run completed with the power outage issue, that has affected a few units, corrected.

All the Best!

I just got my notification email from HR that they got my unit and it will be approx. 2 weeks before they will ship my new one. Very pleased with their customer service, very sad about waiting for my new Fierce.

You are right I should have followed my SOP and not become an early adopter. I am not graced with a stable of great vapes that allow me to wait for the Fierce to come back to me.

As for the battery, nothing at all happens when you plug the unit in. But HR is reporting that it is not the battery, which was my first guess.

Bummer. IMO a guy should have a backup vape (or any other 'mission critical' gear), just to cover such emergencies. Reverting to blazing is not a good idea. I suggest something different that's fun to use on it's own. It can be low cost (say half what FIERCE is?). Perhaps a Vapor Genie (the coil is cheap and powerful) or a Vapman (a personal favorite in its own right).

Good luck with it.

A backup vape if one has only one or one working one is a good idea in general. I learned my lesson on this recently and now have a steady daily unit that replaced my initial and primary vape that went in for repair.

AND from everything I’ve read herein about HR, written by HR and personally communicated with HR, they are fantastic, transparent and quality driven. Kudos!! While I don’t own a Fierce yet it’s on my very short list, perhaps soon...

Hi! Please contact us: healthyrips@gmail.com. We would like to discuss whether or not you have a defective unit. We are on high alert regarding our FIERCE as it is a new release. No worries - we assure you that everyone who purchases our FIERCE will get a perfect unit whatever it takes. Please keep in mind that our FIERCE has been designed for more convection heating and will require a longer draw (10-15 seconds) to get the hot air (convection) to move throughout your material, especially on your first draw. Our FIERCE will give you equal or better vapor production than our FURY 2 once the convection heating 'kicks in'. Our FIERCE is designed to be more of a session vaporizer with the power to replace a plug-in unit or for sharing with multiple people in a group setting. However, with its high convection properties - when you turn the FIERCE off, the chamber cools rapidly preserving your material and allowing you to get multiple sessions from a single load.

Have a great day!

From what you've said, it's possible I just need to play around with my draw technique a bit. I'll do some more testing at home when I get the chance and follow up if I still feel something is wrong.

As always, thanks for the great service!

Also check the o-ring/screen and that it’s flush if using the standard MP. I don’t recall if you or someone else had draw issues but this came to mind. Hope this helps.

Agree about "backup"/alt vapes. Love my Vapman, Lotus, got dynavap with a woodscents recently- also have the Sticky brick- All are solid!
Others keep around their MF Launch box, or Vapor Genie Voltas (a battery option in the VG collection)- I've learned also, keeping a few different vapes around helps keep tolerance lower-

Thanks to all of you trudging through this first run-I'm looking forward to the first HR model that meets enough of my needs to pounce on! ( IE: The Fierce!) I have heard so much good about the company and Fury.

Is there a common denominator for the defective units?

Are they all being charged through the Fierce or the external charger?

If those with faulty units could give as much info on their Fierce such as usage, charging, and how long it took before it died it would probably help @HealthyRips.com a bunch, as well is inquiring minds such as myself.

I have had no issues so far with my Fierce. It has been a stellar performer.

I did have that "new car" smell to mine, but not "robot fart" taste when using it.

I set my fierce next to a lava rock bag (got it at bed bath and beyond) in a shoe box over night and it pretty much took the "new car" smell away which I do believe is from the foam packing.
I'm sure it would have dissipated in a few days I just sped up the process.
@HealthyRips.com you should look into different packing material to eliminate this issue.

The Fierce itself did not smell or taste bad, it was simply the housing that smelled FWIW to anyone.

I have been using the glass MP and a dome screen as @OF suggested and have been getting great results starting at 350F.

Still more testing to be done.

Also @The Chronic of Narnia when yours died at that point in time the failure rate very well could have been 1%.

Glad you're enjoying yours, I agree the most objectionable smell was on the outside. I threw out the packaging and 'aired' the unit out when not in use and all is jake now. I wonder if a ISO wipe down might hasten that?

Thanks for the confirmation, I think the screens are a useful plus in performance, and plenty cheap and easy to try.

Your willingness to sacrifice, session after session after session, for our benefit is truly inspirational. Bully..

@OF I found that HipVap herb pods work well in the fierce also.

You can pack a pod and drop it in the chamber, or put a little herb in the chamber and put the pod screen down for a smaller solo session if needed.

This is definitely a session vape the chamber is HUGE when using the stock MP!

All in the name of science @OF!
