Thinking I was having a problem with my Walnut Enano. It had turned off. I checked another outlet and still it wasn’t working. I got out my other cord out and guess what? It’s not the Enano it was the cord. Having an extra cord is a good thing to have. I would have packed the Enano for shipping back to Epic for nothing.

I have some GrapeApe in my Walnut nano right now. Celebrating my relief.

A backup cord really is a great thing. We'll have them back up on the website by tomorrow.
Every cord has a 1 year warranty for our US and Canadian customers.

I should probably get one of these cords,

From limited experience, are the cords to the Nano a concern for long time owners? do they regularly crap out? My only issue with them are one, the dial, make the numbers bigger or glow in da dark easier to read at night or with dim lighting, two, seemingly past the dial the cord is shorter, why? extend it. Perhaps someday a wireless E-nano that sucks up juice from the ether making wired tech a thing of the past. Cruising altitude at an 8 right now.

@Helios most cords fail immediately if they fail at all. There is a chance for issues when paired with sub-par or faulty step-down transformers. This is rare but I have seen it happen. But as @pxl_jockey stated (in lower post) E-Nano cords can wear out and just like any other electronic depending on care, use or random happenstance. I've had the same one for years but have been known to use a printer cable in a pinch of I travel and forget mine, it just goes straight to 10 and will combust if not careful.

I long for a chargeable E-Nano and one day maybe it will happen. In the meantime I'd love to explore some dial options. The cords themselves are made to be as light as possible to reduce the strain on paired glass accessories and to keep them from straight up falling off a table. The dials actually pop right off and can be replaced in the event of a misaligned dial.

What suggestions, wants or needs do you all think would improve our E-Nano cord dial?

@nadia_epic still showing “out of stock”? Why, oh why do you tease me so? I’m like the trusting child and now I am disillusioned and jaded with everything in the world. Well done, ma’am!

Nope, my cord was old and had multiple owners so I can’t be sure what it’s been through. It’s like any cable though, it can die. There’s no history of nano cords regularly failing, but they’re a wearable item.

@Stu or @pakalolo I messed up, sorry! Please merge my transgression!

A better paint job on the dial numbers or perhaps just a replacement knob.

@nadia_epic - So, these are my suggestions for future improvement...they have all been mentioned before.

1. A more supple cord. As it is, the stiffness of the cord combined with the relatively light weight of the unit itself and the weight of the rheostat results in the cord moving the unit around pretty good if not secured in the base stand (or whatever you call the stand...or base....LOL).

2. Better rheostat with more resistance to movement. After I got my Enano, I was on a search for wide, stiff band or some sort with which to hold the dial in place. The dial moves with the wind, almost.

3. A cable weight or a heavier rheostat unit. As it is now, the power cord and rheostat weigh enough to pull o the unit and move the unit around pretty good.

These are the mods I had to make so in order to love my Enano (and not want to throw it against a wall as the cord pulled it off the table again...haha). This shows there is a bit of room for improvement and customers should not have to make these mods to eliminate these simple mechanical issues, IMO.

I’m so excited because Nadia just helped me confirm it was indeed my power cord that died and not my Enano! So power cord ordered and I can put off replacement of my old friend for now. I still need to replace or rewire the led, I believe the led is fine but one of the two little wires has fallen off. Once I’ve sorted that, it will be good as new or at least close enough! Apparently these Nanos just don’t die! I’m much happier to replace a cord then having to get a new Nano, it’s not about the money, I’m just sentimental that way.

TL;DR Nadia is a superhero who deserves a massive pay raise.

EDIT: @arb hell yeah, you sorted that problem out! Nothings going nowhere on you, lol! Love your custom stand on the stone tabletop. I’ve noticed from assorted pics that you’ve got a cozy home with lots of cool features and beautiful art. I’m dropping by if I’m ever in the neighbourhood! Of course, it is America so I’d appreciate you not shooting me on sight. Thanks man!

@Helios I’ve had my cords for three years. I have three this is the first time that I’ve had any trouble with any of my cords. I leave my Enano on 24/7. I’ve been using the same cord most of the time for the last couple years.

If you only have one cord it’s handy to have an extra one.

Edit
I like having a long cord.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I'd prefer if the rheostat was closer to the unit. For my home setup, it seems it would make the unit feel more stable and a bit more convenient to access temp stepping. Love my Nano though! I don't think I could ever part ways with it.

I'm new to the E-Nano but this is what I did. I Velcroed the controller to the table, where it mostly stays. It's easy to remove, if I want. And I wasn't crazy about the cord twisting, so I installed a piece of flexible, split braided cable sheath over the cord going to the nano - it should also extend the cords life. This is working out great for my needs!

The temp wheel is tight enough on mine, it stays where I set it, but the numbers are a bit hard to read for these old eyes.

We think alike;) i did the same thing, I do this Velcro technique with my Television remotes as well, keeps things from getting lost. agreed on the tricky dial reading, I always keep a small flashlight handy nearby to see what my temp settings are since I typically only use the Nano at night in dim lighting.

I wanted to leave a great review on the epicvape.com site, but when I login and click on "Add one now" under "Reviews", then the site takes me to the start page again and nothing happens. A mistake on my side or a bug on the website?

Going back through posts to make sure I didn't miss any, which clearly I have. The site has some bugs and the review functions tend to have issues when we update the site. We'll be doing a few more updates this week and I will make sure we test out the review functionality. There is a lot of spam that comes through so you will need to be logged in to review.

Sorry for the delay on responding!
