Good enail "hotbox"

Hey guys! So i recently got a vapecode enail on amazon, $128 total. Has 4 1/2 stars on there, and honestly was working great for me for 2 days and i was pretty damn careful, and bam suddenly the temp starts scrolling up and down nonstop, so i cant really use it. I tried taking it apart and putting the cord back in, even unplugging the power and everything, but it only stops for like 60 seconds and then back to scrolling. So im trying to contact the seller on amazon, but i would like to know a good alternative to this product, a good enail. Not like a Yocan Torch, i have that already, i really like the hotbox style.

Heres one that looks cool, in case anyone here has experience with this model or anything like it, or can offer any advice?

http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=484

Im hoping to get a working vapecode model but im def not gonna buy another if they just take my money. However, while it worked, no complaints. Could have used an auto-off function. Thats all.

Vape Code is the manufacturer of my controller and coil too and it’s been working fine turned on more than off for almost a year now. I don’t know about their customer service, if they’re even the direct seller, but if you can get a working unit it should do fine. :)

I’ve also heard a lot of praise for Auber controllers, so if you end up having to buy a new one they seem to be a good choice too.

The main benefits I’ve heard people mention were a dial to set the temp instead of the up and down buttons, which only matters if you like to change the temp often, and a timer on some models to turn them off automatically. There may be other features on models I haven’t seen (I’m referring to the 200s and 300s), otherwise temp controls, timers and looks are probably the main differences you’ll find.

They said theyd fix it right away, thankfully. Good thing it was on amazon. But i mean, the scrolling thing seems kinda dangerous and it might not be the most stable unit, i was looking at the one above and others, they seem to be built better, but im gonna get this fixed first and foremost. I just dont want it breaking down again, pretty sure its made in china and all that. But the one above looks pretty cool. Theres also shit like the Dab Ninja, similar but looks more sturdy

Also, the dial would be good so the temp doesnt start changing by itself.

That said, i really enjoyed dabbing from it while it was working for 2 days. I used very little material, and not even my best material, and got very high

That model is highly reliable and a lot of folks on this board have them.

Are you sure its the same model? I know there are several. Mine is Db01m

Anyway i dont doubt that a few like what i got could be defective. Thats what they basically said when i described the problem

I've only ever tried a vapecode unit and the Auber 300.
To me the Auber seems more stable in temperatures, is easier to read and adjust and coils are easy to find.
I'm thinking about picking up a second one when they have another sale

That’s slightly different from mine, but I think the important parts are mostly the same. Most FlowerPot users and many others are using these without problems and I’ve only seen a few reports of failures, defects or questionable behavior (like 3-4 including yours) so unless you get another bad unit I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine.

If you do get another bad one...I’d start to question that exact model and/or the people you bought it from because most of these things seem to be pretty solid.

Theyre saying theyll fix it (Vapecode) but i kinda really like the Auber. I dont mind slight temp fluctuations at all, even the Mighty does that, but when the box starts scrolling through temp at hyperspeed back and forth by itself like its haunted, made me feel like Vapecode might not be all that stable at all. I mean, thats after 2 days of working perfectly. But when it did work it was awesome. Its just that the damn thing was pver $100 and the Auber will be even more total. So i dont wanna prematurely spend all that cash. I would like for the Vapecode to work reliably. Still, the Auber has some cool features that the Vapecode doesnt

For the record, the rating on amazon is very high too. 4.5/5

The Auber uses different voltages, theres 110v and 220. Im guessing this is just for quicker heat up? Also different sized coils and nails. I know the Vapecode is a 20mm coil and similar sized universal nail. If i do get the auber, not sure if i should get that same size (would fit the nail i already have) or the 15mm. Apparently the 20mm can also fit on a quartz banger and such

The 220/110v voltages are referring to the differing supply voltages around the world. You guys have 110v 60Hz, while here in the UK for eg, we have 220v/50Hz.
Just be aware that the coils for the Vapecode will not work on the Auber controller (and vice-versa) without being rewired

Yeah i figured, however, wouldnt a 20mm cable coil wrap around most quartz bangers? Im thinking of which is better IF i have to buy this new one, the 15.8mm coil with this kind of universal female which i actually used to have, and used with a torch. Never with a box. But def waiting to see what happens with the new vapecode first. It shouldnt fuck up again. I was really trying to be careful with the rod and all that stuff. It started running the temp up and down as i was waiting for it to cool to under 100 degrees.

Heres the 15.8mm
E-nail_top.jpg

It is domeless with good airflow, not a flat heating element VS

Flat%20Coil%20with%20Universal%20Nail_w.jpg

This is the 20mm and its just like the Vapecode nail, more of a titanium dish. def needs the carb cap which i have but consider a bit cumbersome to use (no biggie though, but it gets hot). But when you throw in crystallized pieces of shatter they dab for a while and without a carb alot gets lost. Not sure if the "domeless" would result in more loss from when im not hitting it. I guess if anything i can put the carb cap on either one. either one id also get the accompanying nail, and no matter what gonna wait on the Vapecode fix first. I really do like that machine, this just seems to improve on it. Btw sellers seem legit, very quickly responded and said to send the thing back to get fixed, sorry for inconvenience, they believed it was broken right away (which is good, it is). Pretty sure theyre all legit Vapecode models being sold on amazon by this one seller, gets very good reviews generally. I figure also the 15.8mm would fit 14mm nails

Until i get the new Vapecode hopefully in a few days, gonna be using my Yocan Torch and Firefly2 (latter for herb) primarily. Been just using bho, kinda neglecting good weed a bit anyway. I kinda miss the other 112 cannabinoids, but i love enail dabbing. I have a yocan torch which i actually really like too, its pretty crafty and small, but works pretty damn well, uses like nothing

PS decided to just pull the trigger on the Auber and universal domeless nail (15.8mm coil). I think after repairing the Vapecode, ill just sell it on ebay. Unless someone here wants it. My total was 128. Im good with like 120 for the full package, but i need to repair first.

Before you spend too much on anything, as far as nails go, check out the 710coils thread (if you haven't already). I and many others are basking in great gear and top level service thanks to another humble member of FC. He has caps, bangers, silicone hooks to hang any banger and coil setup, stickers, sharp sticks, etc..... His coils work with the Auber/XLR wired setup, and are very fine in construction. I never see temp fluctuation beyond 5 degrees, even when taking a dab.

I will have to check that out, thanks. Though i did get the Auber default, but maybe will want a quartz or something

FractaLSD,
Sorry, I meant the Auber is a great unit earlier, not the Vapecode. I haven’t got any experience with the Vapecode.

That said, I’d echo the advice to check the @710Coils thread - I would not even dab off that ti nail, personally. Won’t be a great experience.

If you can afford a 25mm opaque banger, a 25mm axial coil, one Quartz Pi bubble cap and some clips ($135?) from @710Coils you will be set. I bet he will even throw in some terp pearls which will really blow your mind.

I’m confident that if your dabbing has only been on that nail....you will not be disappointed.

I used basically the same nail before with a torch, i really did like it for just the bong. Maybe not as yummy as quartz but it worked real nice. I liked it more than the dish style. I'll upgrade the nail, thats no issue, just need a box that works well. So hopefully the Auber will be good. The TI does the job well IMO. Its just a standard universal nail.

But yes quartz bangers are def better and i was checking out 710coils, will get something else once i get the box and im sure of the dimensions, limitations and such. I really didnt mind the Vapecode nail, this domeless one seems better

I kinda like dabbing off titanium. My smaller erig is also titanium grade 2 (the bucket style) and ive never had an issue. My nectar collector i use almost all quartz, i def like it more when torching, just a lot of cleaning involved

But thanks for clearing up that its the Auber that many people here use, because basically all the vape advice ive ever gotten from FC even my first SSV like 7-8 years ago, has all been great advice. So yeah. Just gonna try and sell the fixed Vapecode now that i actually ordered the Auber

I just ran through over $300 with these two boxes. So, once i know the Auber works well, i will upgrade the nail. Though im sure itll still dab nice. I have a carb cap if i need it in between hits

@FractaLSD When you are ready fore a quartz banger and coil, hit me up and I will make sure you are happy with your purchase =)

Several have walked the path you are on and the end goal was the quartz banger and coil. It gives you amazing hits at a very low temp and is really easy to clean up and use.

I personally love the 30mm opaque. Its just savage on how well it vaporizes dabs =)

Hope you are all having a great start to the week

For sure man. I like quartz, ive used my friend's recycler and he has a nice enail and also a quartz banger, it def seemed nice, though he kept having to pour alcohol into after every use, i guess you need to keep it clean.

I'll hit you up for glass/coils :)

Mostly for now, i want a working auber. That unit looks nice. Its on the way! :)

You don’t have to use iso every time - I swab with 2 qtips and OCCASSIONALLY use an iso qtip at a lower temp if I take a big, messy dab.

So heres an update:

I LOVE the Auber. Way, more accurate than the the Vapecode. When i set it to say 570, its at 569-570, and when i hit it, it notices and drops a few degrees. So its like storz and bickel accurate. The dabs have been super nice. The nail could be better, i like the Vapecode one more actually, but dont mind the titanium, its just a bit simple for like an extra 70 but it DOES the trick real nice. But its not designed to fit in the bong as well as the Vapecode typical universal nail, and i have a downstem so its already tilted. With a carb cap, regardless, the dabs are spectacular. The build quality vs Vapecode is so much higher. Though for the record i did send it the VC in for repair (why not, i spent $130 on it and its nice to have a backup enail)

But its time to go @710Coils shopping :D
For both a coil (that one is very specific to the default nail) and a good accompanying nail.
Also i noticed the pin connector for both VC and Auber is about the same, just sliggghtly diff size. I wanted to try to plug the VC nail in but decided not to fuck with the Auber

Hey, since its your shop, apparently, maybe you can point me in the right direction. Im trying not to spend a fortune cause i already used up so much cash for this.

If i get a perfect working VC device back and someone wants an enail on here maybe i can hook em up for like 75 out of the 130 i spent, as well. ONLY if its working perfectly, and it def should be when they send the second model

@FractaLSD I can get you setup with a banger and coil and still keep it economical =)

Shoot me a message and I will see what I can do.

Also you shouldn't have to pour ISO into your banger to clean it. You can get away with some distilled water and about 250 degrees of heat. So you would just set your auber to 250 and pour the distilled water in. It will do its thing and you can then Qtip it clean. The clear bangers stay cleaner than the opaque, but the opaque bring out the flavor more.

And if your coil looks like it will connect to the auber and the pin layout is the same. I dont see any harm in plugging it in to your unit.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the day =)
