Now we are talking just tried it with a plastic bottle, works, but the bowl gets too hot. Glass bottle I prefer waterfall style to gravity style, even with a vase. So I get one of them, drill a lil hole and we are good to go. This will be FUN haha. Loving this thing

Pics or it didn t happen :brow::rofl:

Have fun in the Vape-Lab!

First of all, I believe you are mis-interpreting his words here. By "negatives" he is likely referring in general to negative shit that happens to all of us and is only cheering him on to keep his chin up. That's how I read it anyway.

Stu, this is exactly what I meant. When you go into business you have enough problems to worry about and then some assholes come along and pull the shit Edwyn just ran into with someone essentially stealing his product. I am hoping all the other aspects of his business that are positive collectively outweigh the negatives and he keeps doing what he is doing. A guy with this drive and talent could easily shutter the NewVape business and just focus on machining titanium. Respect! -YaMon

Yeah, I never would’ve imagined that people would do this. Like @YaMon said, I’m sure there’s a million considerations & potential problems without thieves scamming like this. Small businesses have to juggle enough without worrying with digital theft. I guess because our minds don’t think and operate this way, it’s all the more shocking when @NewVape710 shares his reality. I’d be furious too because this type of theft harms his business on several levels. It’s worse than someone breaking in your house, sorry Edwyn.

The small shops and craftsmen in our industry are the best because they’re part of the community.
And then the worst of our community do this shit to them.

I didn't mean to start any problems with yesterday's post. I only wanted to share some of the other challenges of running a vape company. I do appreciate all the advice. We are going to hire an attorney and sue the customers credit card companies that refunded the customer's money and allowed the customers to retain their products. Apparently these cases are easy to win with the proper documentation.

lol!

*hushed David Attenborough voice* We now witness @Tommy10 in a daring attempt to further maximise the effects of his Vrod, fall victim to Darwin’s Principle of Natural Selection. Let’s watch as his skin turns magnificent shades of green.

Science laboratory supplies - drechsel bottle, whatever joint you want, cut off the bottom. Get a flower vase just slightly bigger. TAG & grav lab also make something professional IIRC but mine is ~$20, theirs isn’t.

Simple is the way
@NewVape710 would having signature required on all orders placed via CC solve this. If you could provide proof of signature for the delivery to the CC company.?

I ran a small drop shipping company for about a year and this was a constant problem for us. 15% of orders would comeback with customers claiming they never received the item even though I could see delivery confirmation on my end.

Its not for lack of ideas or initiative...This is an old prototype. Lots of engineering still pending on iit. This thing would be killer at a party!

Funny for sure, but what about making a joint that would allow for a siphon to be attached? One more toy to add to the FlowerPot experience.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a long time and am finally getting ready to purchase a vrod.

I'm a complete enail noob. I'm thinking about buying an Auber RDK-300 because I like the dial better than buttons. Does the flowerpot require special coils, or can I order the same coils from Auber? Also are the coils from NewVape any easier to set up or am I overthinking this?

I already have a glass piece but I'll be purchasing everything else. I'm really excited, I started off with a Pax, then a Solo 1 and 2, and then I got a StickyBrick Jr and was blown away by the clouds, and that led me to the Flowerpot. It looks like the ultimate vape for me, and this is a really great community. Thanks in advance for advice.

Hi!
Welcome to the fun :).

The Auber is a great choice. I purchased the same recently on advice from the forum and yes, it is a great device.

The NV coils have a different pinout if I'm not mistaken, so you'll have to get them from Auber and make sure you're ordering a reverse coil Vrod.
https://www.newvape.com/vrod-flowerpot-head-reverse
710 Coils also has them:
https://710coils.com/collections/everything-1/products/20mm-barrel

Or go the full NV way with their controller and pinout. You'll need the normal VROD then.

Its a little complicated but I think I got it right!
I do not own a VROD yet but that's what I was planning on getting anyway...:uhoh:

Is there a particular reason why the spinning balls need to be rubies as opposed to something less expensive like quartz or ceramic?
I think quartz is cool, ceramic I wouldn’t be thrilled about as it’s almost all porous and will suck up reclaim and taste bad quickly.

I base that on my experience trying to use ceramic cups in atomizers (eg Source Orb)

Because rubies! I mean, isn't that enough reason?

They're supposedly more durable than quartz, and certainly more so than ceramics. Since they're going to be hot and spinning fast, it could matter? Okay, this paragraph is guesswork, but educated guesswork.

I'm dying to get my paws on one of those clear caps!

Thank you @Baron23 would you know if there's a flavor difference between quartz vers ruby?

@digitalninja I just purchased an auber pid RDK-200 and their 20mm coil so we can determine exactly what fits what and how well it works with the Flowerpot. It should arrive next week. Unfortunately I will be traveling next week and won't be able to comment until the following week.

here's the progress on the new "baller carbcap" 1-4 holes with optional plugs to personalize flow.

I would be cautious of doing more than 2 holes, CCA tried to do an adjustable cap with their Liger and everybody hated it.

It looks like one angled hole works great, would have to do a vapor test to really tell but I wonder if two would cause more dilution.

Most of the comparison reports I've seen are anecdotal and not terribly scientific... But rubies and sapphires are the second hardest mineral type after diamonds. So, it's safe to assume they're less porous than alternatives like quartz as well. Sapphires are also bio-compatible and completely inert with human bodies. Of course, I don't know how that applies when being heated.

Hi!
Welcome to the fun :).

710 Coils also has them:
https://710coils.com/collections/everything-1/products/20mm-barrel

Its a little complicated but I think I got it right!

Sorry @Mr. Whitewall but I’m not sure this 710coil is right, even for the Reverse Vrod. I know the Auber coil will NOT work for the Reverse Vrod either, because both Vrods are designed for 20mm coils that are 17mm in width. The Auber 20mm is only 12.7mm in width and so wouldn’t work.

@digitalninja Welcome! Great choice on the VRod and the Auber controller, I’m doing the same. But you do need to get the right parts because the VRod gets its magic from its very specific tolerances. Not only does the coil have to wrap the correct way for the VRod but it also needs to be of a specific width to fit the head properly. The Showerhead uses any 20mm coil I believe. The VRod and Showerhead are both part of the Flowerpot family. Whew, that’s a lot of information but it’s important to understand before pulling the trigger.

Fortunately, @710Coils offers a special Vrod compatible coil that fits the regular VRod and has the correct Dnail pin-out for the Auber controllers. He also carries it in 110v & 220v so get the right one for the Auber you picked. Unfortunately, he’s selling them like mad so they’re out of stock atm but more are due in the next week I think. Shane, aka @710Coils will make sure that you get what you need.

So, you’ll order the Auber RDK-300, the VRod Coil from 710coils, and the regular VRod & other bits from New Vape. It’s more hassle than just ordering it all from NV but you’ll get exactly what you want!

@NewVape710 I would want a one-hole version that doesn’t require any plugs, maybe two holes but I’d be more concerned with dilution unless the holes are smaller in diameter. But honestly, one angled hole should be enough for spinning and I’m not sure what more holes does better?

Edwyn - to me they are both inert neutral materials.

But I never jumped on sapphire and the other high priced insert materials. I just don’t see it, myself.

Sorry but I'm even more confused now... :hmm:

I’m not sure this 710coil is right, even for the Reverse Vrod

So you tell me 710s coils won't fit because they're too long? Ok, but then you recommend them further down?
I mean, from what the pics tell on the site, both coils either reverse or not have 4 turns, hence my confusion, but if you care to illuminate me on the subject I'd be more than grateful.

@710Coils offers a special Vrod compatible coil that fits the regular VRod and has the correct Dnail pin-out for the Auber controllers

Uh, well...:p That is exactly what I was trying to explain you see... So, could you please me point me in the direction of the coil with the right length then? I can't see it on Shane's website, just the two options...

...Yes I did, hear about coil length being an issue at some point, but thought that was the whole point of Shane getting these coils for us right? :p
I didn't go for an Auber one, but assumed it was a standard, good call there. Although you can clearly see on their pics that they are indeed too short, my bad.

EDIT: the regular I assumed was the original version, with coil turning clockwise? Isn't that correct?
I then assume the reverse version was made to fit counter-clockwise, more easily available coils if you will (without trying to get into this "industry standard" discussion).

So, to sum things up, this:
https://710coils.com/collections/everything-1/products/20mm-barrel
with this is not ok?

@Mr. Whitewall I sell a 20mm coil and also the 20mm Vrod coils. The Vrod coils are out os stock, but are due in 10 days and I will have both the regular and reverse versions.

@abcd5432 The terp pearls are to help vaporize your dabs more as they will get saturated with heat and help vaporize your dabs further. You can typically lower your temps when using the terp pearls as they can feel hot when used at your normal temps

Hope everyone has a great weekend

Sorry to bring this up again so soon but....there's always the vapecode amazon listing @Mr. Whitewall if you don't want to wait. Supposedly New Vapes coil supplier. Should work with the regular VROD. I have 4 that are all right at ~16mm barrel height with a clockwise wrap.

Ordered oct 10th super early in the morning recieved from VA today.

Yes, they are the supplier; it’s been talked about here a number of times. NewVape even sent people in Europe to them for coils and controllers before starting to stock the right ones for use with European power outlets themselves.
