Watercure - A journey from schwag to 'not bad'?

Usually I would imagine people WC their (good) bud when it comes to harvest time and they dont want to wait the specified 'X' amount of days/weeks it takes to properly cure. Watercured bud can be done and ready in 7 days, and you can use fresh or poorly cured/moldy buds like I did for this experiment.

Some people like to pump nutes into their grows up until the day of harvest as all of these chems will come out in the wash.

Watercuring would remove all of the other solubles that may be left in the plant that werent destroyed or degraded by vaping. (i.e. chlorophyll, salts etc) the same things you would watercure regular bud for. I believe someone was going to attempt this for a cooking experiment. Personally, Ive never really had a problem with my ABV in my edibles, but this may help some.

Okay, so apparently the weight difference was not measured - will we see this repeated with that bit included next time?

AG this has me interested enough to try it out. I have almost a 1/2oz of Friesland Indica that is good mids or even considered a high grade in some parts. I am going to split it up 1/4oz grind up as usual and vape in my LB and then watercure the other 1/4oz and have a side by side vape off.

What interests me the most besides the increased potency is the fact that most of the smell is gone so that my LB will be even more stealthier than it already is.

MauiSon, I can weigh it before and after the watercure if you want, be interesting to see how much mass is lost.

Another thing that really got me with the WC was the smoothness of it. You got much less (of what they call in the e-cig world) 'throat hit'. It was an interesting experiment that I am sure I will try again when I stumble across some buds that are (dare I say it) not even worth vaping.

I'm really interested in hearing about the results. I was hoping someone would do a side by side. Cool.

I tried water curing a couple of times. I did it on smoke that I knew was a little harsh. It fixed that problem, it was no longer harsh. In fact, no flavor at all. It was like smoking air.

Water curing is a 'curing' method. The op appeared to be using this method on already cured flowers. Just because it was a crap cure doesn't make it uncured. When I tried it, I was soaking green/wet flowers - not dry old stuff.

Nowadays, a lot of the mj grown south of the border is good stuff, many times seed bank quality. Then they destroy it in their 'curing' process. Typical to throw a big pile out in the sun and turn now and again. This is not really curing, it is composting.
