Yes, the Mirage takes a single battery but it can take the more powerful 21700 which is what I would do.
Oh yes I forgot about the 21700.
So.. I hate to post this but Im super disappointed in my unit.

Ive gotten zero vapor out of it trying both wattage and TC mode and multiple coils.

Before I want to blame the unit, can someone tell me what modbox they are using that is actually working? Im going to buy a new modbox before I give up on this thing.

Thanks

Ordered one of these.

This is the most frustrating vape Ive ever owned. Ive yet to see a single wisp of vapor from it.
Have you provided the manufacturer the courtesy of reaching out to him for help before putting out this negativly slanted account? @supershredderdan is pretty active and willing to help. 99% of the time issues with vaporizer usage falls on the user. This vape isn't perfect for me but it does work and there are plenty of accounts of great success here.

Indeed I have and Ive tried what he asked me to do. Ive also bought more coils from him and I can see from the influx of PMs that Ive received after making that post that Im not the only one who feels this way.

And I never said the unit was junk.. I want to try another modbox before I give up. Im not sure what I have it on now has enough juice to make it work completely so I ordered a new modbox to give it another go.

@jardri, read my thread about the new EU regulations

Sorry, my friend, in Spain you are pretty fucked up regarding importing of vape stuff.
Man these are bad news. Hope I can get mine but it will be a ton of money and papers. USA makes the best vaporizers and the worst trade wars and here in Spain all I see are thieves and opacity. I want to combust for the first time in years. I want to combust institutional corruption and turn it into ashes.

Sorry to hear your having issue what mod you currently using?
The clapton coil tend use more wattage and mod setting really make a huge difference with this device.

Hopefully its just the current mod or the setting that needs adjustment. Seems on this thread most folk are enjoying the device once they get it working. Hoping you do too, once it's working right this one is a lot of fun. With the changeable coils and adjustable air flow offers something not found in other 510 devices.

It has nothing to do with trade wars nor corruption. Here in the US, the gov't. wants to bury the e-cig industry under tons of regulation. Sadly, they would obliterate the industry if they could.
Thanks i understand better now. Sadly here in Spain everything is corruption. I jusy want to try the Stempod and geek with it

Right now I have it on the Evic Dual but I cant seem to get it to work with both batteries. I think the connection between the two battery adapter may be bad but with one fully charged battery using the original coils and the Clapton coils, I dont even get a wisp in straight up wattage mode going all the way to 45W.

Hopefully the new mod will give me more joy. I got plenty of stuff that fits on 510 threads so it will get used either way. I have a bunch of the Source XLs, some Divine Tribe stuff, a Sai and a Source Enail.. Id just really like to get this thing working.

My dear, have you seen my other thread about the new vape regulations in the US?

There perhaps is a much bigger danger for US vape manufacturers coming up.

I'm not up to date anymore but SFAIK it isn't clear up to now whether Vapes are standing under that law or not. Just the deadlines were proponed.

Try cranking up the wattage to 60watts. Would put on one of these on instead of the stock firmware FJ firmware AF firmware or sur_evic firmware. If that doesn't work with the stock 316L settings use these. Or use a set TCR value.

@PoopMachine I've recently purchased a modefined Lyra ($40) and it's a beauty to work with. All of the info and adjustment you need is displayed on the screen plus it has 4 buttons instead of the usual 3 so no hidden button trick. Tcr is easy to set up and pretty responsive. The SP needs higher settings. Agree with @HerbieVonVapster that the fj firmware is way better than the stock

Ive got AF installed on my Evic. I used the out of the box numbers sent with the unit to zero success in TCR mode. Ill try these and see what I get.

@TNT_error Can you give me a link? At that price I can buy two mods. Mrs P loves her Source XL for wax so I can upgrade her too.

I wouldn't recommend 60W on a single cell vape though, especially when most users are buying the much recommended HG2/30Q/VTC6.

On a fresh cell (4.2V) you would already be drawing close to 16A right to begin with (and those above-mentioned cells are only 18A CDR) but as soon as it drops to 3.7V (and with the voltage sag those cells have, it's quite instantaneous under load, if not completely immediate) then you are already drawing 18A. Then the rest of the time you'll be exceeding the maximum discharge rate and potentially damaging your cell (and then it's a vicious circle, as it's max rating will get even lower etc)

It's less of an issue with TC mode, and yes we are mostly pulsing. But now that more and more people use cruise mode, we're clearly in the "continuous" scenario rather than merely pulsed. Anyway any cell operated at its CDR will have a shorter lifespan.

I bought the short wooden capsule stem with glass stem insert from lamart.ch:

http://shop.lamart.ch/index.php?route=product/product&path=64&product_id=303

This is working well for me with the S&B dosing capsule. I'm using TC mode on my Eleaf iStick Pico 75W. The capsules require some attention when filling and capping. At first I had a hard time getting the cap to stay on, then I had a hard time removing the cap when it was pressed on too tightly. I seem to have found the balance now, and I'm able to get nice hits without combustion. I still experience some uneven charring of the load, but it beats combustion any time.

@PoopMachine - just curious if you've removed the sleeve and fired the SP with the coils visible? Do they heat up and glow as expected? I remember starting out in wattage mode and combusting frequently with watts set below 40, so the unit can easily deliver enough heat to produce vapor.

I run VTC5's and Samsung 25r on my regular box mods, but new mod is the RX2 21700. Got a battery reccomendation for that? I was looking at the Samsung 30T. Can't wait to try out my Stempod.

Not much choices for 2x700's at the moment. But stick to Sanyo/Panasonic, Samsung or LG and you should be good. I heard the latest Samsung cell is brilliant indeed.

Looks like this needs a heat sink. . . The silicone ring is a turn-off for me, especially since it apparently can catch the screen as you try to remove the stem...

I have my Stempod in the Spanish customs. Apparently there is some new law and all atomizers and ecig paraphernalia have to be revised by an inspector. I already paid 40€ in costs and they haven´t said a word about when will I receive the unit or if the modpod must be returned. I feel like living in the past century right now what a bunch of thieves they are. Wish me luck!

AH man that sucks.. It's one of the reasons I moved out of Spain. My work at the time relied on receiving international parcels and they really fucked it. A bad joke of a beaurocratic taxation system similar to 3rd world countries.

Hell must be very similar to customs ahahaha but I think I managed to do all the paperwork and the Stempod may be in its way here. If my business depended on these customs I would have done the same. The amount of time I had to spend in order to get a package received is just insane and the delivery time is a joke.

On the other hand, could any of you recommend good coils from aliexpress? I am new to this world and don´t know which spares to buy.

I had good luck with the mad rabbit ss316L assortment wheel. It has a bunch different wire build to play with. The SS is good quality and does TC great. Haven't tested them all but so far like the hive coil the best.

O ring can be removed if you prefer, the catching of the basketscreen can be prevented by squishing the basket screen slightly so it grips the stem more
