Someone from Davinci finally got back to me, and this person was at least knowledgeable about the product. Apparently the odd symbols and letters I see are supposed to be humorous messages of some kind. They are unintelligible to me, heh. I guess I don't get the joke. Anyway, the unit is fine.

:hmm: mIQro humor. Really?

—IFF (if and only if) one can only read them?

Seems a bit out of place, when a new commercial product is launched. :2c:

Still, cute.

Sooo… how is Davinci customer support? My current experience with them is...bad. Is that the norm?

I submitted a ticket about my MIQRO, and received a message back from a representative who only asked me if I had paired the MIQRO with the app. Since the MIQRO doesn't have an app, this confused me, so I asked what they meant.

And that was it. No further contact. No acknowledgement of my question at all.

Eventually, I figured out the answer to my question by posting here, so I'm good. But...

Is this what I can expect when I have problems with Davinci products? I really like the vaporizers, so this concerns me a bit.
I've been talking with the Davinci community outreach coordinator who runs the DavinciVaporizers account here and on Reddit. They've been very responsive for the most part and have answered all of my questions, so I suggest you do the same if you're having issues getting in touch otherwise. :-)

Miqro got TOO HOT to even hold after 2 sessions.

Being able to use the vape continuously should not be a luxury earned through purchasing a sleeve. It should come standard with the vape and not as a bonus package.

#Freethesleeves.

Just my 2 cents.
I agree. An extra battery and the sleeve should both be part of the basic package.

Agreed.
Further, the reports that folks are not receiving a glove when it is promised in a package, I find unprofessional and is a primary reason I will likely continue to pass on trying this vape. That is a shame, as it seems like the Davinci model best suited to my needs, and I was looking forward to finally trying something from this company.

Ouch!

Sounds like an aftermarket silicone sleeve may be a must!

Or bust.
Was thinking about a miqro I have one of the original da vinci radio looking vapes and its been a great little vape but has seen little use since I got my Solo. Just getting the itch to get another vape. Davinci is good because they ship from Canada for Canadian orders so you dont get raped with customs etc. Cant understand why other companies dont offer the same . Davichi even offers free shipping just like orders in the States.

The glove and case only come with the explorers collection at this time.

Can't say I feel undue heat from my mIQro
After two back to back sessions at full temp it does go beyond 'warm', and becomes 'hot', but not so much that I can't handle the device without the sleeve.
I haven't bothered using my sleeve, partly because it's not quite as snug on the unit as I'd like (tolerable though ), but mostly because I don't feel I need it.

I handed mine to my GF while at peak outer temp and she remarked how it would "make a good handwarmer" and proceeded to wrap her hands around it to enjoy the heat (despite being fairly sensitive to high temp's ).
I would guess that I'm average in this regard myself, and I can wrap my hand tight to it, and keep it there for minutes at a time without real discomfort (caveat: I haven't gone for more than 2 back to back max temp' sessions, it's a struggle to even sit up straight by then! ).

I'm still very happy I bought the mIQro as it's pretty much exactly what I imagined, and hoped it would be.
It allows me to take short puffs of dense, tasty vapour in a similar way to VapCaps, but is very different otherwise.
Flavour is actually better than I expected though, drops off pretty quick compared to the best convection vapes, but great to start with.

Still having trouble finding a UK source of good 18350s though :ugh:
@Davinci_vaporizer, Id love to spend my 'Davinci dolla' on 18350s, but your shop doesn't list them...

I've been using the mIQro multiple times a day for about 2 and half weeks now and I haven't had any heat issues with mine. It gets pretty warm after back to back sessions but no where near too hot to hold without the glove on.

No issues at all so far. Nice vapor and simple to use.

I've given it a couple cleanings which has been easy. I keep the glove on it for a little bump protection and the carrying case is nice, as well, if you like to keep the vape inside a case while not in use. Good size and feel to the case.

Good to hear. I didn't test the Miqro yet so i can't comment on it, in no way i'm bashing it...
Just the IQ with the stock battery was getting very hot after a 8-9 min session... changing batteries fixed the issues.. but i would still love a nice silicone case or leather one

How to Miqro dose like AJS

Prep:
#1 Completely unscrew the pearl until it is off.
#2 Load chamber with your desired amount with medium-finely ground herb.
#3 Drop the pearl in the chamber and lightly press down to tamp load into place.
#4 Keep pearl unscrewed, close the lid flip over and heat to 410. (micro dosing works better with higher temps ime).

Vape:
#1 Hit a few times during heatup to savor flavor and keep the vapor from getting stale.
#2 Puff at 410 until satisfied and bump to 430.
#3 Vape until vapor slightly slows down. Take out stir tool, flip over and remove pearl with the tool, it very easily catches on the grooves in the pearl to come out, do not touch, place aside. Stir load by flipping bottom to top a few times. Place pearl back inside using the stir tool, do not touch, tamp down lightly with tool. Very easy to do. Close lid.
#4. Enjoy your last few rips of surprisingly large vapor after the stir.

Can use small amounts this way and get a nice dark even browning and finish a sesh within 5 minutes, while still getting the best of small dosing, good flavor, decent clouds, and full extraction.

Ha, mine gets too hot to hold if ran on max temp for about 8-10 minutes. I have to pinch it from the top.
Yeah, even with the sleeve, it still comes close to being too hot to hold when doing back to back sessions. It is a necessity, IMO.

Do these get uncomfortably hot like iq ? Summertime it gets too hot for me to hold aftwr a 5 minute session winter spring and autumn is not bad, winter best, the cold air helps keep the iq warm at best to touch

The miqro I had felt exactly like my IQ and they both read the same on my thermal camera. 115f is not hot for a vape exterior. But if you thought the IQ was hot, then I’d put money on you feeling the same way about the miqro.

How hot a vape feels is subjective and very personal. I thought the IQ was fine, on the very warm side, while my wife couldn’t hold it. That’s why I decided to start measuring these things...so we could be subjective about them. All you have to do is go find out what 115f feels like. Turns out it’s just like the IQ...

And since a lot of my vapes read 115f and don’t feel as hot, I surmised the material makes a difference (I think my plastic vapes feel cooler). I should mention 115f is the hottest the miqro got at the highest temp setting. Lower temps weren’t hot and weren’t measured.

is there a serial somewhere other than the sku and barcode on the box? Im about to buy one second hand but he says there is no serial on the unit, just trying to make sure its the real deal but, being so new I doubt there would be fakes right?
