Hey guys keen to puy the trigger almost did! But figured I’d come here before I do it wrong. I wanna go into 14mm and 18mm female glass, I order the Aussie 220v, the two 28mm dishes the 18mm and 14mm bowl, the handle, the carb cap and I’m good to vape herb through my 18 and 14mm female bongs? Almost jumped the gun but figured 2 weeks postage might as well ask. Also can discount code floating around?
Cheers

You can use "vapecritic" for 10% off.

I'm not sure which dishes you plan on ordering, but I'd absolutely recommend getting the 28mm NewVape SiC dish over the quartz. The performance is MUCH better. I don't think they should really even offer the quartz at this point in time, imo. Maybe pick up a quartz as a back up if you want, since they're only $10.

Also make sure to pick up one or two of the Ti double weave screens. They help keep your glass nice and clean.

Regarding bowls, you only need to get one of the new adjustable bowls (Panhead or Shovelhead), but just get two posts. You'll want the 14mm and 18mm posts. That way you can just swap the post out on the bowl, and use it in any size glass. The only real reason to get 2 bowls is if you wanted to never to have to change the posts. But it's super simple and takes 5 seconds.

For the carb cap, make sure to get the VRod carb cap, it fits the VRod perfectly.

You don't mention picking up a coil or controller. Do you have those already, or were you picking up a bundle from NV that contains those? I'm sure you're aware you need them, but just want to double check that you're getting them. Don't want it to show up to your door, and then you still can't vape for weeks as the parts cross the ocean again!

Good luck, and ask any other questions you might have. You'll love the VRod!

BTW still waiting on a comparison of the NV 28mm SiC and the D-Nail SiC Halo and also one of the SiC dishes with the VRod carb cap and the D-Nail carb cap 2.0. F
or sure some of you have them all and can tell their opinion on them.

I'm curious about the D-Nail cap as it seals inside the dish instead of outside, but I honestly don't know of any member that has all of those parts.

Hey mate you’re a legend. Yep I’ll go both dish as spare and just got the bowl with the posts. I select an enail and believe this comes with the coil already? If not what do I choose? I’m on the vrod starter page and building from there so far I have

28mm dish
18mm
Handle
Carb cap
Screens
Under enail and 20mm coil I have
220v AU nail.
That’s ahould be everything essential to vape dry herb?

You're good to go! Yep, it looks like the starter kit includes the coil when you buy the enail.

Awesome when I first looked ages ago the website was a mess for those tryna build a kit with zero nail knowledge. Much simpler now. Thought it looked right but two weeks postage for $60 USD to get it wrong I’d hate myself lol

The coil you already have, which direction is it wrapped and how many wraps. The VRod has a very tight fit and is direction of wrap specific. Respect! -YaMon

Sorry, I don’t have a coil. I’m enail noob 500% hence the anxiety. But I believe the enail you get from newvape (Aussie 220v for me which they didn’t always offer so I was apprehensive to frankenvape up something) comes with the correct coil?
I want to microdose mostly flower is vrod what I want?
Cheers guys. Seems much easier now with the new site, still a little daughnting for newbies. I almost went a full bundle to ensure it’s all micky mouse but I can’t justify the glass.

If you are a flower guy you would be well served with a shower head or a VROD. If you plan to do any concentrates at all I would recommend the VROD ---> if your strictly flower get the shower head.

Normally 100% flower out of avalibility but some shatter has recently come into my life so both would be nice. Is there much lost with flower in the Vrod over the showerhead. Say if flower was used 95%+ of the time?

Most people who have both say the SH is a bit better with flowers, at least it's easier to get an even extraction. A lot of users mean it's the same and just a few prefer the VRod with flowers. Common sense is concentrates are much better with the VRod paired with a (D-Nail) SiC dish than using the ti dish of the SH.
If you want to be open for consuming more trates go with the VRod. If you believe you'll not consume more trates but want the best for flowers better go with the SH.
For trates ony there are even better choices than the VRod for sure like the bangers of @710Coils.

I live in a legal state and guess what — it's harvest time! I've discovered that the SH is perfect for just directly vaping fresh, uncured buds brought right in from the garden and cut up with scissors. Sure, over the next few weeks the entire haul will be meticulously trimmed and dried and packed away into airtight containers but I've really been enjoying these quick hits of fresh flowers. These flash hits wouldn't work with any of my other vapes; only the SH has the power and the flexibility to do this. What a fantastic unit!

Hehe, when I first got my flowerpot I sold my mighty instantly, wont need it again. I was doing weekly purchases with newvape for a bit. As I mentioned this is a virulant form of vas, its the NV-Vas strain. Bank book murderer. Credit card molester ;)

If you are doing nearly 100% flower then the shower head would be perfect. You can still do concentrates with the shower head using a few methods.

Be sure to check the FC classifieds, there could be a member selling their SH for a VROD or something like that. I would check for you but the VROD attacked me this morning.

Even if it’s 5%, the ease of cleaning with qtips to me makes the SiC Vrod a superior design IMO.

During the first week of owning it I was disappointed at what seemed to be an inefficiency to fully vaporize concentrates. However after a few weeks of testing and seeing the info posted by another about how NewVape states a 225F difference between coil and surface temp of the SiC dish, I’ve found for my controller that it needs to be at 700F for me to fully vape all of a small dab. If I want to drop a larger dab on it I’ll turn it up to 800F, which makes the surface temp of the dish perfect for dabs (I always use the Vrod cap when dabbing, and actually prefer the cap on for flowers as well). So now that I’ve figured out what numbers I like for flowers and concentrates I’m confident you’ll be best served in the long term with the Vrod + SiC dish. It’s seriously an amazing product! :leaf::brow:

Agreed, the ease of cleaning a SIC dish is huge for me too. Since you bring up cleaning your SIC dish I decided to share my 'q-tip deep clean method'. I pieced it together from several other methods and is easy, fast, and effective. Usually this take one cycle to be completely clean under 5 minutes.

Q-Tip Deep Clean Method
  1. Set the temp to 245F
  2. have a dropper bottle of distilled water, and one for ISO
  3. Fill the dish about half-way with a dropper of distilled water
  4. Add a large drop of ISO to the distilled water in the SIC dish
  5. At this point you can see a reaction and black debris begins lifting off the dish
  6. Swab with q-tips until clean and repeat if necessary
  7. Use the point of a bamboo skewer if a spot needs a gentle scrub, never use metal
  8. Turn the VROD's temp back to your temp (mine is 740F)
  9. If a dirty spot remains turning it back to use temp will also cook off small spots
:)

I’ve only collected my FP AVB so far so I can’t give you a point of comparison right now, but I had to ask how you know you’re “not fully vaping” it?

If it’s just that the color is light, I think you can get pretty full extraction in the FP without getting dark AVB under the right circumstances. If that’s what’s happening, I’d say it’s a win.
Yeah I'm not turning the temps up as hi as I used to and leaving some slight greens in the substrate so assuming there's still some thc and cbd left but when eat some it does nothing so just wondered if anyine else manages to feel anything when they use the abv from the SH.I've started throwing it away now.

hey dudes, got some questions..
first, how long is your fp turned on?
i mean do you turn it off, after every hit, or let it stay on for a couple of hours?
second question is, does anybody know what the set button is good for?
I find it somehow difficult, to navigate between temperatures, because it always takes several minutes to settle at the desired point. fromm room temp to 625f around 4mins.. but thats normal right?
thanks for your time
