Question about the screens: would the Sticky Brick ones fit in the Dobby? I can't find the screens on the green dream website.

Hi @Dutch-Mic , I didnt try it but seems the bowl size are very similar of both SBJ and Dreamwood's.
I would suggest that use the ultra fine screen from vaponic, i use the original screen as mold to cut the vaponic screen to suitable size, i can say it is the best screen for all these convection vape, good air flow and trapped all the small particle, I can put in kief to vape without get any small particle in my mouth, easy to clean, highly recommended.

Or you can send a email or PM @Dreamwood in instagram(@Dreamwoodvaporizer) about the screen, I sure Steffen could help.

I really want to share more about my Punch, this little guy hit me really hard, I am really in love with it. And it is a piece of art, i can watch the wood grain all days.

And the usage is very similar to the DLX M and PRO, you can turn on large flame and inhale fast, stop fire when you see/feel the massive vapor, it is like portable bong, smooth but without water, the taste also very great, and the material are roasted very evenly with big flame, no need to stir when you mastered the technique.

Question about the Dobby. I noticed that the woody taste never faded away (which is okay) and that I couldn't taste the lovely terpenes as good as a few months ago. I thought it was cleaning time and used a Q-tip and a tiny bit of warm water to clean the chamber and airpath. While cleaning I noticed this:

Maybe a "naive question", but are those little wooden pieces (really don't know how I should call it in English) standard with wooden convection vapes? And could those be the reason that the woody taste doesn't fade away?

Dear @Dutch-Mic , I experienced the woody taste are mainly because it is the walnut wood, my lily from other fc member who bought the first batch from triihouse at 2015, it still have strong wood taste, in a good way:)

Although i don't have any experiences with the Dobby, maybe i can give some Input. While my SBJ maple doesn't taste woody at all (it has similar wooden pieces or rather splinter?) my Vapman walnut basic, which i only use with the Station (so no charing involved) still tastes a little woody. Maybe with prolonged use (when it gets sticky like my vapman yew-tree) it will diminish. My Dreamwood DLX Pro Classic Olive is also quite odorless.

Hi combustion fuckers! This is my first post in this forum, after been lurking for some months.

@Dutch-Mic, I have the same doubts about the taste of my Dobby too. Mine is also walnut and has some wooden pieces in the vaporpath.

At first, I thought it was butane taste what I was noticing, as it is my first “direct inhalation” butane vape. I mean, I have a couple of Vaponics and two Vapcap Ms as butane vaporizers, but you don’t inhale the butane stream with those.

But these days I have been thinking of it, and really the taste I’m getting is very different to the smell of the butane, so it makes sense that it is the wood, and not the gas, which gives that flavour to the vapor. This idea makes me less worried, so I’ll take it.

@paehtod, the Vaponic screen trick makes wonders avoiding the smallest particles to go into my mouth, thanks for the tip! From the day I’m using it I don’t see any piece of herb stuck in the mouthpiece, while it was getting dirty very fast with the original screen.

I was doubting between the Dobby and the SBJ and finally went for the Dobby. I’m very happy with the purchase, because I wanted something with a bigger bowl for the weekends than the other vapes I have, and this little thing is a steam train! I often must look at the bowl after a big hit because I can’t believe it isn’t combusting.

:D
I had the same feeling recently, while using my dreamwood pro xl with water (and my sbj) after improving my heating technique. I almost expected combustion hit after hit because of the amount of vapor but the good taste was irritating:hmm: Big AND tasty hits with a torch driven vaporizer :haw:

A couple of weeks ago I asked Dreamwood to surprise me with a €150,- "mystery vaporizer". To say I'm happy is an understatement:

They sended not only a beautiful Kingswood punch mini, but also a cocobolo roasty mini (can also be used as a Vapcap stem) and an olive wood roasty. Well, to be frank, they sended even more:

Beautiful package with lots of useful accessories!

The punch mini is really mini:

Although it's small, in my experience the vapor is cooler and tastier than with my Walnut Dobby, and it seems to extracts the goodies quicker. With the carb hole you can adjust the density and heat of the vapor, so it's also a bit more flexible than the Dobby.

If you consider a butane convection vaporizer, then I really recommend Dreamwood vapes. The craftsmanship and customer service is excellent! One more photo:

I contacted Dreamwood and they told me, I paraphrase, that they have designed the atty smaller with a special flat base and that the coil will be available especially for the glow. The coil does glow, and the price point will be announced once the production is finished. I hope that this answers your questions :)

For any other questions I advice to mail them, in my experience they'll answer your questions quickly.

Beautyfull Punch mini! is it a special edition because i only find the 'normal' punch on their website. I love the idea of a punch glow combo on my table: different days need different vapes. A butane convection vaporizer to give my vapcaps some competition and 'tank' vape when i don't wanna use my torches. the craftsmanship looks great on both. I am a sucker for wooden vapes since my first mflb. Wooden vaporizers always intice me to working with wood myself. keep up the good work!

I know they accept custom orders, maybe you can ask for a matching glow and Punch?

I also love wooden vapes like the Dreamwood and MFLB, functional pieces of art :)

Greetz from The Netherlands, have a nice weekend!

Today I'm enjoying the Punch mini from Dreamwood. It hits so hard! Really love the ritual of hitting it and love the search for the balance between great taste and nice clouds. Anyone else still using the Dobby or Punch?

Yes I agree! You can play around with the flame size, distance of the flame versus the heat intake and the draw speed to get the desired hit. After using the Dobby for a while I can easily get the hit I want :)
