purple days screen replacement

my purple days has been idle for a few months now as i haven't been able to replace the screens. i tried soaking the tubes in rubbing alcohol to keep them clean but they eventually got too gunky to be used. no air would pass through, let alone any vapors. i want to get this fixed but i think the small metal clips on the inside even got lost. so i'm not sure what to do. anyone have any success replacing the screens ?

i have 3 tubes and a PD that can't be used :( i'm on the verge of buying another vape because i can't take smoking any more.....

No need to have an idle PD for a few months. Why not post this in the PD thread, or email Tom directly? I'd bet you could have been up and running a long time ago.

Or you can go to any tobacco store and get some stainless steel screens. They will be too big but you can probably get four PD screens out of each one. Plain old household scissors will cut the screen. Cut the screen into a square of the right width first, then nibble away at the corners till you have a round disk that will fit in the hole. Use a straightened heavy duty paper clip to shove the old screen and clips out of the tube (shove from the plastic end). Use a 1/4" drill bit reversed to shove the new screen into place (a chopstick will make a good ramrod) . You do not need the clips at all. And you don't need to buy screens from us. Problem solved.

You can also pick up some cheapo bamboo skewers from Walmart or the grocery store. The flat end is good for changing screens. The pointy end can scrape stuff out of your screen when necessary.

Get some 99%+ ISO, will clean it brand new.

I've used 1 tube for over 12 months now.

Me too, and I've been using 70% ISO. Do an ISO bath once a month.

Paper punch works with screens too. I ordered a 10 pack from ALT and get
3-4 out of each screen like Tom said. I change the screens every 6
months and have about a week long iso soak rotating between two stems. I let my whip ripper sit in grunge off overnight once a month and it comes out lookin brand new. GO works even better than iso but is more expensive.
