Trying to think of a name for my latest brain child without just resorting to Rainbow something or other. If you're interested in the 4x4 Bud / Quad Bud / or whatever better name I can think of, it will be available by special order. I'm going to throw one into batch 8 just to see how it winds up. Base price on Quad Bud will be a flat $200 right now while it's not built yet (plus mouthpiece / shipping / battery). I'm sure that price will change. It's not on the website yet, so you'll have to contact me here or via email (vapwood420@gmail.com).

.
LB-Q and LB-EQ?

Lil Bud Muti Species edition,
Ok never been great with names :) Is this going be a new vaporizer, or more a custom LB?
Other than the wood glued together are there other things that will set it apart?

Couple of question on switch failures. Do they just stop working? Or do you get some kind of indications before hand.
Not sure with Batch 7 who got the new or the even Newer switch? I reminder at start of batch Mike had switched to a 3amp switch. Was there quality issue found with those switches? Or is it just these newer ones being of a higher quality?

@HerbieVonVapster The first switch change had a couple of issues, nothing like the first switch, but there were a problem on two (one may have been a short). This new, new switch looks similar, but is a of a higher quality, and twice the price. It also has seems to stay quite cool, which I believe is very tell tale. The cooler the better.

The multi-species LB's are Classics through and through. I've already have a few people expressing interest. Will be cool to see what comes out of it. The idea will be to join the body before doing anything else, creating maybe a 12 to 36 inch blank, with an LB every 6 inches. Whoever orders the first unit will get the trend going. Switch boxes and back plates could be different on each one. At a certain point, I'll build a few and just offer them for sale.

I knew once the design was nailed down, some big things could happen, such as cosmetic customizations on LB (multi-species, beading), technical advances (Elite), new designs coming to fruition (Timber), as well some work with Alan. Bingo, bingo, bingo, bingo...

Beyond the delays issue, how do the LB and Grasshopper compare? I’m waiting on my LB (and sadly GH RMAs as well).
Deff extracts just as fast. GH is a set it and forget it tho and LB you have to regulate your temp .. it's nice not having to put LB through water when with the GH it's a must.. I get a couple stems more with the LB ... GH batteries are tiny.

Mike is one guy--- GH idk how many people but difference in customer service isn't comparable since I know more people have a hopper vs a LB . If you took 100 LB customers and 100 of GH customers and asked about their experience I'm sure it would favor @Bravesst . He's always active and I've never heard from HL besides emails that they most likely copy and paste because it always seems to be deja Vu opening anything from them.

Hopefully that changes. The whole pen shape is cool but for most it's not even reliable. I love the GH but so far both my GH and LB are reliable never warranty my GH and I might never have the pleasure of dealing with them. Which I don't mind

Now LBE is going to make GH obsolete in my scenerio I just haven't used it enough but sometimes I don't like to ride the fine line of combustion so I take out the GH for the level 5 thought-less rip. LBE will do this and more but not burn my lips off.

I'd love to have a smart path similar to IQ as well so I can run through various temps without fiddeling

Got some interest in the Quad Bud (four wood). I want to clear it up a bit. I can incorporate Cherry / Walnut or possibly Maple into the main body, not Quilted Maple. Purple Heart is in very limited supply, and will most likely work as the back plate, with the stock I'm working with now. Of course anything is possible in the future, but with what I'm prepared to lay out for the project, and initial price I'm offering it is Cherry / Maple / Walnut for the body (2 woods) and switch box, Purple Heart as the back plate. I may be able to use PH for the switch box as well.

The switch usually gets hot first, then must degrade inside. I've also heard of it just getting stuck.

The Elite will have the bells and whistles to play with, but the experience of the Classic probably won't be beat. Since the recent changes, LB doesn't feel so unregulated - I like the term self, or manually regulated.

Ch-ch-ch-ch cherry bomb !

Loving it already  i didn't know which cherry id get, it's been used now , it's mine!

the wood grain figure of the switch box and battery door match well together and look great in contrast to the body . The Roasting Tube blends and compliments the wood grain of the entire unit . I'm very impressed ; what a great play of tones/nuances using one species of wood !

The 2.0 although the same size as 1.0 is much smoother to handle thanks to its more rounded back edges .

The 1mm raise of the tube insert cavity depth (where you insert the stem) allows the stem to sit higher and tighter in the LB , achieving a greater fit & seal compared to previous LB's.

The switch button is sick! Similarly to the rounded edges of the LB ; the rounded , flat, switch button feels very comfortable in hand and while in use . I really dig it's vinyl record effect while handling the LB and looking at the button . Overall , the switch button is not hard to press nor too easy to activate, it looks and feels strong . Booya!

I've only used it twice , I love its performance even more then it's built ! Will report more in coming days . Quickly , it is less of a learning curve then I experienced between LB 1.0 and 1.5 (pre and post Denver ) , what Mike wrote about heat having remained the same yet more readily available is true . The 2.0 seems smoother then 1.5. it's quick ! I basically roasted the perfect tube on the first run, said to myself , awesome let's do 1 more hit , charred it lol , my fault. I used my old Tube knowing I'd probably over do it and to be able to compare the units better. I predict good battery life and +95% even extraction without much stirring needed. Slow , fast or in between. Pick your medicine! It seems to respond well to smaller loads too !!! To be continued..... time to hit Blossom!

@Bravesst , thank you !! You're the best!

Congrats glad it got there safely!! Really like the look of you cherry LB.
Just wondering is it camera angle, Me or is this one of the slightly off centered switch LB? I think they where in the end of 7 batch? If it is you got a great deal. I only noticed it cause I know there's a couple out there. Hell I might even be wrong :)

New Bud New Tube , they are a very nice combo , thank you . I'm looking forward to try the Cherry Tube. Did detect a small difference between walnut and maple , they all have their purpose it seems, Cherry must be sweet!

photos don't do cherry wood justice compared to having one in hand , I can see why Mike loves it so much and pretty stoked to now own one .

@Slickwilly , with a bow! Nice! That's skills , they're big up close aren't they ! Thanks for sharing

Just did another quick stem... @Bravesst , you managed to tame the beast you unleashed in 1.5 , having it promptly obey on command! Anyone having waited or who like for vapes to develop a lil further, @little maggie comes to mind , I know you like wooden vapes, if you haven't got one already and like on-demand , we've got something here !

Lil' Bud Classic rocks

Ok LB still going strong, worked it's way into daily rotation which is saying a lot considering how many vapes we have in the house. I love these artisan vapes and buy them foremost to support the artist. If the vape is good, I'm happy. It will be fitted into the rotation and used often. If the vape is not good, so what!!! I am not upset. I will figure out the best way/techniques to use the vape and then gift it out. No loss to me. But this LiL Bud and the Customer service of Big Mike is definitely something to write home about. I don't know why but I am still loving the LB with glass. For me, it's been the short Splinter/Milaana glass. Tried at least 8 wood tube and even the long glass Milaana tube but the short glass allows me to gauge the temps better. It gets hot at the tip and the temp on my lips helps me to ride that button giving me the thickest hits.
@Slickwilly nice shot. Of both the LB and the coyote [never thought I would say that about a canine] but well done, they are both beauties.

@P.A.M. no sir that wasn't a shot of my LB. I haven't figured how to upload photos with tablet/phone yet. I'm always poking fun at my dad, he's one of my best friends. He's pretty predictable so I could probably figure out his handle very easily. I like to mention him because I know it drives him crazy!! Believe me, he is lurking around here everyday. He just can't log in because of Mom :goon::rofl:however, I did get this passion for artisan vapes from him. He always says to support the artist. Wood, metal, plastic or glass he just loves that people come up with ideas on how to get the most out of this plant without burning it. And he never gets caught up in the politics. He told me to not pay any attention because everything in the world started as one single thought. At one point... something didn't exist. There was a need for it. Someone Sat long enough with their thoughts and came up with an idea that stemmed from one of those thoughts. And guess what, that idea came into existence and someone else eventually made it better. He said, "do you think that the guy who first put banana leaves on his feet was upset or tried to sue the guy who decided to use a harder tree bark?" And every person who built upon that first individuals idea has now led us to all of the wonderful different shoes we wear today. He gave me many more examples and said son, just buy what you like. Support the artist and hope that his ideas will spark something in someone else. So now, that's exactly what I do. To hell with the "politics". I love the LB period. I can never be mad at my neighbor because he saw my house and took those ideas to build himself a better house :bang:

Thanks a lot for the super fast delivery time Mike, my new LB 2.0 looks amazing! Really like that new switch and rounded corners. Put me thinking to get a sandpaper and give my LB 1.0 a try to round it too :) . Photos and review after some good sessions.
Be aware LB 2.0, u ll be contested against my beloved LB 1.0 which had zero issues so far !!
Cheers guys and thx again Mike.

I guess I should count this time as work, but I really don't. I just spent the last 2 solid hours answering emails, making adjustments on the website, sorting out all sorts of stuff. There will probably be another hour of computer *work* before the day is over. I actually enjoy most of it.

I had some pricing eschew on the website. Just trying to get the options to jive from one product to the next. I actually wound up with a lower price for the exotics at $199 bare bones, plus $20 for the first stock mouthpiece ($25 each additional). That puts exotics with stem at $219 not $229.

Price List
Cherry $169
Figured Walnut $189
Purple Heart $199
Quilted Maple $199
Multi Species $200 (intro price)
Elite Pre Order $50 DP / $300 lock in price (plus shipping to be paid later)

First Mouthpiece $20, additional $25
2 Batteries $20
Shipping US $10 ($25 Canada, $35 Anywhere)

There are also switch box, back plate options, as well as the battery tester

Well first of all I would like to apologise to @Bravesst for having a tantrum over my shipping date last week. That was totally my bad and was out of line. I should have known better as I have waited for plenty of things before. Sometimes you can forget you are getting a hand crafted item from a person rather than a large company. The only thing I can throw up in my defence is that I am a vape nerd and I thought vape Xmas was happening and then it didnt lol. No excuse though and I am sorry.

I received mine in Hong Kong yesterday. I am on vacation atm and have been testing heavily. So far I am very impressed. The quality in the build is obvious. It is very nicely made. I will write more later but absolutely this is a topnotch vape. @Bravesst can I just confirm the wood. Is mine figured walnut or regular walnut? Thank you.

On the switch box how does that work. is it a user replaceable item?

It has been a few years since I have posted on FC, but I am so happy to be coming back and joining the ranks of Lil Bud owners!

After being part of the original Grasshopper wait, and then originally being very satisfied with my GH, I decided to take a step back from the forums and be happy with what I got (current collection: Grasshopper TI, MFLB, Arizer Air, Arizer Extreme Q, VapeXhale original ticker model Cloud). As I was looking to downsize my collection though recently, I realized none of the vapes quite handle the way I want a daily use vape to perform. The Grasshopper is that vape in theory, but reliability issue and poor battery life made it too much of a chore. I love the MFLB but it is primarily my stealth on the go vape. The Arizer Air is great but I get terrible battery life as I usually take a couple hits, forget about it until it auto shuts off after 10 minutes, in the meantime conduction has reduced the efficiency of my bowl and the battery is a third drained. The Extreme Q is great but not something I can really leave setup at this point in life anymore and is a massive cleaning chore due to so many parts. Usually only bust it out for parties with novices (bags are easy and straightforward). Lastly, my original Cloud is truly a cherished part of my collection but is not something I always have the time to wait on heat up for, and primarily is only used when I want to bust out my glass collection on special occasions or with 420 friends.

None of these vapes are able to meet all my demands of a daily use vape at this point in my life. On-demand hits, stylish looks that blend into my decor/life, portable, and ability to vape small loads. Really I miss the couple years when I owned a Purple Days. Always ready to go, always reliable, gorgeous, handmade, even my wife didn't mind it always being out and plugged in. After some research about what the new popular vapes on FC are since I left a few years ago, it became clear that the Lil Dub is exactly what I was looking for! Mike has been super helpful via email, and I am now soon to be a proud owner of a Quilted Maple with Purple Heart switch box and stem. It has been so cool to see the journey this product has taken and reminds me why I joined FC in the first place!
