Glad for the update, I decided to pull the trigger on the Triton OS. Had to do lots of research on mods, batteries, etc, but I settled on the eleaf istick pico 75w with Samsung 30q batteries.

I think this will work well for me - if I need more capacity, I might pick up the HS when it drops.

Sooo much information out there about mods, etc. For the average consumer, way too much information to handle. I think you would get really good ROI from a "Triton from Scratch" type guide which tells users everything they need to make it work, contains some of the answers from the Triton Unveiling w/ Sam, and recommending either the new Persei (if/when that drops) or a box mod that you know works well with it.

About to pick up my triton OS right now.

Is there a coupon code available for FC?

Does anyone use this with the SMOK PROCOLOR w/TC?

Any tips?

I'll definitely be getting that HC heater when its available, that thing is sweet.

Read through the thread but a lot of the info is over my head, New to mods. Plan on taking this camping with some non 420 peeps so tips are much appreciated, thanks.

Hey! I'm new to mods too, I just got my Triton a few days ago. I'm using it with an Eleaf iStick Pico 75w with TC.

I think the basics are:
- Mod should support as much watts as you want (some people using up to 65w on the Triton but so far 30w has worked great for me)
- Mod should have good battery power - a single 18650 battery is ok, some inbuilt batteries might be okay
- Mod should support TC, and hopefully Arctic Fox custom firmware if you want to upgrade later
- Buy good 18650 batteries. The electronic_cigarette subreddit has a ton of information on this but long story short use a reliable supplier and a reliable brand. I got these and the battery life is great so far on a single: https://www.illumn.com/18650-samsung-3000mah-inr18650-30q-high-discharge-flat-top.html

From what I know the Smok Procolor 225w should work great for the Triton. Just be sure to never set the wattage as high as it supports as it will definitely blow the heaters. That mod is a dual 18650 battery system, meaning it uses two 18650 batteries. It should have great battery life and stability due to a really big power source.

If you're using it on the go and you don't need the high wattage that one supports for ecig vaping, I would recommend a single 18650 battery mod since it seems to kick out plenty of juice and will be easier to pocket. 18650 batteries are surprisingly heavy (45g). I bought the eleaf istick pico in brushed black silver from directvapor.

So far I've only used the Ti 1701 bowl. I tried it with the titanium pad but it took a really long time to heat up that way at 30w, so lately I'm trying it without. I set the TCR to 225 and the max temp to 420-450, it takes about 10s to get going and then it puts out pretty heavy vapor. Should be very discrete around non vape folks, the vapor is very terpy however so you may want to blow it away. Most folks will think it's an ecig portable, unless they know you don't smoke tobacco.

Pulled the trigger last night. Thanks for the tips!

In TCR mode do you use Ti, Ni, or SS

In TCR mode do you use Ti, Ni, or SS

My mod (eleaf istick pico 75w) has those three modes, but it doesn't say what the TCR is, so I haven't used them. My mod offers 3 custom TCR modes called M1, M2, and M3.

I use M1 at 225TCR for the 1701 titanium and quartz. I haven't tried it yet but M2 is set to 352 for the dual sic coils. I found both of those numbers somewhere in this thread or on reddit from G himself.

How do you all store/carry used coils? I'm currently using CBD wax in my quartz 1701 and regular stuff in my Ti 1701. Right now there's some leftover oil in the Ti which I don't want to just waste/qtip, but it's sticky. Maybe I'll use a tiny plastic jar from the dollar store to hold it.

And how are people loading the 1701's? Most of the wax I get is kind of sticky, and I like that consistency (wax, pull n snap, etc) more than shatter. Using the included tool, I get a ton stuck on the edges. A toothpick works a little better but still it's hard to not get wax on the sides of the bowl above the holes.

I'm thinking about using my Ti tool and melting the wax off, but that's not practical when I'm outside. Maybe I should just get some good crumble next time and spoon it in.

Got it in today, quick shipping.

tried the Sirius coil and wasnt a fan. Tried a lot of settings, loaded a good amount. got a good hit but mostly whispy ones and the effect for how much i put in was Minimal

Just popped in the dual quartz and I'm blown away. After two hits I had to put the mod down. pretty much a portable enail.

I bought a Saionara a couple weeks ago to play with and it’s pretty good... but it prompted me to try the Triton OS as an upgrade. The reviews look great. I’ll have it in hand next week.

Nice! Coming from ACv2 I'm very pleased with performance but most of all usability so far. Have a few questions, maybe I should have sent to support

1. I'm new to mods and TC. I have been using TCR 225 with great results on both the 1701 Ti and Quartz. Today I tried the Sirius coil for the first time and TC doesn't seem to be working as I'd expect.

I locked the resistance at room temp (0.50 ohm), set TCR to 352 as recommended, and set temp to 450. I loaded about .3g of sappy ACDC co2 wax. When I press fire, my mod shows ~100F, and it rapidly shoots up to ~400 in about 1 second. The highest the resistance got was 0.54 ohm. I also tried using the Ti TC preset on my mod, and 225 TCR as well.

I was able to use it a bit, this morning I just held the button and sipped slowly for about 20 seconds. Even though Temp Protect went on almost right away, it pulsed off for a moment at a time. After about 30 seconds total I had taken a few small visible hits, which was fine for me.

Is this a problem with my mod, with the coil, something else? My 1701s take several seconds to get up to temperature and TC appears to work perfectly on them.

The Sirius is my first time trying TC on a coil atomizer, I haven't really used either of the dual coils yet, but I did briefly attach the SiC dual coil and it was doing something similar.

2. When you clean a coil by soaking it in alcohol, what if some wax remains in the coil/wick? In the past, cleaning my ACv2 coils, I had a bugger of a time getting it all clean even with 91% alcohol. I did recently buy 99% to try. With some wax remaining after a soak, do I need to fire the coils until everything is gone/dry? Or will the iso evaporate out leaving just the wax?

I don't care about taste, but I don't want to vape alcohol fumes. In the past it has taken several minutes of firing to get rid of all the residue/smoke after a long, warm iso soak, which is a hassle and surely doesn't help coil life.

3. After screwing in my SiC dual coil to test, and unscrewing it, the gold connector slipped off the atomizer. Basically exposing the ceramic and lead. The connector fits right back in but it's not snug and falls out - is there a trick to make it stick in there?

4. How tightly should I be screwing in the atomizers to the Triton OS? One time after vaping my quartz 1701 came loose from the Triton. It also said "No Atomizer" for a moment this morning while using it and I think it may have just came unscrewed. If I screw it too tightly (by hand) could it get damaged? Sometimes I feel a little grit as it gets tight and I don't want to destroy the threads. Everything has been wiped down with alcohol.

Any feedback greatly appreciated

Got my TSAF w/ straw prototype in yesterday. Very impressed with the results. Make a big improvement on the TI bucket.
What kind of improvements do you see? And what are your settings? I'm using TC @ 225, 450 degrees and it's working quite well for flavor and making decent clouds, while being efficient. It does take a bit to get the vapor going

There are a lot better solvents than ISO. My fave is chloroform. You have to get from a medical or scientific supply house, which is a bit of a hasstle, but when you use it, you will be amazed. And the stuff is so efficient that a liter bottle will last for years. With about a Q-tip full, you can completely clean a gunky atty in about two minutes. Squeeky clean. Cannabis crud dissolves in chloroform faster than salt dissolves in water. And if what you are cleaning out is still useful stuff, just put the used solvent in a small, disposable, aluminum baking tin, cook it for 10 minutes in a toast-r-oven at 125 deg. F. Then freeze it for a few minutes and you will be able to quickly loosen and remove a lump of brittle and/or waxy stuff. Throw it into the vape again and away you go. Incidentally chloroform is harmless for humans. They used to put it in throat lozenges. So if you inhale a few fumes after you bake the stuff, don't freak out. Just put it back in the toast-r-over for a few more minutes.

Thats a decent looking mod. It has a large solid 510 connector and I hear good things about the OMNI chips TC capabilities/accuracy. What size battery are you planning on using? A single 18650 may not get you too far, but it will probably still cover daily use. A 21700 might get heavy but I am over here using a 2x or 3x 18650 mod always so it cant be that bad. The extra power is always nice. I had a Pico with a 21700 and I loved how the battery would last almost the entire week.

I ordered a HOHM TECH Sherlock HOHM 20700 2782 MAH 47.8A battery. I hope it will be enough for my needs. I will only be hitting on it once or maybe twice a day. Will post my impressions on the correct thread when I've used it for a few days.

I get 10 or more sessions from the 1701 on a single 18650 battery so I think you'll be good. The dual coils in particular heat up very fast at a low wattage and should last much longer.

Thanks for the feedback, Acolyte. Have you ever used a quartz cup with a Vaporesso atty? I am very enthused about this possibility as it is guaranteed to be free of byproducts from oxidation of the concentrate. Also very simple to change out when empty and cleaning should be a breeze with the right solvent.

I have used the quartz 1701, both the quartz and Ti 1701 are just a bowl above a ceramic heater. So there's no wires in contact, just the bowl itself which heats up.

They work great. This type of heating does take longer than a coil because the entire bowl has to get to temp from the bottom up.

What's your concern about degradation? Flavor is very good from the quartz dual coil, I haven't tried the SiC dual coil but my older UP Tech SiC dual coil has great flavor if you vape it all in 2-3 hits.

Even with the 1701 you will get worse flavor towards the end unless you only load a small amount, because the terps will vaporize at a lower temperature than the THC.

Efficiency wise, I think the 1701 will be a bit more efficient since there's no where for the oil to run off to. It just sits in the bowl until vaporized completely. The coils are also quite efficient esp with the new leak proof design.

You're right that TC is not so precise - the temp you set does not always match exactly. But if you set a low temp, you will experience very good taste even from dual coils, even if the temp isn't exactly what you thought.

My concern is that if the concentrate is overheated it will break down into other compounds, some known and some unknown. I don't like the "unknown" part which could have long term health effects such as carcinogenicity. As a health care scientist who uses cannabis for control of chronic pain, I am very cautious about what I put in my body. When working with medical drugs and technologies, it can be up to 30 years later when we discover something bad that we did not know before. The list is long including asbestos, quite a few pharmaceutical drugs, and even combustion smoke! I do not like the idea that eventually I might have to say "Oooooops" LOL. I have an electronic research grade thermometer with a tiny thermocouple temp sensor at the end of the probe wire. It is accurate within 0.1 deg C. up to about 1200 deg C. So I will test the TC mode and temperature ramp features of the Armour Pro. Will report findings when my testing is done.

That's awesome, I would love to hear the results. I misread your previous comment, I have never used anything from Vaporesso.

Tons of unknowns when it comes to cannabis and vaporized cannabis in particular, but that's a problem with vaporizing concentrates in general. IMO the Triton is among the safest ways to heat up and inhale cannabis concentrates - perhaps a dedicated enail could have more accurate temp readings but that would be the only advantage over this system.
