CCA710 LIGER - AIR

Hi, Folks!

2 maybe dumb questions for ya:

1. For those using ruby or other spheres in the Liger Air, what carb cap are ya'll working with? I can't get them to spin with the ChadBro, and I got a V2 one with the decent angle on the spout. They spin if I suck my brains out when the dish is empty, but no motion on a normal draw with oil in the dish.

2. Anyone who is running the Air in a 10mm joint, do you attach and use the little downstem/direct inject that attaches to the bottom (the piece used to lock it into the 14/18mm adapter), or do you just use the top part that's basically a 10mm hole with no direct inject?

Trying to post a pic of my setup but looks like FC and Imgur no longer fox with each other or sommin?

Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm using a couple of Coojo caps; I can induce light spin by rotating the cap.
I've also induced spin using the Hurricane cap (once again not very fast spinning).

With regard to the 10mm joint, I just run "the top part" 10mm with no direct inject.
The DI attachment is for the 14mm & 18mm adaptors (which are reversible depending on whether you want a male or female configuration).

The bottom of the direct inject piece is shaped into a 6mm socket hex so that one can easily tighten and untighten the DI portion from the adaptor.

:peace:

I spin the beads with my Coojo. A modded Chadbro would do a good job as well. If my Coojo nipple was 1mm shorter and had a slight angle to it it would be perfect for the Air. It is a 9/10 as it is.

I use the Chad Bro glass terp trunk as well and I have no issues making the sphere spin. However, I took my cap to another glass blower and had him re-heat the spout to lower the angle on it. ChadBroglass NEVER (unless specifically asked to) makes the angle low enough on his caps for the Liger.

Consider doing as I did and get your terp trunk modified, or go with the 2nd best option, the Coojo glass carb cap (<-- Link to his Instagram).

Coojo charges a fair price and ships out very quickly. Chadbro takes a long while to reply and is a bit more of a PITA to deal with, but I LOVE my perfectly angled terp trunk and wouldn't want to use any other cap. I sold both my coojo caps after trying and comparing them.

Sorry to double post...but my Edit is long gone. I did speak with Josh yesterday and he mentioned that he had a big batch of 50-60 ready to go out. So if you are waiting on one it will most likely be filled soon.
I also asked how the new joint adapters work and he sent me a quick video. It looks interesting, how are you guys liking it so far?

I like the idea of the new joint adapters but they are too loose at time or it get stuck with reclaim. I ended up just using a 14mm to 10mm reducer with direct inject and works great.

To get them to spin, you need to create the spin with a carb cap that spins the air. I only know of the Gordo Riptides does that for $90.

Thanks, Everyone! I'll hit up Coojo.

@Gn0sis, do you mind me asking where you got your Chad Bro re-configured? I'd feel better having someone do it who has already done it, not that it's a big deal of an alteration but...

Thanks again, Everyone

Dammmn the stupid iphone didnt flip the screen..but here..just tried the air with my gordo cap and it gets those spheres to
spin :)

Cant try with Concentrates since my flat coil went back, waiting for my @710Coils on to come in :)

But u also have to draw strong to get em spinning proberly, as said i am
not a big fan of sphere(s) in the 20mm but will certanly also try out in the Air when they come in.

i went to a local small time glass blower in my city. it's a very simple procedure and any amateur glass blower should be able to get the job done. The guy I went to wasn't the most skilled or experienced. just make sure they put it in the kiln after to re-anneal the glass.

It cost me $50 to get 3 caps modified. The $50 amount was the lowest amount the guy was willing to fire up the torch for, so even if it was only 1 cap, it would have still cost me the same.

if you have several terp trunks laying around, it may be cheaper for you to go the option I went, but if you only have one, just buy a new one by sending Chad Bro a direct message on instagram and wait for him to reply. He constantly says in his live streams that he gets a TON of DMs and does the best he can to answer every single one of them. Don't expect it to be quick.

Last time I asked him to make the spout exactly how I want it and sent him pics of my modified one, he said it wouldn't be a problem to make a few like that. I just slacked off and never followed through, though I plan on reaching out to do that.

So my rubies came in. I used 2 5mm in my 20mm Liger and WOW. The hits are so much milkier and I certainly was more medicated off the same size dab, flavor was more pronounced as well. I am using the Hurricane cap but not getting them to spin, even without them spinning they are a game changer for me. Love them. Thanks to everyone here who helped point me in that direction!

Don't forget to start lowering your temp now! Now that it's vaping more concentrate per second due to the increased surface area, you don't need to have as high of a heat to maintain what you need.

Oh yeah, I'm down from 590* to 530*.
Damn, good to know. I dropped from 585 to 575 last night figuring I could drop a bit. Didnt think I could drop it this much, I need to really play around this weekend to dial it in. I can say that last nights hits did not taste burnt at all, in fact besides how milky the hits were I was really shocked at how many flavors came out in the dab. Tasted things I have not tasted before with this strain.

So I've been following on instagram - seems like all pre-orders have been caught up now? I'm still rocking my 3.0 20mm, and recently did get a Vrod to add to the collection, but I'm still wanting an Air for some big old globs now and then. I had kind of been thinking about picking up a KubeOne and the shroud for the 3.0 when it first came out - would a KubeOne + Liger Air be a worthy upgrade in my situation? I'm rocking my original High5 enail - glad I avoided the temptation to pick up a Hex-Nail in hindsight :D

Re: pre-orders being shipped, I can't speak for anyone else, but I ordered June 10, got my tracking number July 20, and my piece shipped last night. Will be here Shatterday.

@ReverendMobin There are some other IC-controlled units worth looking at now, too. Check out the MaxVapor 2018 thread.

If you dont already have one. Have you considered buying a sapphire insert?

Kubeone over your H5, you would get lights and an enail you cannot control without your phone.
Air over the 3.0 20mm, well its much lighter and looks better.

I think the MaxVapor might have to be my next purchase - looks great

I have thought about sapphire - but my SiC insert is glued to my 20mm Liger because I use a bubble cap, and wasn't careful enough to avoid globs getting on the outside of the insert, and have failed to boil off the excess, or soak it out. Would have to buy an air to get a new insert - hence my presence here :D

How hot have you gone? 900* and then a few cycles of iso swabbing at around 200 should get it free.

FYI this will discolor the anodization.

Do what @scalescliffs said to save your 20mm..

Then get an air and sapphire insert.

700° for a few hours or overnight has always unstuck my inserts so far, 800° for an hour or two has also been fine. Any hotter and you'll probably change the anodized coloring for no good reason. My Ligers (2 rainbows and 1 blue) have been unchanged from these temps.
