@Ed's TnT this is a fairly silly thing but just wondering if you could make something like this for me one day in the future?

sykuav.jpg

See the pink marker top? It is the perfect diameter to fit down the dynavap tip. then that little flange stops it at just the perfect spot to use with my Ed's TnT log. I use this as a tamper. Push it in once and away we go. It is perfect
EXCEPT that it is a pink plastic marker. I can't be seen holding this.

Maybe a different color marker?

I kid, I kid. A wooden tamper could be cool.

Hello everyone, hadnt realized how long it has been since my last post, been alot going on round here and is good to see. Time has been flying by, school has started and boys are growing and life has been busy busy. My baby boy is doing pretty good, hes putting on some weight and getting longer lol, sounds kinda weird as I cant say taller as hes not yet standing but hey growing for sure. Just scored tickets to Michael Franti in October woot woot, shoul,d be a blast. Got Marcus King coming up very soon which I am very excited to see again. Ohhhh I just got that super huge piece of Buckeye in that I posted several months back. My guy had it sit in his warehouse to dry for a while before sending it. This thing is big, he had to cut it in two to get FedEx to ship it. Is 5'x4'x3" and weighs 90lbs. I got a not so happy look form the guy when he showed up to deliver it lol.

Check out Lotty giving it a sniff, the large piece is so big if it fell on her could kill her. I havent had time to cut into it yet but have been looking it over here and there to find which and what way be best to attack it. I have never spent as much nor gotten a piece this freaking large. There are so many colors in it and will be a lot of fun blanking it up. I gotta get @phattpiggie some and will be fun for him and exciting to see what he makes of it also. Have an idea what he will do for a larger piece but keeping that to myself.

Had a great month last and dang happy to be back doing what I do and giving it all I got. I have just about caught up on all my backorders, custom and wholesale, what a relief. I gotta button up and tape down a few packages this weekend to get out first of the week. Will be several WS available in Canada from HerbCafe is anyone wants to grab one locally.

@ChocolateMonk Wow thats a great post and thank you very much for sharing your experience and also spreading the word, am most grateful, thank you.

@Ramahs You as well.

Ahhh you all it has been brought to my attention that the conical screens arent SS as they are said to be when purchasing them. @LesPlenty discovered this and he and I wanted to let you all know that its be best if you all give them a good flame treat before using them. I got some looking around to do before getting more.

@-dab8- or @LesPlenty I cant say anything about concentrate use as I have no experience with it.

@Squiby Hey hey so good to see you and you are right, lets see pics.

@anda1anda2 I am very glad to hear this and happy as well knowing you are enjoying it as much as you are, very good and thank you for letting us all know.

I am aware and have been told by a few users that there are battery powered devices that will power the WS away from an electrical outlet. There are a several posts here pages back.

@LesPlenty & @KidFated. thanks for the posts guys on the above.

@sixstringsmash Yes sir, I learned a bit since the first run, began making changes on the second and kept the placement the same since. What voltage or setting on the dial do you run yours at? Never the less you have noticed a difference and am glad you are enjoying it if just a little more. Sucks to hear about the power, was so hoping it wasnt anything else as I was reading.

@HughJundys Lol thats a beautiful stem bro and thanks for sharing your experience and your advice bro. I did make and offer a really neat poker/stir/tamp tool with Ti pointed blade with a brass feral at the opposite end for such a purpose. A great multi functional tool it just took quite a bit of time and didnt seem to sell that well. There maybe pics of them in the stem thread I have in vapor accessories. I made a few beautiful pieces with turquoise inlay as well.

@-dab8- I will run mine bout 8 when using the aromacup. Cant help ya with a case either sorry. The glass isnt going to work like the wood stem with tip. Like @sixstringsmash mentioned a fine grind is best. I place the screen in the glass stem about 1/2" load it and tamp slightly, then use it as I would the wood stem but stir when needed. A solid grind is a must and does sound like you have it performing better since that.

@arb haha you know you right.

@szai Me too, no pun intended.

@Slagzord Give me a shout and lets talk about an upgrade when you are ready. A vvps is a good idea to dial in exact voltage. Thats is something I want to be able to offer down the road.

I gotta say it again, I have a redwood burl WS that I have been using from the first batch. It is a species that not sure why but isnt very desirable to customers. I just plug it up, give it a few minutes load my stem the same way I always have and then just a I always do give it a long slow steady draw. Ive been using log vapes since the MZ and have always used this same technique. I must admit, I too were like many of you when I first got the MZ after having known nothing but combustion for my entire use. I got mine and loaded a stem tried it a time or two and was like hmmm, gave it a few more go's before settling in. I am a go big or go home type of guy and like to hit and quit and get on to my tasks but found I had to slow down and hit these things slow and steady and thats what wins every time.

@Aezhenn Wow thats a beautiful piece my friend, the inlay looks beautiful and can only guess how much time you have in it. What size is the larger hole you bored? If not large enough to hold a WS surely a great spot for a jar or grinder. Well done my man!

@KidFated. Hey hey hope all is well.

Sorry for such the absence yall, between watching lane, helping the wife and turning, it doesnt leave much time for much else. Have been trying to make this post for a couple days now. I will get up bout 3:30 with my son, get a bottle in him, hold him for an hour or so, lay him down in his swing, try to get some PC work done only to have him wake up after 30 minutes. Put the laptop down, try to give him some more bottle, hes back to sleep in my arms, lay him down again after a short while only to have him back awake again. Hes in the LR crying his head off, I am in the bedroom in total darkness while the wife is sleeping typing away doing my best to get this done. For some reason I dont remember it being this tough to get anything done with my other sons. I hope I have been somewhat helpful and if I can do anything pls let me know you all. Wish everyone the best.

I promised I’d post a picture of my new love once I figured out how...

As promised:

Love it to death, even if my spouse may have boiled frankincense accidentally (set at 10 with aroma dish) and now everything I vape smells a little like 3 wise men.

My variable power supply showed up yesterday;

I can confirm it is `Plug and Play' no cutting or soldering needed and it works great, easy to see voltage and easily adjustable (it is nice to be able to up the volts for the glass adapter and concentrates).
It also has auto input voltage so can be used anywhere in the world that has 100-240v(they even sent an adapter to suit Aussie plugs for me)

Hello everyone, hope all is well. Still awful hot down here, had a cold front blow down from the north, a few days earlier this week it was high 80's. Omgosh got out to the shop one morning and it was almost 60F, wow sure felt like fall was on its way but that didn't last long. Was just the wife and I an d our youngest last night. I got the steaks ready, she did the loaded tater skins and sauteed the onions, I did japwraps and Texas toast rrrr.

I am getting better doing Phattnaners, @phattpiggie turned me on these a bit back. I grill the bananas for bout 20 minutes, pull a side of the skin off and pour sugar on them, hit em with a torch till caramelized then yank em from the skin putting them on a plate with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

3096hcn.jpg

I am going to get there and one day they will look like his. I had never heard of such, grilling naners say what? Jeez they are good, kinda mixed results here at home but hey is what it is they sit well in my belly lol!

I ripped into that huge slab of Buckeye burl, cut a few blanks and made a WoodScents from one. I knew the slab still had quite a bit of moisture when my guy got it. It sat in the ware house a few months before sending it my way. I have a crummy moisture meter than I just haven't really trusted. I had to make a WS to bench test it to see if it was still somewhat wet. Buckeye being super soft dries pretty quick. I put it on the bench at max temp for 24 hours and saw no visible shrinkage. I have done a couple that were did have moisture and didn't know it and after 24 hours you can sure tell it had shrank so not seeing any in the BE was very good. I got a new load of Big Leaf Maple Burl in to, wow this stuff is freaking stunning, have a look at this new burl specie I added the other day.

This piece above has a burl wave, the rusty eyes really pop in this piece. So glad I have gotten more of it and will be making more soon. Turning these are really fun to turn, especially when you can see the beauty in the blank before you start then when its all done and I am applying that butter while its spinning on the lathe. I will let the wood and the rag get hot from the friction, the wood will soak it alot more and brighten up even better.

I also did a couple Hawaiian Koa and a couple Asian Black & White Ebony

I have said it here at FC before, this wood is notorious for worm holes and tracts. These little guys have to be some of the most determined fellas ever to work their way through this super dense wood, its crazy. These and more are available at my site.

I have found a new glass lab here in the US for WS glass. Just needed to find someone closer and to be able to speak to that person when I needed to is a big deal. Don't get me wrong I have many relationships with dealers, vendors and others all over the world I have never heard their voice but is always better when ya can. Besides, I can get my order in on a Monday and it will ship the following, just don't get much better than that when they have to make them when ordered. Will have them in hand middle of this coming week.

I have also made a great stride in the CE Cert. process, My guy and I have nailed down a company to help with this. We have finalized the cost and hopefully I can put together the rest of the funds to make this happen. Its not going to be the $10K we thought it would be at first but still isnt cheap. Would be great to have this done before the holiday season. Fingers crossed everyone!

@Aezhenn I will be looking forward to seeing that piece my man.

@KidFated. You better tighten up bro lol.

@FractaLSD Right on so you already know my work. Bro it only gets better. The WS is similar but does what no other log does, it gives you a powerhouse desktop and by utilizing DynaVap parts interchanges and in every package you get 2 vapes in 1, desktop unit and portability, no one else does that!

@-dab8- Bro that is a beautiful piece and a hella hit from the wife. Like I said by email, we will get you right.

@LesPlenty Great score bro, had a thought, just ordered a couple myself. Thanks for letting us know and for confirming its use, well done!

Hope all is well everyone and wishing you all the best.

I hope to be able to afford a second one eventually.
I just sent Ed a little slab of Huon Pine to make my second purchase a custom one, a couple of interesting bits of info about Huon Pine off wiki;
The Huon pine is Australia's oldest living tree and is one of the oldest living organisms on earth. Individuals have been known to reach an age of 3,000 years. Fossil records from a tree found in the south-west of Tasmania were dated at 3,462 years
And;
Huon pines are some of the oldest living organisms on the Earth. A stand of trees in excess of 10,500 years old was recently found in western Tasmania on Mount Read.
My piece was given to me by a friend that said this piece was cut down 20 years ago and the tree was estimated to be about 1000 years old by the size of it, they take 500 years to reach maturity.
I hope my 1.6 kg log does not get lost and turns OK.

Bugger!!! You had the same idea as I had. Huon Pine is really a stunning type of wood. Hope really your parcel is going through. Let us know how it turns out.
On the other side can you actually confirm that the WS is working on Tassie shores without blowing it up (230V)?
And whats required to make it work?
Curious to hear about this since i hesitate to order on for a couple of months.
Cheers and enjoy your walnut.

Works fine in Australia, so will work in most of Europe with a travel adapter.
That being said, the unit is 12 volts DC, you can run it off any 12 volt DC adapter or your car`s electrical system or a 12 volt battery and solar panel if you want to be green.
Do yourself a favour, don`t wait, get one, we are here for a good time not a long time!

I'd like to add one to mine if I can.
You could just get one direct for about US$10 and have a spare power supply and the extension cord Ed supplies with the unit to save either power supply that you use.
If you have no idea about electricity, don`t plug anything else into your vape except the cords that come with it.
For most other people, Ed has stated we can run up to 13 volts DC+ for short periods without any fear of damage.
