Need a little help

Hi ladies and gentelmen, I’ve been vaping my herbs for the past 6 months so I’m still relatively new to it. I have a volcano at home absolutley love it. Also a iq and a vapcap, but I’m missing a vaporizer I can bring with me that can hold a bigger bowl than most Vapes.

Here’s a list of what I’m looking for my research has led me to the mighty but maybe asking more experienced ppl I could get more info on it. I’m willing to pay so that is not a problem.

-flavour is important, so is vapor quality. Cloudy flavourful hits.

- battery life is important needs to last all night I would probably vape 4-6 bowls in a night.Replaceable batteries are preferred but not a must.

-does not have to be Discret have the iq for that.

- preferably full convection but I know it is hard to find what I’m looking for full convection.

- would like the bowl to be big enough to pass around 3-4 ppl. Maybe a bowl that could handle up to .5 of a gram.

- in a nutshell I’m looking for a desktop vape but that is portable. Right now when I got to my buddy I’m constantly bringing my volcano and it is getting really annoying.

Thanks for your help, but I know it will be the mighty.

Isn’t the ghost Mv-1 a really small bowl like a one hitter
Hmm, good point. From searching here I think it is around .1 gram.

I'm looking for something quite similar. I've been thinking MiniVap. It is on sale, yet the thread is pretty quiet...

Edit. Healthy Rips Fierce is another candidate.

Tubo evic all day long.

I’ve never tried the mighty so I can’t make that comparison but I find the tubo works great with a small or large load. The vapor is too warm for me with a short stem so I recommend a whip to go with it. Legend has it this is what they used to take out Hoffa.

It seems like you’re looking to use it for sessions, so is there a reason you want it to be full convection?

From what I’ve heard, I agree the Mighty (built in battery, hybrid heater) and Tubo (replaceable battery, convection heater) are good options.

If you really do want full convection and you want to go crazy with it, you can get a battery pack for the FlowerPot and take that with you. :science:

They actually released a battery chassis recently and they sell a battery that fits, so it can be a more compact unit than it might seem. Not something you can carry around in your pocket, but something you can easily take in a backpack, etc.

Other than that, I don’t know what a large load is to you or the upper limits of what all of these will hold, but here are some good convection portables:

Nomad (the one I really want)
MistVape Touch 2
Milaana
Li’l Bud
Splinter
iHeat

The last 2 are powered by 510 box mods (as is the Tubo, but it’s kinda’ built in unless you get the TuboX).

I *think* the Firewood 5 might also be convection, but I haven’t looked into it much yet so I’m not sure.

I hope some of those suggestions help!

Thank u so much I was thinking of the Tubo but wasn’t able to find how much the load can handle . I’ve seen some videos of ppl having their screens inside the glass mouthpiece. A load that I would consider biggish would hold up to .5 but that u don’t have to load it to the max to get it to produce.

You do load the inside of the glass accessories to pack a Tubo and honestly it doesn't seem like a grab and go vape to me. Maybe I'm just lazy.

I think a lot depends on how high you prioritize the convection/flavor item on your checklist.

If it was me shopping for a bigger bowl buddy vape I'd probably try the Healthy Rips Fierce just to be full featured yet convenient. Granted it's still a preorder so nobody knows how the vapor quality is.

I haven't owned a Mighty. I'm not looking to get one either since 1) I vape smaller bowls and 2) even with the lower price it's too expensive for such an old unit. Will a Mighty handle a half dozen group sessions on a charge? I forget if it was that it charged slowly or that the battery life wasn't the best given the size.

It really does sound like you could just get a Mighty and be done with it. It doesn't exactly have features to compare with modern devices - plastic body, slow battery, weaker heater, no screen for temp or session settings, etc. - but there's no denying people are devoted fans and love the vapor quality and flavor.

For me it's more of a "fuck those guys on principle for selling me their same old shit all these years later" kinda thing. I'd rather have the swappable battery, USB-C quick charging, and glass accessories flexibility of the Fierce.

Oh here's a thought: you might try a Sticky Brick JR. Big bowl and big potent hits that fold up to a little block of wood. You'd just have to fuck with butane.

Also, I really enjoy my Lil Bud and would recommended adding one to the arsenal of any convection lover. The draw technique takes time to figure out and you have to fuck with those high drain 18650s and their special charger. If you had that and a pair of long stems you and your friend could have a good time. It's not a session vape though so maybe just put that on your list for your next home vape. I love being able to get one or two huge flavorful clouds and then put it down for a bit.

You can load as much or as little into the tubo as you’d like and it will still produce vapor.

@stickstones can probably speak more to this, I believe he’s no stranger to packing his tubo and gear into a fanny pack and bringing the party with him.

I see @bossman’s suggestions for the sticky brick and the fierce. I think the fierce looks cool and that may be a great choice, but I think it will be larger in the hand than the tubo.

The sticky brick could work as well, though in my experience groups tend to do better with vapes that don’t require much finesse or attention. However, most folks I know are very unfamiliar with vaping so your experience may vary!

How promising so when u say I can load as much as I want in the Tubo what are we looking at here? I just want the best tasting vape with decent clouds, and if that’s the mighty then so be it but the Tubo looks like something amazing on demand session.

Some weird suggestions in this thread.
would like the bowl to be big enough to pass around 3-4 ppl. Maybe a bowl that could handle up to .5 of a gram.
If you want to pass around the vape do NOT buy the following devices:
- Ghost MV1 (small load size)
- Milaana (an unregulated vape to pass around in a group? not a good idea)
- Lil' Bud (unregulated)
- Mistvape Touch 2 (unregulated)
- Nomad (unregulated)
- Firewood (unregulated)
- Sticky Brick JR. (learning curve)

Unpopular opinion: All or most vapes with an unrestricted air flow are not ideal for passing around in groups. I love my Tubo Evic but the only way to share it with friends is through water or with a whip. Why? The vapor gets so hot! Guys, not everyone vapes all the time and can easily handle such hot vapor.

I also think that there's no good butane vapes for sharing. They all have a learning curve. So what to buy? I don't know. I've never tried the Haze Square but it could work. Or just get a Mighty. Happy vaping! :)

I agree that for groups of people with varying levels of experience an unregulated vape is probably not the best choice, which is why I also asked if convection was really a requirement.

I figured a hybrid or conduction option would be more appropriate for that application, but I was responding based on the OP’s requirements when I listed a bunch of unregulated (and a couple of regulated) options because I couldn’t think of many regulated convection portables that are currently available and have the battery capacity to handle a group.

If I were into group usage I’d probably use my FlowerPot, or if it needed to be a small-ish portable* maybe a Mighty or Tubo (do you find it very hot even in TC mode?). My Ascent could also work, but it’s not exactly state of the art these days. ;)

*With an external battery the FP can be portable, but more like “set up a small station while out somewhere” than “throw it in a pocket or bag and pull it out for a quick hit”.

I made mention of the vapor being too warm for a short stem with the tubo and recommended the whip. I don’t see that as an obstacle for group use, I rather like the whip for group use.

When I read the OPs checklist I think the tubo is a great match. Flavorful vapor, ability to handle a group of 4ish people, good battery life, full convection. Essentially a portable desktop.

With discretion not being a requirement I think that the tubo with a whip or a cooling stem (I’ve not personally tried one yet, but some people swear by them) is just what the doctor ordered.

And with @funkyjunky’s software use is a complete breeze! Cruise mode is great for group sessions and the temperature control means there’s no worry of someone accidentally combusting with incorrect technique which would be a concern as you mention with any of the unregulated vapes. Plus with the ability to prepack and cap stems you can easily pack enough for several sessions.

Otherwise I agree with what you have posted although an induction heater and a pair of vapcaps have been great for my groups and most of my people are non vapers. But everyone that can remember to respect the click does incredibly well. I’ve got no experience with the mighty or the haze square, they may both be superior devices, but I definitely think the tubo is worth the OP checking out and maybe looking up a few YouTube reviews.

@Greenleaf88 i don’t weigh my herb but if it’s a useful reference point at all I will often load equivalent to 1 vapcap oven’s worth of flower in my tubo and have a leisurely session at 375-385, though I mostly use it at night and at higher temperatures. It takes a pull or two to really get it going but then I get nice clouds and the herb seems to last a good while and is a uniform light brown. As far as max load, My screen isn’t pushed as deep as it can go but I was able to load 0.2 grams into the stem and cap it.

I think @vapenerd makes a solid point about the learning curve with butane vapes and unregulated on demand vapes.

I also think he's correct that the Tubo, while flexible and fun, is not the best choice for beginners. The airflow is way more open than my little Fury 2 and it the vapor is hotter without water.

So Mighty for the tried and true performance of an old device that frankly could use a version 2 or Fierce for the new hotness and who knows what kind of vapor quality since it's not out yet. Or the Square pro which does seem like a great fit for your use case.

In his quick early review Troy from 420vapezone only called the Fierce's vapor "slightly" better than the Fury 2, so if that's any indication it's likely not going to be a Mighty killer.

Aww yes, I see. Not so easy to fulfill all of OP's requirements with one vape.

Not sure what you mean by TC mode but yes, I find the Tubo Evic very hot. At first I though it's not a problem and that I could get used to it. Well ... looks like I can't. So I've kind of given up on using it dry. I use it often but exclusively through a water piece with a whip attached. Like that it's awesome.
+1 for the Plenty, you can fill almost 0.8g in full chamber, it's almost full convection and have a very free flowing airflow.
I totally forgot about the Plenty. Never tried it but Storz & Bickel is known for cool vapor. It also has a long vapor path so it's probably one of the few free flowing airflow vapes that is also great for group vaping.

That's an option of course. With a whip it should perform well as a group vape.

I'm sure vapcaps with an induction heater work fine in a group. But without it's tricky I'm afraid. Of course I can't speak for everyone but my non-vaping friends did not like the vapcap experience at all.

I’ve been looking what about the Tera from boundless looks like it could hold a 0.6. Anyone try it compared to a mighty?

I thought they called the mode where it measures the resistance and adjusts the wattage to try to keep the temperature stable “Temperature Control” (TC) mode...maybe I got the terminology wrong, but I’m pretty sure that mode is available and I’d think you could keep the vapor temp under control with it.

If not, there are also some little water pieces that will fit over a stem and should help without killing portability (at least around the house and stuff).

The Tera had some issues when it was released...I haven’t looked I to the latest revision, but I haven’t heard great or terrible things about it yet.

I would avoid anything that might be the first version though, and definitely read through at least the later parts of the Tera thread before buying to see how the current revision is.

I believe it's TCR actually. TC is a bit different. KeroZen and others could clarify. With TCR you can set the resistance and keep the temp stable.
- I'd think the Tubo already has this covered as it's running funkyjunky's custom software.:clap:

Beyond that, yeah you would want to lengthen the vape path and/or add a water piece.

Too right that it is trickier without the induction heater! I rarely brought my vapcaps out for group use because it became cumbersome to torch for groups and when people tried to torch themselves there tended to be slot of combustion due to distraction. The induction heater certainly made it way easier, but still a few people have gotten a little too distracted and gotten a mouthful of carbon!

The Plenty requires a plug to use, so I don't think a vape with a cord is a good choice for a group setting.

I'm not sure you cover all your requirements, but I would add two more recommendations to the thread- the Fierce, and the Venus Helios.
