Puffco Peak

Terpstar

i love terpenes
Has anybody been able to replace their enail with the Peak? What are peoples thoughts on the vapor quality compared to a proper enail?
Love my peak. But no chance has it replaced my liger. FOR ME, the peak is ideal for travel or for when i need a quick dab and i dont want to deal with a torch or firing up an enail. The vapor is just not the same. But this device is definently the best travel unit ive used.

On another note, i got a crystal star ufo cap. It splashes oil out the bucket and onto heating element. So i am back to using the stock cap. It keeps all the oil in the bucket and the atomizer nice and clean.

EXCELSIOR!
My enail has been unplugged since my peak came, but I still use a banger and torch daily too

May I ask a simple question, what uses more oil for
same effect, a banger and torch or a device as the
Peak or V.3 Donut, not taste just pure amount needed?
Throw the E-nail in there for a 3rd comparison.
Really want to know if anyone with experience
with both can venture honest opinions?

This is all valuable feedback! My enail is basically always on so it's not something I'm ever really waiting for other than the first dab of the day. What do you guys prefer about your banger setup? More surface area? Does it taste better? Do you get more stoned? What's lacking in the Peak experience?

I'm really content with my current gear, though the enail is tempting to keep hitting continually since it's nearly always on. Thinking I could save a bit of concentrate with a device like this being able to put it away when it's not in use and not need a "dab station" anymore. I live in a legal state and don't really have a reason to be so discrete but it's nice to not need a ton of gear and clutter. I do sometimes tire of the vape station compared to simpler setups.

Thx, great info, hope we can continue this feedback loop.
Need more with experience to chime in here! :<)

I’ve had my Peak for a little over a month and really love it, it’s completely replaced my torch and rig. The red setting gives me great flavor and big hits with medium to large sized dabs with the stock ceramic cup. I was happy with performance but decided to try a new spacewalk glass cap and Eternal Quartz concave cup.

The spacewalk cap works great, the downstem really moves the oil around on the nail/cup and makes bigger hits and more flavor. I got the joystick cap so it is a little top-heavy and has fallen off once or twice when jostled but no big deal, I think it’s worth it for the improvement provided.

I’ve not had good luck with the Eternal Quartz concave bottom cup however. I’ve tried multiple heat settings and different dab drop timings, cold loading, etc.. and I can’t get it hot enough to produce vapor, even on the highest setting. I’ve seen some people on Instagram using the same cup and having great results so I’m not sure what my problem is or maybe I just got a defective one that was too thick?
For a $60 quartz bucket, I’m pretty disappointed.

So I have had my peak since February. I love this thing and use it daily. Keep it clean and well taken care of. Last night I got the rainbow lights of death. I have no idea what caused it. Anyone have any ideas?

I have been looking for a cordless "e-nail" setup for years. An e-nail just doesn't work for me. It's shocking to me that no one has nailed (lol) the cordless e-nail yet.

I got 3 enails in my living room right now lol. I'm thinking of selling some gear and jumping on a Peak, noticed you can find them for around $300 online. I'm pretty curious about this one but the fact that its ultimately semi portable at best makes me feel like it's really gotta be a solid unit around the house to justify the price.
What kind of battery life are folks getting months later? I don't really do big dabs but I do dab pretty often which is probably gonna hit the battery the hardest. Kind of concerned about that, but open minded.

My biggest concern with the Peak is that since it's basically wax pen tech in a bigger package, it won't really provide a better experience than a good crucible wax pen +bubbler. For 300+ I'd like to find something that delivers e-nail (or even NEAR e-nail) level performance in a cordless package.

I think most who have actually tried it disagree with you. Plenty of experienced dabbers both here and on IG that find the Peak to be a high quality device

You misunderstand. I know there are lots of fans. I simply fear that the Peak won't perform much better than a wax pen + a bubbler. Maybe it does perform much better. But the Peak's tech is exactly the same as a Wax Pen with a crucible insert paired with a bubbler. It's just bigger.

Do you find that the Peak delivers e-nail or even near e-nail level performance?

Is it the same as my full torch setup, no? But my banger alone is near the price of this whole system so it’s not really a fair comparison.

The Peak is tiny. I’m not sure people realize how small it is. It’s literally perfect for on the go or for when I am too busy or tired to deal with my full rig. It provides good flavor and big hits, just a bit hot vapor for me. While it is not equal to, it is much closer than I expected. And once I finish upgrading it we will see

What do you think is lacking in the peak that a torched setup does better? Can't you do the same cool down style hits on it or no?

The small size is really appealing to me, my daily driver rig is about the size of the Puffco glass piece and I love the flavor from rigs that size so I'm thinking I might like the Peak.

What are you upgrading on yours?

I REALLY enjoyed using the Peak. I've been skeptical of it since it came out and I saw the price. I kinda wrote it off as just a toy for the silicon bro types/apple ppl. It's actually a wonderful device.

There is no clean mode needed and the atomizers don't generate a weird smell like the Switch. The vapor production was really solid too. Massive clouds basically.

I think different attachments would offer different experiences too. A larger can could probably give more of a dab hit like experience people crave. I still think it gives a rather large hit though. It just felt like the standard attachment couldn't keep up at times (or maybe it was my lungs LOL).

Having learned that Puffco will be sticking to this joint size for the Peak 2, 3...they now have my full attention. I can see why the industry has embraced this unit so quick.

I don't ever see the industry taking that other device serious enough to make 3rd party parts for it.

The Peak is what you want.

I look forward to the Peak 2 with a better battery and an atomizer system that is less prone to breakage.

:D

You said it, I still really want a peak, but got over my initial urges to get it after reading a lot about the atomizer breakage and faulty units. I think waiting for the peak 2 is going to be the way to go.

What a journey of a read!

I was only a few pages in when I realized the VAS was kicking in strong. As I read all I could hope was that by the time I caught up on the thread, the little hiccups had been worked thru...... doesn't seem to be the case.....yet.

I'm still learning about dabbing in general, I have a quartz banger, a Pulsar hand enail, Evo, and a host of vapes that can run concentrates. Busted my Evo nail (more on order), Pulsar heating element died, banger is small and hit or miss, this looked perfect.

After dealing with the Pulsar and it's own finicky issues, this is still too expensive for these issues, at least IMO.

I guess the truth is, it's the inconsistent CS still holding me back. I've got my GH's and Hopper Labs already to deal with in that manner. Pushing $400 for something that many are still accessorizing is too much to then hear some don't hear back for a week when it's down.

Puffco, get it together and I'm on board!

I'm also waiting to see how the XVape Vista Mini turns out. Looks like the first Peak "knockoff". Doesn't look quite as cool as the Peak, but is a third of the price. And I wouldn't say XVape is a less reputable company than Puffco.

Had my buddy make me a peak top. Such a better experience. Its pretty much the same size as the original. dunno if im just excited but i feel like vapor production has improved with the new top and you can actually hit it like a rig and produce clouds instead of taking smaller successive puffs. If anyone needs a replacement attachment ill be putting up the one that came with my peak for sale in the classifieds for $80. If you want to get one of these hit me up for info

I reached out to Puffco yesterday morning about a few things, got a response in about 4 hours, that's a positive sign. I also saw a phone number to contact them, I thought this was the thread mentioning the lack of a number?

Anywho, here's part of their response, eBay units are covered.

"Thanks for reaching out to us and for your interest in Puffco products! Your Puffco products are covered under our one-year manufacturers' warranty, regardless of where the unit was purchased.

As for the atomizer issues, we have found what causes certain issues and are constantly making improvements to our products to make them more resilient. I would expect the lifespan to be similar to that of the atomizers of our pens as long as they're properly maintained.

If you're looking for a number when referring to the lifespan of the Peak atomizer, I would say you can expect that atomizer to last 1-3 months with regular daily use and proper maintenance."

1-3 months lifespan on a $40 part is high for maintenance IMO......
