Puffco Peak

I still love my peak. Just need to know where it fits into the lineup. It's not quite a banger dab, more convenient than an email, better than a pen, but still a portable that can leave you underwhelmed sometimes. Always gets me Baked, just not for cloud chasing.

Just a heads up the quartz dhgate inserts suck imo. They are not properly sized , slip around when in and do not heat as well as the ceramic. Do they work ? - Yes , Do they work well ? - No

I amul using an eternal quartz insert, but just saw he made some new thinner version for large clouds. May have to get a new one.

Yeah but those eternal quartz buckets cost what $40-50 /pc ? To much imo for such a tiny bucket. I can afford it but its the principal. I feel the Peak is priced to high also but got a bit off after a coupon and still felt guilty spending so much. Good thing is I like it & its been hard to power on my Enail's bc the Peak makes it so easy.

I ordered the thicker bottom because it said it’s for small to medium sized dabs. I typically am on the small side...but should I have gone with the thinner one?

Just hit my peak for the first time...I have to say I was super impressed! It had a huge cloud on medium and was quite tasty.

I will say that my dish is very brown. It was a small hit and I know I cleared it. Is this common that it darkens after 1st use?

I didn't order mine direct from eternal so I have no idea. I may even have the thin one for all I know.

Did you qtip it out? Ceramic will get brown eventually anyway, but still qtip and you can ISO soak it also...its ceramic.

Thanks, man. You try a Peak yet? Only used it for tonight but initial impressions are really positive

I did have use of one for a couple of days. Worked surprisingly well. I have no experience with atomizer failures or its reliability/maintainability in general, but it functioned very nicely the few times I got to try it.

I'm a full up enail guy so not a device for me, but perhaps this is a great answer for those who think a standard dab rig is a bit crack pipe looking and want something a bit more integrated and sleek.

I have had a peak since release and use it daily. I am on my second atomizer (hundreds of dabs through it) and my second battery, the first one quit working. But none of that has mattered because Puffco has been amazing about replacing things that break.
I am concerned that my base will go out again after the warranty is up, I will be SOL then I guess?

Atomizers I am less concerned with, I have learned how to take care of the atomizers so they last a while. I do think they are charging WAY TOO MUCH for a super simple ceramic atomizer, so I have already played around with rebuilding them and we can all make our own very easily out of a DT V3.0 10mm and 13mm donuts. Both work in my dead one when I was playing around. I have a 13mm in here and it runs a little hotter than stock, good for quartz inserts. I don't actually use the rebuilt atty, I have a real one. But once the warranty is out and I am buying my parts instead... I will be freestyling this device I think. I bet we can order the solid plate heaters with te same specs as the original in bulk too. I was just playing around to see how easy it is... it's easy lol.

Crystal Star has opaque inserts back in stock. I just grabbed one! And unlike Eternal (wating close to a week now on my peak insert shipping notice) it shipped same day.

Also have a KXB cap due in the next few days
https://www.kxbglass.com/products/fumeicello-disk-cap-for-puffco-peak

Likely will upgrade my glass shortly as well. Really loving the 3rd party community that has developed around this device

Amazing Eternal still can't get their shipping and customer service in line. They really just need to hire someone whose sole responsibility is customer service and shipping

I think i sold @Danksta on a peak today while i was over his house.

Peak > switch in my opinion...

Cant wait for a peak 2....

I REALLY enjoyed using the Peak. I've been skeptical of it since it came out and I saw the price. I kinda wrote it off as just a toy for the silicon bro types/apple ppl. It's actually a wonderful device.

There is no clean mode needed and the atomizers don't generate a weird smell like the Switch. The vapor production was really solid too. Massive clouds basically.

I think different attachments would offer different experiences too. A larger can could probably give more of a dab hit like experience people crave. I still think it gives a rather large hit though. It just felt like the standard attachment couldn't keep up at times (or maybe it was my lungs LOL).

Having learned that Puffco will be sticking to this joint size for the Peak 2, 3...they now have my full attention. I can see why the industry has embraced this unit so quick.

I don't ever see the industry taking that other device serious enough to make 3rd party parts for it.

The Peak is what you want.

I look forward to the Peak 2 with a better battery and an atomizer system that is less prone to breakage.

:D

That's exactly what I'm waiting for. This unit seems like the perfect travel companion!

I could get by with the current if needed. It's the fact that you have to train your friends to prevent breakage that annoys me. I would not feel comfortable passing this in a circle of n00bs. So if they fix that issue with the Peak 2 or if they just revise the current we should be good.

I love how it fits/feels in the hand. Fits like a glove and has a nice weight to it.

It's going to be hard to wait for the Peak 2 TBH. I really want this device now.

Been using mine for some time now & really like it as well man. I had to ditch the stock glass asap and went with a drop larger can custom and its been working great. So have they announced that a Peak 2 will be coming ? I know they plan on making different color models or maybe even have already but I have yet to hear about new models coming so please lmk if you have. Ty

Just speculating at this point. It seems like at least a revision should be put out. Even with the current known issues I'm tempted to grab one.

How much did the can setup if you back? It looks like the 3rd party glass fetches insane pricing.

Eternal is selling $80+ inserts for the peak. C'mon now guys. They charged me $55 for my 30mm insert.

Regardless, this tells me the Peak is here to stay and we all need one LOL :D

@Danksta totally agree with your assessment. Most people writing off this device haven’t actually tried it....

Attachment upgrades are key. The stock one is really finky to me. It’s easy too much water and I get splashed or it’s too little and it’s a hot hit. Way too fine a line. I have seen attachments range from like $250 to $4k. It’s all over the place. I’m happy to give some recommendations if you want?

Quartz inserts range too. I think the pukin beagles are $30. I currently have an opaque quartz insert from Crystal Star that I really like. Nice flavor improvement over the stock ceramic.

I agree the Peak is here to stay. The 3rd party community is huge already. I would also suggest an upgraded cap, the stock one falls out way too easily. The new cap holder should be standard and not an add on.

Really glad you kept an open mind and gave it a shot

I think overtime it will get even more popular. The more people who have them share and get the word out the better. I admit I had kinda written these device off and thought the massive reception on IG by 3rd party folks was all arranged. Like Puffco had finally pulled one on everyone...

...well they didn't. They truly like they said put a ton of R&D into this device and it shows.

What good 3rd party attachments have you found for $250?

Go to kxbglass on instagram , tell him my name and he will work you up something sweet for $200-$250. He makes the glass thick and will give you more than your money’s worth. I have been really happy using mine over the stock glass . I also got a matching bubble cap .
