I think we need to revisit glass. I know most use something fairly generic. Has anyone tried roosted glass fritted disc? If anyone has tried the newvape with a fritted disc let me know. Also... If anyone has some disposable income I highly recommend they try one out for us hahaha;);):rockon:

Ok, this worked

Thank you, Sensei.

If you bought the carb cap, using it with flower at a lower temp with a slower draw is another option to get thicker vapor faster, especially if you use glass with less volume*, but for fast full extraction you’re probably doing it the best way now. :)

* Just be careful not to use something too small/unstable or you may tip it over and break it if you’re not holding it the whole time.

Seconding the slightly lower temp and carb cap use with flower giving full one hit extraction results.

The beauty of the FP is its many operating variables, so its all about whatever works for you and gives you the results you're after tho init, and it sounds like you got there already :)

I have a Dave Goldstein fritted disc Rosster apparatus. I love it! I’ve had it for a few years now. Used to be my daily combustion bong. Now I use it with the flowerpot here and there. It has such amazing diffusion and cooling. One of the best I’ve ever used imo. One downside to the fritted disc design is that the holes that the smoke filters through are so fine and it cools the vapor so well that it will slowly clog up with reclaim. Which then requires a quick cleaning to restore full function. Some people don’t like them for this reason.
They also produce a more economical version that will be all clear glass and no color logo for around half what the rooster apparatus sells for. Those are on https://davegglass.com/
I think I have some videos of me using the flowerpot on my rooster. I’ll have to have a look see.

For those looking to take their Flowerpot dabs to the next level, consider adding some ruby or sapphire spheres to the dish. Major improvement that allows for more complete vaporization at lower temps.

I've been using 5mm spheres with great success in both the 25mm and 28mm NV SiC dishes. The spheres definitely move around the dish using the Vrod carb cap.

More info about the spheres can be found here:

Success! Thanks for looking into this for us, I asked about these beads like 4 times in this thread and was just told it probably wouldn’t work. I’ll definitely be getting some of those!

That only regarded to 6mm beads combined with the D-nail SiC dish and the old one from NV.

This glass bowl needs some sort of glass honeycomb/knot style type insert for convection dabs :)

Im up at 800f attempting convection dabs with the glass bowl :D

Also feelin' the need to try a glass bowl....

Hard to get here in Europe, any DHGate recommendation?

Stevenlmz is dhgate and mention elsewhere in this thread. I wasnt into his bowls tho. The ones NV do are available on ebay IIRC.

I like the NV ones, I ordered from NV tho, not the ebay seller.

@WelshBrok It all adds to the hive mind! Thanks for asking for info on this and highlighting it on this particular page, I missed the post you're quoting and I wanna try the spheres with my SiC dish. I'd be tempted to add some of those to the bowl for convection dab experiments too :)

Finally hooked up my entire setup as the new piece with the SIC dish arrived.

I can’t believe the efficiency of this vaporizer. I used less than a loading tool full and wow did it work.

Hey guys!

I already own this for the FP SH:

https://www.newvape.com/18mm-female-rig-large-base

Which is the difference with this one?

https://www.newvape.com/12-5-stereo-matrix-rig

Is worth to buy it having the other version?

I own both of these. The one you have will not accommodate an ash catcher and it is very free flowing. It is also very difficult to gauge how much vapor you've received. It's real easy to over do it. The Stereo Matrix has more of a 'glug' to the draw especially with the Gravity Labs ash catcher I have on it. For me it takes less practice to hit the Stereo Matrix as it's a larger can. If I milk out the can, I remove the heat, wait and exhale, then I clear the can.. perfect every time. Respect! -YaMon

Would you be able to link to your ash catcher/one like it? I got the stereo matrix and love it, but an ash catcher would help with keeping it cleaner (even when using the glass bowl with built-in screen). And if it adds to the 'glug' of the matrix that would be awesome! Thanks man

Would it be hard to have a drop down menu for each pin then have it generate the compatible coil? Or have us agree to terms that when we buy a coil we have to make sure the pin out is compatible and you are not responsible if the enail or coil gets damaged?

For example

Pin 1 then you have these as choices to pick and so on for the other 4 pins.

AC Power to Heater
TC +
TC-
Ground

here's an update on the xlr coils.

Although that’s not what a lot of people wanted to hear, and personally I’d probably offer at least a D-Nail pinout coil and/or adapter in addition to the NewVape coils, but I understand your worries and can accept it if you want to stick to the two VRod heads to fit at least more coils and avoid the headaches.

I would like to propose an alternative for the people who still need an adapter though.

Once you’re sold out of adapters, if you talked to @JCat or another forum member who’s willing to solder the correct pinouts they could help some of people here who don’t have compatible coils and would prefer to buy one of your coils for the best fit without switching controllers.

Maybe you could hook them up with either a supplier with the parts needed to build an adapter compatible with your coils (I think the connector you have on your extension cables was the only thing JCat couldn’t source), or pre-made cables that can be re-soldered?

That should insulate you from responsibility for the adapters but still help out the people who make it here looking for that kind of solution.

There are a number of people here who make accessories for various vaporizers to fulfill the desires of other members when the device’s creators don’t want to deal with a specific accessory or when people just want want to experiment with something different.

I feel like that all could have been more concise, but I hope it makes sense. Whatever you decide the best options are, thanks for trying to help increase VRod coil compatibility. We need to get FlowerPots into the hands of a lot more people! :science::rockon:

I have a 20mm coil that fits the standard vrod head that I ordered Wednesday night, but it’s not 17mm tall, it’s actually shorter and is only 10mm tall. Will this make a difference in efficiency? Will I just have to let it heat soak longer? I was planning on buying one of those coils as soon as they were available so I hope my coil will suffice, I don’t know how to solder at all.

So, we have made a reversed version of the Vrod head to accommodate counter-clockwise wrapping coils. All other coil dimensions remain the same (20mm, etc)

Hope y'all are having a great day

Great news indeed. Looks like this will work great with the High5 coil.

I'll be joining the VROD conversation soon... :D
