In three years I've only replaced one oring on a ti tip. It broke and that was directly due to my mishandling.
I don't remove my orings to clean my tips anymore, or from the Omni condenser for that matter so I imagine that it will be a long long time before I need to replace another oring.

A bulk buy of 100 orings will likely last you a lifetime. Then all you need worry about is keeping fire close by. And of course keeping a garden growing...
I myself have a 12 pack of large colibri butane cans and lots of dehydrated/cured herbs and veggies squirreled away in the basement. It helps me sleep soundly at night.

I finally got back to my lathe this week to produce some more stems and bodies. I started out with some solid wood pieces and will be moving on to some fancier laminated work soon. It's been a while since I posted any work in this thread and felt it was time.

That’s a great point, where is a good place to buy bulk butane (that doesn’t kill lighters) to keep our vapcaps hot and happy?

Mano-a-Mano. In the interest of having a gas heat source, I would use propane for endgame scenarios.
Producing similar temperatures, propane can be stored in bulk, down to -45ºC, outside.
An almost endless source, compared to teeny bottles of butane.
When exhausted, one can always pull out the trusty fire piston, and revert to the man cave. Vapcaps

I don't stock water and canned goods, just vapcaps and herb. I am admittedly relying on a barter system that I can apply to the fools hoarding water and canned goods when the apocalypse unfolds.
I think I have the best plan.

A couple of notes on Induction Heaters:
1. Last I heard Dynavap was looking at maybe October or so for release, but this is a big project and I wouldn’t be surprised if the date slipped.
We could be lucky and get it early if George was padding the date to avoid disappointing people if it takes longer than expected to produce them, but personally I’d look at the release date as “probably this year”.
2. It’s not likely that they’re producing these entirely in-house, so if they’ve got a factory making the shells (or possibly completely building them), they could have to wait several months for production even after they’ve settled on a design, tested it, etc.
Especially since they’re a small company making relatively small quantities of their products, they’re not likely to get anyone else to produce something like the prototype they showed quickly.
For example, NewVape just had new SiC dishes produced for them. I think they were made by the same people they were getting the smaller dishes from, but just to get a mold and a batch of 28mm dishes made, it took I believe they said 4 months!
3. If you’re holding off on getting an induction heater, you should ask yourself why.
If you want cheap and you’re considering the Chinese dental tool stuff that’s been posted recently but you’re hoping for a better deal, I don’t think it’s worth waiting because the Dynavap IH is almost certainly going to be more expensive.
If you want a quality portable IH and you want it soon, Pipes seems to be the guy to talk to unless you want to build your own. No his is not the cheapest option, but I would be surprised if the Dynavap IH wasn’t at *least* about the same price, and even with the wait you’re almost certain to get one from him faster than you’d get one from Dynavap at this point.
However, if you want an official Dynavap product, you want to support the company, and/or you like the cup-style design they seem to be going with, it’s probably worth waiting a few months or buying another option now and passing it on to someone else when the Dynavap version is released.
I hope that helps those of you wondering what to do about an IH. I don’t have any inside sources, but I think that’s a fairly accurate assessment of the current situation based on publicly available information.

I own several of Pipes IH devices and will probably still buy the Dynavap version when it comes out, suits my needs and has the right price. One cannot have too many Induction Heaters. There is always a place in your house or car for another one. Trust me. But I still also love my Vapcap with a jet lighter. Just saying.

Looks like the LE 7fin special order from earlier this year that disappointed so many because they continued helix grooves all the way down the fins and kinda ruined the cool look of the OG 7 fin.Could just be missing an oring like this LE tip...

So, i received the Dynavap with the glass body today.
So much improvement has been made since this first unit!
I can only get 2 sessions out of the vapcap (maybe due to my M18 heating technique?), the 3rd one is always too dark and tastes awful.
The time between 2 heat sessions is longer on the vapcap, the M18 is faster to cool down, better tasting for 3rd and sometimes 4th session.
Happy to have tested it, but i must admit it will be my second thought Dynavap as i love the M18.
(until i buy the Omni XL but not before black friday as i have other things to test/spend my money on meanwhile
)
edit: definitely due to my M18 heating technique, once i heat the Vapcap from farther away (the M18 i heat with the outer blue flame, with the Vapcap i have to go 0.5cm out of the blue flame, maybe the glass is more sensitive than stainless steel?) i get 3 sessions with normal taste.

Miserly math shows what the VC has done for me
It has been 20 weeks since I received my first product and I came out of retirement after enough years that I cannot remember. As a lightweight user before and now, I have been amazed at my "gas mileage" with the vapcap I started consuming the herb that I had purchased once I got the vapcap 15 weeks ago and have used it almost exclusively since then. The edible chocolate sits in the fridge unused since I got the vapcap and the wonderful hash (I used to be a hash feind) sits barely touched, basically unused since the VC arrived. I pulled out my tiny digital scale that I used for balsa selection when assembling micro - indoor RC aircraft and weighed the four 3.5 gram herb packages that I have ordered in that time. After weighing an emptied package and deducting the weight of the four of them, my remaining stock of the 14 grams purchased is still 8.5 grams!
So I can easily say that I fave been quite high almost every evening and some full days on my weekend (and then there was the camping vacation, LOL) - more than 5 days a week, so I will assume this. Five evenings x 15 weeks = 75 sessions. I have only consumed 5,5 grams during that time, so my consumption rate is 5.5g/75 sessions = .07 grams per day average. At about $8CAD per gram, it has cost me 58 cents per day! A week for the cost of one beer
So most days I would guess that I use under .05 g, which fits others' estimate of the amount of herb that fits the smallest Ti tip setting. I rarely start a second bowl. In fact I have used the same bowl to do a second, lighter evening the odd time.
Conclusion: I can afford to buy another VC without guilt

Goes to show ya how aesthetics are individualized. I happen to think the cam like cuts make this tip the prettiest ever created by DV. My only problem with it is it tends to make my caps hard to remove.
