Hm I had no luck when I tested those notch coils back then in the BULLI thread... still have a pack laying around unused.

Maybe I should give them a second chance...

Look's like it's getting a lot break in. :)
Did you do any adjustments on yours? Mine where a tad unleveled. I think might have bumped coils pulling it off the deck. Easy fix but but worth a check if getting any hot spots.
I checked mine before first use and the coils were like you see in the pix, no alignment needed.

What materials are suitable for user made coils? At some point I'd like to make my own.

Has anyone attempted/used before the stempod combined with an 18mm cooling stem of some kind? Since vaporizing is all I plan on doing now, I don’t have much need for a bong necessarily, but it might be cheaper still than the options I’ve seen. Does anyone have any recommendations on stems/other ways to cool the vapor? The cheapest I could find so far was still $60 (vape xhale lynx).

Various grades of stainless steel work well, nickel and titanium also. Check the BULLI and Project threads in the DIY subforum for inspiration!
Thank you, I'll check those out. I've been looking around for other coil making resources and found the following:
steam-engine.org - Ohm's Law Calculator and Coil Wrapping Calculator
Coil Building subforum at Vaping Underground

I'm very much a noobie when it comes to TC 510 Box Mods, but I love the idea of the Stem Pod. I've sent this question in to the Modpod folks through their site, but can anyone here recommend a 510 box mod that would be suitable for the Stem Pod-I don't even know the right terminology to Google.

Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers

Look at the tubo website. They have a list of box mods compatible with Funkyjunkie fw. This is a good start. You download to your mod and there is a lot great options to choose from. I picked up a few mods to see which works best with stamped. The great thing is they're not that expensive.

Here's a couple good links for mods

Just picked this up for my trip. Haven't used long enough to really comment. Right off the bat I do like how it fire's. Instead of button you squeeze it to fire.

Going drop Arctic Fox on it see how ell it does. Smaller than expected.

What stem is that?

Just a small glass stem with rubber cover. The silver ring just something that had laying around.
Here's it without the ring attached. The other piece I use to cap the stem.

Stempod running good on new mod. Still messing with AF on TC adjustment but happy with the mod. Well other than the screen. It's crooked on it so might need to contact seller.

Really liking the fire method on this mod. It's the side screen panel you squeeze on it to fire. Makes palming it easier since don't need press a button.

Dan published an IG stream 2 hours ago. He shows off a prototype of a 18mm male to 14mm female stem adapter. At the end of the stream he discusses his plans for the SP, coils, gaskets & a whole bunch of interesting in the know stuff. Check it out if you get the chance.

Thats the mod that Dan suggested I get for the Stempod. I also have the evic vtc dual for more power and just received the Steam Engine from Vapeman which is a DNA 75. I ordered on Thursday evening and it arrived in Socal delivered in the am this morning all the way from china. Thanks to who ever posted that link. The mod was about $33 with expedited dhl shipping and fees it came to about $53.

Really wish there was an alternate way to get this kind of information. I deleted my IG account a bit ago and am not interested in creating a new one just to view stories.

That's a good looking rig, please let us know what kind of battery life you get. My SP on the Battlestar Mini with a newish Samsung 25R gets me three long sessions, can't get through a fourth.

Yes, x100.

Stainless steel is your best bet atm. Look into getting a coil master kit if you do get into making your own.
Thanks. I've read that for a mod's TC mode to work well it needs a wire with a higher TCR value, SS is preferred over Kanthal for example. Here's a list of TCR values for different metals with several types of SS. Are they all suitable for our use, generally speaking?

What's about a short summary, my dear? ;)

Sorry I'm getting tired - and dont have the time - of watching all vids by manufacturers just to get a few important infos they should post here or better on their site with ease. Nothing against Dan, it's ok. That regards especially to Ryan. I'm really not interested in doing timewasting investigations over hours and hours just to get some important infos on a product. It's sometimes like looking for a needle in a haystack. I've still a life - and job - besides all that stuff and vaping is my hobby not reading and watching about as a fulltime job. I'm already spending too much time on FC only.
Sorry, if that should sound a bit condescending but meanwhile I'm getting really angry about this bizarre - and really timewasting! - culture of information.

I just went outside to use my stempod, and it wasn’t working for some reason.. upon further inspection, one of the coils appears to have crumbled in the middle, prohibiting either cool to function. I’m honestly super surprised that the device is already broken within only 4 uses. I was hoping to test it more next week, but I guess that’ll now depend on when I can get new coils shipped..

In order to simply reinstall new coils from @supershredderdan ‘s site, do I need any special tools aside from tweezers/an Alan wrench? I’m hoping to not spend too much more money for a little while.

So it could make sense to order also some coils as replacement especially as an international customer?
Dan, do you offer them and how much are they?

I would think a coil would longer than 4 uses. :(
Did you contact Dan? It's so new he should just replace it.
I am hoping it's was just a bad coil. Coils should last a long time. I thinking it was defective.

Hopefully this is a item that either fails right off the bat (defective) than one that wears out quickly.

$12.20 for me with shipping.

This is a good reason why Dan should include an extra set of coils.
There inexpensive wouldn't add any real extra cost on Dan. Would save the customer some disappointment.
It also be crazy if he charges that much for shipping just the coils.
It shouldn't be more than a buck if only coils.
I can see that much if you wanted priority shipping.
