Anyone ever seen the Vapor Inhaler

Their website is http://www.thevaporinhaler.com/ (it's a flash based monstrosity, look out)

Has anyone ever seen / used this model? It looks like it's basically a compressor that compresses vapor into a glass jar. Not really sure what the best applications would be. Wouldn't the vapor still break down? And why would you need that much? In any event, it's piqued our curiosity.

Peace,

You weren't lying about the flash monstrosity.....

I admit, though that I'm a little curious about this thingie.....

Yeah, we might have to get one. They have a weird affiliate setup too which is kind of a red flag, but so curious.

I'm curious as to why they don't have a pic, a video or an indication of how long the vapor stays viable. They also claim it can hold the vapor of a half ounce of bud, and then they say it gives you 30+ draws. I can get more than 30+ draws out of a gram using my MZ(probably closer to 100+), so should we assume these draws are massively potent?

If this thing is legit, it will rule.

I've actually thought about a design like this before and I'm amazed to see it be made! I think carrying around an inhaler filled with a whole bunch of hits would be awesome for a convenient and easy consumption method. It's the ultimate in stealth too because it looks like a standard asthmatic inhaler.
Some questions I wonder about:
How long does a canister of vapor stay fresh? Does being under higher pressure mean that it won't condense onto the inner walls of the glass vapor container?

"NORMAL COMPLETE FILL IS APPROXIMATELY OUNCE OF VAPORIZED HERB, GIVING YOU 30+ DRAWS. (NOTE: PSI CAN BE + OR - DEPENDING ON ELEVATION, TEMPERATURE, AND YOUR OPERATION OF OUR SYSTEM). AMOUNT OF VAPOR INHALED AS PER DRAW IS DETERMINED BY THE LUNG CAPACITY OF THE END USER."

A 1/2 oz worth of compressed vapor can fit in the container? That would be hundreds of hits on a regular vaporizer in my experience, not "30+ draws".

Also, imagine the possibilities for the future with this type of delivery system. Dispensaries could sell inhalers and canisters of compressed vapor from various strains, strain combinations, or hash concentrates (OMG!).

Two very good questions. I will pose them to the manufacturer before I get one. Unless compressing the vapor extends it life (which I don't see how it would) the vapor would go stale in under 30 min. That's a lot of vapor to take down in 30 min.

So I guess the question becomes: Is this legit? Can vapor actually be compressed and remain "viable" for long periods of time?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

So PV = nRT
Pressure * Volume = moles * R-constant * Temperature

The volume, moles, and R-Constant all stay the same. Therefore, the equation looks like this.

P = T

In other words, P and T have a linear relationship. As P goes up, T goes up and vice versa. Condensation typically occurs when the vapor temperature cools to the same or lower temperature than the surface of the bag it is in.

So if vapor is compressed, the temperature goes up and what you have is a canister of vapor that will stay hot for a series of time.

This is all just theory and me throwing out basic chemistry, so maybe someone with more knowledge than me will be able to disprove or shed light on my theory/the workings of this vapor inhaler...

What would happen to the vapor if the canister was cooled? Would it condense? Maybe the canister is specially designed to prevent the inside from changing temperature?

I found this on the guestbook section of the website on the bottom right of the screen(damn flash) :
"I just can't say enough about my inhaler. I load it once a month. My herb stays fresh & tasty. I can use it everywhere I want. I can put it in my pocket & go. So simple & clean. No one has ever looked twice while I was inhaling. This is fantastic, just fantastic!!"

If what he says is true and it really works as it sounds in theory, THATS AMAZING! I would love to have this vape, although its very expensive at 500 bucks. Maybe it will be cheaper from vape retailers? I would like to see another company make a cheaper model...

Very cool idea, if it works. That looks like an ordinary aquarium 4 port diaphragm pump, which means your vapor will be traveling from your bag through all the components inside the pump and then into the glass storage bottle. What kind of toxin laden parts are in that pump... epoxies, plastics, solder etc.

I am not sure how they plan to prevent resin build up inside the pump guts, no real way to clean that so it will probably start to smell like shit in short order. I hope I am wrong because this would be a real step forward for on the go inconspicuous vaping.

I don't know...this thing is not even a vaporizer. It's a vapor compressor. So you must already own a bag vape to use this machine. That plus the huge price tag, plus the "30 draws from 1/2 oz" nonsense, plus the ridiculous website, plus the one shitty fucking picture they have of this thing, makes me smell bullshit. I am not denying it would be awesome to have an inhaler full of vapor, however.

Well the site is waaaay overdone, no info or anything, whern you actually try to check info out the site is horribly designed, the price is redic also. 400$? No thanks I'm good with what I have for now, unless this is oging to be HUUUGE, but I doubt it.

Would somebody politely call them (VapeNow's Nate perhaps?) and point them to this thread.

The idea seems plausible and promising, but there are sooo many questions.

I'll put in my 2 cents; you can pump bags full of vapor into a confined enclosure, and unless you have a lab grade enclosure *and* pump you're wasting your weed/herb/whatever.

Until the manufacturer demonstrates that they can sequester vapor in a container, without the vapor condensing I don't see this working.

i spent a few years as a refrigeration/AC tech and i feel that gives me a fair knowledge of the pressures involved here. The idea seems possible to me, perhaps with a propellant involved with the inhaler, but that picture looks like a joke.

digglover, I'm no scientist, and I agree that more pressure creates higher temps, but I think that the point of keeping it pressurized is that the pressure makes up for the lower temperature. Vapor condenses as it cools, or loses temperature. If you take that same vapor and allow it to cool under more pressure, I think it will not condense, assuming all the math is done right.

[I'm not a scientist, but have watched them on TV.]

stickstones,
Not to be ugly, but ...

Yeah, I can get a fuck of a lot more than "30+" hits from half an OZ.

Who cares if it is real or not, it's not providing anything that ANYBODY I know would actually want, if it comes at the expense of all efficiency. For christ's sake, I can get more hits from that amount, sauteeing it on my stove! Even if herb were free and I could afford to use that much for that little benefit, I sure as shit wouldn't pay $500 for the privilege of wasting my stash like that.

Next, check out those high pressure couplings.

PS. some of you around here use Butane canisters to re-fill your Iolite. Is that can hot? No. Is the can cold? No. And what happens when compressed gas (air) goes from high pressure to lower pressure. Anybody want frozen lips? Ever use a whippit?
