What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

Can someone recommend an 18650 for a mod I have coming? Specs from manufacturer:

Battery using: high-rate 18650 cell (continues discharge current
Cuboid200_t2.png
25A)
Max charging current: 2.0A
Max output current: 25A

Have had the "brown LG's" before but they state 20A max output?

But it's not the mod that dictates the required current capacity, it's the attachment. The mod only has a maximum current it can safely output, and the maximum input current depends on that value (via the conversion efficiency factor most notably)

Select an atty, know its resistance, only then can you know how many amps your cell needs to be rated for.

The HG2 is okay for most of our applications if you stay under 50W. It can do short bursts of 70W, say if running in TC mode but that's not really recommended and will lower its service life. It's a good cell, but I prefer the Samsung 30Q.

If you really need 25A then check the ubiquitous Samsung 25R, it's a wonderful cell. The LG equivalent is the HE2 and HE4 (not much difference, HE4 is nice) And if you want more oomph but for a higher price, there's the Sony VTC5 and VTC5-A, the latter being harder to source but even better than the rest.

If you need more than 30A, there's only the LG HB6 that I would recommend. Plus another I forgot, but I'm unsure...

imrbatteries.com & illumn.com are 2 of the most highly recommended batt sites on the Pipes Induction thread. I went with illumn, but most go with imr.

That's who I ended up using for the HG2 for the wismec reuleaux dna250. The sony's i have must be tad wider and battery door wasn't flush perfect with the HG2. Other than that liking the mod. The escribe software great if you like to play with settings. For a dna250 under $80.00 seems good value. Time will tell on build quality.

Hey Folks. I ran across this deal for the Lost Vape Paranormal DNA250C for $99.99 when using the code LV50. I won't post a link to the discount code but it's from the website vape.deals. I tried the code in my shopping cart and it works, I didn't actually buy the mod though. The code expires today at 5PM EST.

Edited to add: Goddammit, MAS (Mod Acquisition Syndrome) strikes. I'm very happy with the performance of my current mods but I need to see what all the hoopla is about with the DNA chips. I didn't like the idea of the removable side panels on the Lost Vape Paranormal but I discovered that the Passion Scarlet Resin, Black Rhombus, and Chopped Carbon side panels aren't removable so I ordered the Gunmetal/Black Rhombus/Black Grey Kevlar model.

Looks like a sweet deal. It's a 250c too looks like there doing free shipping on it.

Don't think can go wrong with a lost vapes they seem to get good reviews. Holding off till I get my iheat for another mod.

Want a side by side for it just not much choice. Kerozen said the Movkin Disguiser fits. Found them really cheap so might pick one up for iheat.

So I should have both my Splinter and my RX 2/3 by Friday, so I am wondering if I should try the default software for a while before trying Arctic Fox or if I should go directly to AF and not bother learning anything about the default software.
While I may well get an atomizer at some point and try using the mod as an ecig, this is really only about vaping herb and that may all be a waste of time...

You could also try the tubo evic software. Seems a lot folks love the cruise control setting in it.

I pretty much ignored the default firmware and set up the FJ firmware on my RX 2/3 (and Splinter) but found it singeing my goods even at lower wattages. It may very well have just been an incorrect resistance setting (FJ defaulted around .32 and AF defaulted about .23) but I switched over to the AF firmware and it is behaving more like I would expect it to (kind of like the Zion) in that mode. So, I will use this for a while in wattage mode, at least until I can learn more about TC.

Really debating btw the paranormal and triade dna250c the replay feature and color screen option is tempting me.

Damn now I have MAS on top of my VAS.

Lol, I’m hoping to hear more about the experience with some of these fancier mods. I think my cuboid is more like a go-kart among some of these that I’m hearing about!

What are your thoughts on it’s performance for the value?

Testing is ongoing. :) I just started using the Paranormal, I've been using the Smoant Charon Mini and the Modefined Lyra head to head for about two weeks and they're very nice mods that feel good in hand, both with excellent TC implementations. So the Paranormal is up against some heavy competition.

What TC you got those bad boys set to? I also have Splinter and SP running on some Therions but always interested in seeing what’s workin for others.

Here's what I'm using for the two non-DNA mods. What are you using for Coil Material in your EScribe profiles for the Splinter and StemPod?

RBT Splinter
  • Lyra - TCR=260; 31 watts; 355F
  • Charon Mini - TCR=260; 33 watts; 360F
StemPod - notch coils
  • Lyra - TCR=285; 38 watts; 395F
  • Charon Mini - TCR=285; 38 watts; 420F
StemPod - new clapton coils (still fine tuning)
  • Lyra - TCR=275; 42 watts; 420F
  • Charon Mini - TCR=275; 44 watts; 430F
I'm still working on the settings for the Paranormal. I started with the EScribe file prepared by @HerbieVonVapster which is for a DNA250 device while the Paranormal has the DNA250C chip. Using EScribe I was able to export the profiles for each atty from the DNA250 file and import them into the DNA250C settings.

thank you very much and also...damn you:lol:. I blame this recent lost of control on you, here I am buying up more mods that I can't figure out:nope:, anyway the discount code still alive and kicking

Well shit I hate you both now j/k I sold my pax2 yesterday so guess what I just bought :) Figure it's a USA company selling it for only $99.00. I went with the priority mail came to $107.48. Could of went with free shipping but hate waiting.

This is one of the best deal going thanks Ray_b for pointing it out. Also thanks almost there for letting me know about code still working. Haven't even been able find one this cheap even direct from China. Plus I hate to order from china and waiting weeks hoping it show. Hoping they ship tomorrow or Monday maybe have it by weds. I ended up going with a silver pearl.

Edit changed order to the gunmetal carbon fiber. Think I will like it better than silver.
