So what are we thinking timeline-wise on the stands?
The design is done. It’s a 4 part print and the first is on the printer... it will probably be a week and a half for all of the parts to be printed and for me to process them.

From there, I’ll spend a full day making molds. Then they will need at least 7 days to dry before use.

Then I can start making the ceramic base, I can make roughly 5 per day per mold.

Then they have to dry for a few days. Then it will be about 2-3 days for firing.

Then I’ll need 2 days to epoxy the magnets and for the glue to dry.

Then a day for photos... So probably around the middle of August.

Sub $50. Probably $40 ideally

Initially I was thinking $30-$40. But that was a value driven estimate without calculating the cost of materials or considering labor. And I think that it’s going to be too low.

$50 seems reasonable, but then there’s also the weird aspect that this handmade stand is the same price as 5 launch pads... and they both hold 5 VCs...

I think $25-35 might be a better price point, but maybe I’m cheap? Lol.

I feel like the launchpad and silo have excellent cost to value ratios, and would like to see that continue. I’ve bought now 4 launchpads, because it’s a great product at a great price.

Great products at great prices is what we are all about. It’s something that’s really easy to do with overseas manufacturing... but we actually will have to make these. And it’s a niche item. So there’s a lot more to consider.

But it’s absolutely a fun little experiment. And if it works out, we will totally start offering more specialized handmade gear.

Got my gold SWII. It feels and looks good. It's pretty big, but I have gotten used to the lower profile of the SLX. I have only put a couple grams through it so far but it grinds nicely and I like the grind consistency so far. I like the magnet mounted screen. The friction ring is a little out of round so it sticks out one side a little. Well see if that gets annoying.
I get that the coin is for promoting kief but there is also a squarish thing that I'm not sure about. Is it meant to be a keif scraper? I'll include a pic.

So, the early review is positive, especially at the price I paid. I'll report back further in to using it.

Yep! The metal piece is a stainless steel piece that contours with the bottom chamber.

Also, the first of the 4 pieces has been fully printed. I’ll throw up some pics tomorrow when the second one finishes up printing.

So it unscrews faster, though I don't see the point, you don't open that section very often so I'd prefer it to be more secure. Vape's worth of weed falling out of the main compartment is bad, all your kief falling out is a disaster! :D

I get your point @Skunkport. Not a must have, but a nice to have for me personally.

Sorry I meant upgraded threading like the material cavity portion of this grinder but applied to the kief cavity portion. So one full revolution to open. I love that feature of the SWII and its why it's taken precedence to other grinders in my rotation.

Lol. All good buck. All good.

I could have, skunk, but we still have a decent supply of pink SWIIs in stock that we need to finish selling before we can start producing the SWIII.

@eveyone else, what other ceramic accessories would you like? It makes more sense to make 2-3 at a time rather than only 1.

Missed opportunity, you should have just said 'wish granted, your grinder now has that' and blown his mind when he checked :p
LOLOLOLOL best thing I’ve read all day.

I assume you don’t feel like making any stems? Cause that could be insane with different textures and colors rubbed off of all but the recessed areas and so forth. Hmmm... what else...

I took the eye to that SW II pink .. it hurts that I live so far and the expenses I sent equal the price .. I have time until September to contact with some s friend that fly E.E.U.Uto E.U. of Holiday

I think ... leaving only the necessary parts to crush (3 pieces) would be a good grinder for my trips and days away from home … :brow:

I have never used a grinder in my life until i purchased my lift innovations grinder, but now this grinder has me going nuts!
Big ups to ID, very fine engineering and machining on all of your products, not to mention the stellar customer service
