Cloudy...
Wow so awesome to see units being shipped, hell yeah! Let's see some videos guys, I can't be one of the only ones with a camera phone. Let's see some action!

P.S. I highly recommend a JHook with the Splinter.

As soon as they send the UK ones, I will join with some videos through water!

Really not sure how to post video's here. Going read up on it, but kinda medicated right now.

Plus it looks plain silly sitting on top of my current mod.

I settled on 30watts. Since the dna 40 TC is designed to use nickel 200 alloy doesn't work well with SS and temperature control setting. Best setting I found so far is 30watts and temperature protection set at 200f (lowest setting on device) figuring it's hitting cutoff protection at around 450-460f. Wasn't expecting much use for TC on this mod. Tomorrow I should have the dna 250 to play with.

So far I haven't combusted. I feel I could thou if I pushed up the wattage and turned off temperature protection.

The avb comes out fairly uniform. With higher temps I do notice a slight darker area on just one side of some to the stems loads. Nothing that would require stirring just wasn't a 100% uniform. Going mess with different grinds. It's not effecting its it's performance. It makes some serious cloud's and works great. Just pointing it out.

Last I saw in RBT's instagram was that he was getting the 250 splinters ready for Vapefiend? He was supposed to have shipped them a batch of 100 last week, but don't know if he did or not as he said he was working on their order of 250 the other day. But I'm sure it will be soon Megaton. Just be patient a little longer.

Vape... For your health!
I received my Splinter on Saturday. I used it extensively for remainder of the weekend and even had a chance to let some friends try it out as well. So far I'm really impressed with this vape! There was definitely some funky/nasty flavors going on for the first 2-3 stems but it has since settled out. The Splinter produces some mighty tasty vapor. Definitely on par with the Tubo and Underdog. Very pleased with the fit and finish of the unit. Solid build quality and the wood (I believe it's Walnut) looks great!

I'm using straight wattage mode on the stock firmware with a Wismec RX 2/3 and have settled on anywhere between 30-33 watts for dry rips with the stock stems. I'm creeping up to 34-35 watts when ripping through water as my WPA situates the herb a bit further from the heater compared to the stems. I wanted to find the upper wattage limit with the stock stems and 35 watts yielded some scorching. 30-33 watts and I get a nice, even extraction without stirring. Great vapor production once the herb is heat soaked after a draw or two. I need to update the firmware so I can use the preheat function on my mod and I'm sure that will yield vapor on the first rip from a cold start. I plan to flash the FJ firmware at some point but so far I'm enjoying using wattage mode.

Also, this thing absolutely rips through water. I was able to rip a 0.15g WPA pack in 3 lung buster rips. Superrrr potent vapor! I was totally blown away :whoa:

I picked up a stash case from 420EDC that fits the Splinter, box mod, extra stems, a Jyarz classic and extra batteries. I plan to use the Splinter as my "out and about" vape. I brought it to the beach and it performed flawlessly. This evening I'll be putting it through the paces out on the golf course. Loving the small form factor on the Wismec RX 2/3 mod (in 2 battery configuration). Battery life is quite stellar so far. I can't wait to try it with 3 batteries in the mod... it should last a full, heavy weekend on fresh cells!

These are just my initial thoughts after 1.5 days of usage. I only have about 20 stems through the Splinter so far but I can confidently say that it will be a mainstay in my current rotation.

Thanks @Summer!

Im trying to work out if the international waitlist is being sorted by Vapefiend or directly from RBT. Just kind of unsure as to what is happening i guess. Wasn't sure if those shipments were for waitlist too, or just general stock.

@Hogni This is it, although im EU, not all international orders will be, so its an interesting logistical issue.

@Summer Aye, i could contact him direct, but i figure he has his hands full, so i just wanted to see if anyone else had been contacted yet. Happy to continue waiting as long as i know where i stand/ havn't already missed the bus as it were.

I've sent Ryan some mails the last weeks w/o any reply. Therefore I don't see much sense in doing so.
But I've to know it. I'm ok with shipment by Vapefiend if there is no additional customs otherwise I'd prefer to let it send to my US adressee and let it bring along by my US courier sometime. I'm not in rush.

EDIT: I'm not very happy with Ryan's style of communication. He should send mails with important informations to his customers or publish a FAQ section at his site instead of forcing them to watch all the Instagram stuff. There are a lot of uncertain infos.

Got my Splinter & a cooling stem. 1st impression - it fucken rocks, already retired my dynavaps. Cooling stem definitely works well. Still dialing it in but at 34W I do 2-3 button presses & get nice big clouds & even browning. Thankyou @RastaBuddhaTao

As FC doesn't host, you have to post pictures and video via a public third party facility. I'm much less inclined.

It hits like a dream , really a big difference from the short stem. You don't feel the heat at all using it compared to it. I think I may like the short stem a drop better as I like being able to feel the vapor forming and a bit of heat and with the cooling stem it is almost non existent. Still have to get some more usage in with both to really pass judgment. I am roughly 8 bowls in so far using both equally.

Ryan did a heck of a job on his website upgrade, and he's successfully transitioned a hobbyish project to a full scale production line. He's always said he doesn't want to do intensive customer service, preferring to leave that to retail front ends he's partnering with. You have the option of buying his products that way, instead.

I view purchasing from Ryan direct as an invitation to participate at the wholesaler level, at the late beta stage. With all the pluses and minuses that entails ... definitely more pluses than minuses for me personally.

Looks like I'm the one idiot here that can't figure out what everyone else seems to with ease. Sigh

I am attempting to use this with an Evic VTC mini. Up to now I have zero experience with these boxes.
I tried setting it to some of the wattage people were listing here. I hit the little button, let it heat up for 9 seconds, hit the button again and start my draw. I've tried variations of this, longer heat up, shorter heat up, less watts, more watts, different battery. Out of 10 times packing the short stem or the special stem with the indentions in it I have achieved vapor on roughly 4 draws. Those times the vapor was there but wispy. Repeated the same steps, no vapor. I am getting flavor at times. It hasn't been good flavor like I'd experience with the Mighty or the Fury 2.
The glass stem is definitely getting hot. The herb is green or sometimes about as brown as what you would see if you emptied your dynavap after one drag.
I thought maybe I should hook the Evic to my computer and try putting in software from FJ. My computer doesn't see the unit.
I am using ground dry herb at about a medium/fine grind.

So many people are loving this device that I know it is 100% me. This makes me very nervous about the Tuboevic I ordered since it will be similar. It is likely I have some setting wrong on the device itself but wouldn't know which.

I need to be able to demonstrate this device to others in a few days and can't. Help?

My gosh, "take it or leave it" or what do you want to say? :uhh:

I didn't offend Ryan in any way. But he IS selling to end customers. Period. And I ordered at HIM months ago. So it would be nice to get some more informations without crawling through all social medias that's all I've said. And for sure he is starting a new buisiness with a damned lot of work what I absolutely understand.
But there is no reason to praise the lord.

Got mine on Saturday. Very impressed. Running it on a lost vape therion at 30 watts and 420 degrees. If I do a lose pack I can suck down a bowl in 3 hits with no stirring. The heat is very even. The clouds, flavor and effect are all top notch. My new daily driver.

Looking forward to splinter z!

It's here! Opened it up to gawk. I'll be running it on a Evic Primo. Two fresh batts, loaded and ready to rock. Is there anything at all that would seem impossible to fuck up, that I will? Any last minute starting out pointers/tips? Can it be as easy starting out as setting a wattage and ripping one out, with time to dial it in over time? I just don't want to fuck it up. I've been looking forward to this for awhile. Thanks!

Not much to fuck up. Start around 25 watts to be safe. Seems most are vaping in the 30watt range. Since some mods wattage might not be right. It better better start low wattage. Expect's a odd new taste smell first couple of stems. Burnoff might not be bad ideal.

Paired up nice with the new mod. Getting more even avb than before. Spent some time with dna software and really enjoying the amount of options it offers.

The dna 250 is way more than really needed. With the dna250 color chip out I got a decent deal. So can't complain. Plus for me it's kinda fun item to mess around with. I really enjoyed setting up mod in device monitor.

Been running 40w preheat for 1.8 seconds then 30 watts with 430 heat protection.

My Splinter arrived today, haven't spent much time with it but I'm already loving it. In Power mode 26w gives me a great flavor hit. Great hits 27-29w, haven't tried higher yet. It works well in TCR mode. With tcr=260, watts=36 and temps from 380F to 400F I get very nice hits with good clouds.

It hits like a dream , really a big difference from the short stem.
So the Splinter is suppose to come with two sizes of stems? Mine came with two of what's in the pic.

Forgot to mention, I did 6-8 10 sec burn-offs, initial smell was pretty bad.
