Calm Consistency
Curious how well you think the Stempod does the "unregulated thing" like a Milaana or Lil' Bud.
Not really sure, depends on the temp of the unregulated device but I'm sure it would work fine!

At this point I'm really leaning towards pre-ordering the Stempod. I just need a little "nudge" before I click the "order" button. The more I read on this thread the closer I get...
*nudge nudge*

I am unable to find out what the female joint is made of (inside stempod), is it glass?

Just a rudimentary answer till @supershredderdan, @AJS or @Other Side weigh in. It's a stainless steel cartridge, there is no insert. 18mm glass will fit. There is groove inside for a removable o-ring that will secure your glass should you decide to use it -- holds "super"-securely like a metal bong keck clip would. Check out the www.modpodlabs.com page for pics. Have you seen the 3 vids put up by AJS on his instagram page:

Thank you @Summer , no glass is definitely appealing to my (sometimes) dumb hands

@Andreardna, in both AJS & Dan's IG livestreams, it was so cool to see that with the o-ring inserted that you can hold the mod up by the stem & upside down & it doesn't separate. But you have the option to remove the o-ring & use it on a bubbler with an adapter or insert an 14 - 18mm adapter & use a 14mm stem. It's really rather ingenious.

Count me in...I decided going to jump onboard at the preorder price. Don't really need another vape but like the ideal of tinkering with it. Plus like to help contribute money/feedback towards other members businesses here on FC.

Decided to pick up a dna 250 box mod for my new splinter. It looks like you are working on special firmware for the box mods with steampod? New to box mod e-cig world. I should be able to set up a dna profile up match those firmware settings? Our would it be better to pick up a different box mod for this?

What is the resistance of the coil for the Stempod?
the included notch coils are .12-.14 ohms

a DNA mod will be super accurate, but may lack some of the features from the tubo evic software such as double click to cruise and extended cut off time (rather than 10 or 15 seconds)

Looks like I will have a couple months to think about it. More than likely I will just picked up a cheap box on eBay to mess around with the custom firmware. The 3 battery dna mod box going be kinda big for out an about too. Might just keep the splinter on it.

How does one actually place a pre-order? I don't see much on the website except email signup, which I've done.

I've ordered a pico dual 18650 from fast tech. Found a video that shows it fitting a 26mm mod so it should fit fine i think. Does anyone have feedback on what battery usage has been like?

Does anyone know how to buy accessories, extra stems?

Where is ModPod labs located?

How long after the pre-order deadline will the units ship?

If there is a possibility of purchasing extra coils? I would like to have an extra on hand so I can avoid the high international postage.

a few accessories will be available shortly after the new website goes live

we are based in North Carolina

Not entirely sure yet, by the 5th we should have everything except for packaging which is in production right now. We should be able to fill all pre orders by the end of July.

Yes, we will be offering replacement coils, make a note in your order and ill send you an extra set or two

Any ideals on some good site's for info on making coils etc. New so little overwealmed by all the terms etc.

Looks like can either buy wire and make them yourself, or buy premade one's?

Was looking on eBay just wondering would some of prebuilt coils be the best option for a newbie?

Figure might take while to get here was thinking something like this be a good start for someone new?

It’s cool that users have the option of using coils of their choice, but I just don’t have an adequate understanding of the issues involved in selecting a coil, and no real interest in learning. Of course, that could change over time, but for now I’ll just be glad somebody has done it for me.

Still gotta pick a box mod. Fortunately, there’s plenty of input from FC members to help me with that. I appreciate this site more all the time.

Do me a favor & do a search on the Kepler heat sink problems. When I was perusing heat sinks yesterday, I read a vaping forum where one guy had a problem with it. I believe it shorted out his mod. Anyway, don't quote me, but look for yourself to be on the safe side.

Edited to add link:

https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/3ij6lt/kepler_finned_heat_sinks_warning/
I actually read that exact post on reddit before I purchased. I noted it was from 2013, so I think if there were significant issues with the Kepler there would have been a lot more reports in the last 5 years.

And thanks for the nudge @AJS. I just put the heat sink on my Pico 75W and it should definitely do the trick for allowing me to use the Stempod with my box mod. I plan to place my pre-order soon!

@HerbieVonVapster - I'm pretty new to box mods myself. I actually bought mine to mess around with my old Thermovape Evolution carts, then I found this thread. The Evolution didn't work any better on my box mod then it did on the Thermovape power supply (either no vapor or immediate combustion), so I gave it up (actually burned out my SV Evo messing around with it). I don't vape ejuice at all, so I bought my box mod just for cannabis. I also found ArcticFox firmware, which is compatible with the Pico 75W. It offers a lot of features that the stock firmware does not. You might want to check it out.

Weird both the dart and evolution work great on a dna 40. I run dart at 10 watts and evolution at 20watts. My freind likes it a lot. I might grab another hana modz if I can locate another evolution for it. May I ask what mod you used? Only thing can think of is maybe mod was sending too much wattage.

Really for $10 bucks for the dna 40 mods I'm really happy with the way it works with these old thermovape carts. It's my new fishing vape if gets wet only out 10 bucks :)
