Handy tips for the vaporist lifestyle (Carry a spare key)...

Here's one that can save a bit of hassle -
Keep a spare car key in your wallet. I accidentally locked my car with the key on the seat last week and because of this precaution it was zero hassle.

Locked out story:
I put an 8-track in my first car and started locking it. Well not 'my' car... So, You don't bust a window on Mom's classic '64 VeeWee. That was one heck of a walk home from the county fair, and the ride to open it up in the morning was a lifelong memory. A 7 mile walk wasn't punishment enough...

There's a sinking feeling when the door clicks and you realize... OH crappp !

And another bit of advice, if you ever decide to break a window... Ask which one is the cheapest, it might not be the smallest, or one you think.

and you never get all the little bits of glass out of the car no matter how much you vacuum - been there.....

think of it like this - you may leave your keys inside your car but you probably never leave your wallet in your car.
a duplicate in one of the wallet pockets is a prized possession, plus instant resolution will have you beaming all day thinking about how smart and
forward thinking you are.

being sufficiently obsessive-compulsive i ALWAYS lock the door with the key ... well, ever since that time at the high school dance when my dad had to drive the 20 miles to unlock the door.

Some new keys are pretty bulky. Old flat brass style keys can be duped in plastic in a credit card design, flat and rectangular in the wallet, punch out the pre-cut key in an emergency. Not sure if the still make them but it was a flat and practical solution.

Purple-Days,
That's why I love the new proximity keys. Just gotta have it in your pocket.
Impossible to lock oneself out.

I couldn't carry a spare key around - it'd make my wallet too thick, and I prefer to keep it as thin as possible. Actually half the time I use a money clip.

But I could see where using a magnetic box under the car or similarly somewhere you can access (behind the gas door, or duck-taped to behind the license plate?) could be useful.

Derf,
Yep, great idea, because I do it as well. Has saved me once or twice. One of the most memorable times I locked my keys in the car, was when I was at the post office, and I parked and filled out the address to one of the letters I was mailing. I got out of the car to put it in the mailbox, and when I got back I realized that I had locked my keys in my still running car. I went and leaned up against a railing next to my car and lit a cigarette to stop myself from freakin' out. I guess I looked really worried, because the next thing I knew a guy comes up to me and asks me if anything was wrong. I looked at him and told him my keys were locked in my car. He then says, "Lucky you," and explains that he happens to be a locksmith, and I look over and see his work van parked right next to my car. He got me out in about a minute, and I offered him some money, but he said it was too much of a coincidence for him to take it. Lucky me.

Haven't locked myself out in years. The last time it happened, I was in my twenties and out with a girlfriend. We had been indulging; out driving around on our lunch hour; sunroof open in the VW. We stopped to get some lunch and discovered the car was locked on our return with my baggie full and pipe right out in plain view. Some of Royal Oak's finest (for you Michiganders; you know how seriously R.O. cops take their business) pulled up and started flirting with us. They opened the car and didn't say a thing about anything they might have seen. I was flipping out thinking I'd be seeing the inside of one of R.O.'s jails. I'm sure if the situation happened now, I wouldn't get off so easy. Oh to be young, slim and pretty again!

mom - you might need to BOLD years :p

Locking yourself out of a VW... that must be pre 1990's. I still rock a 95 jetta and it comes with 2 keys
1-ignition only
1-door only
- so you can not lock the door with out the key in your hand.

Have a 05 GTI too - electric key so same thing, can't lock yourself in.

ill let you slide though ;)

#1 rule for Tom; never put a pile of kief on the palm rest of your Macbook Pro just because it's a big flat surface. Eventually the pile will seem to vanish because you've just smushed it all over the place.

It just happened by the way. and I have to laugh (it's all I can do anyways).

Really though, what I try to do before I get vaped is to compensate for my known shortcomings; write things down, have healthy snacks available, get important things done first and make sure my animals have been taken care of (fed, watered, taken for walks, etc). I also hide my credit card (I've purchased so many books from Amazon when vaped) and MJ edibles (my Doomsday scenario is getting the munchies and eating an absurd amount of edibles).

I have never locked myself out of a car but my manager at work did once. He left the car running and locked all of the doors. He freaked out for about an hour and finally called the police. When the cops got there, they all laughed really hard then told him to climb in through the sunroof. It was open all along!

Proof that you don't have to smoke pot to do stupid shit.

Where is the story with someone who has the key chain starter, warmed their car up, then got baked and forgot their car was running?

What's Going On?
Sorry Flyer a bit challenging to follow there . But I'll just chalk it up to myself :p.

I haven't locked myself out of my car, **knock on wood**, but my teammate from basketball did. He listened to music before practice everyday, got out with the key in the ignition and locked. Car died while at practice cause our coach wouldn't let him call his mom. Then after practice his parents were pissed and had to come down and jump the car.
