I tried out James E Wagner Cultivation to see how it was. Nothing spectacular, but not bad. Just your average mids.

It's ok, but its bothering me that 4 years after the rules were setup we still dont have a single LP selling top shelf/quads separated from the popcorn, and not many LPs pricing their products with a reasonable price.

October 17, 2018 the general public will get to try LPs and see what we've been complaining about for the last 4 years.

I really miss the high quality meds :( my symptom relief is not as good as it had been with CALM and the like.

Wish I didnt have to squish everything into rosin to get some potency.

I got a couple more strains from Aurora since last post and am again impressed and happy with what I got, woohoo! I got some blue dream and some ghost train haze, theyre both solid, and have incredibly powerful and distinct aromas.

The ghost train haze I will say is a little fluffier than I remember, but its really good regardless. I noticed they have a new strain up in their shop, I would like to try it, zombie kush. Its got lowish numbers for THC but high numbers for terpenes. Ive been rocked by stuff that was >10% and had stuff that was 29% apparently that got me high but not as high as expected. So the numbers arent always entirely relevant to the effects of the bud, although they are generally a good guideline.

Anyway back to the zombie kush, its a strain i havent heard of much but would love to try, cant order till the 26 haha. Its got a good parental line for the genetics, strains that I like quite a bit, plus I love that classic kush taste and smell so much. I dont see it running out though since its low %thc number haha. I thought at first it was gonna be from a different LP since they never had it in their growing or harvested section, I may call to double check before I make a order since every single time I order stuff they "thoughtfully curated" from a different LP its garbage.

Just thought I would chime in with more of my recent experiences, honestly at this point I am pretty happy and hopeful for the future. Things are going in the right direction, and it looks like its set to continue in that manner. As more and more of the new facilities become operational, we will see dramatic increases in the diversity of product lines I believe, which I look forward to.

Hope others are having positive experiences with their LPs aswell, its about time!
I really like the following strains from Aurora:
- Ghost Train Haze
- '91 Krypt OG Melon
- '91 Krypt OG Chemdawg
- Blue Dream

They are all great rosin producers (~25%) and all have great flavor and aroma. The Ghost Train Haze, followed up by the Melon are my favourites ... both for rosin and for flower ..

In regards to the last batch of Ghost Train Haze being a little fluffy, I agree ... this is the fluffiest I've seen it, but still >20% THC and still yielding ~25% return for rosin. (The last batch of Ghost Train Haze I got was really, really nice, not as fluffy, and ~23% THC, and would yield ~28-29% avg for rosin). In other words, yes it's a little fluffy, but the quality is still superb. It's potent, it's clean, and the aroma is great. It's not gamma irradiated, nor is it electron beam sterilized, and their are no pesticides used. These things are important to me and I do feel make a difference. Is this the best cannabis I've ever had? Definitely not, but I prefer it to almost all current Broken Coast strains (I do like their Sour OG, but the last couple times I've ordered it, it hasn't been as good, and the price on it is now insane! -- 10.25 or 10.75 ... can't remember and they are out of stock ...)

It's good, and the quality has been consistent for me and I've been ordering from them almost exclusively for the last 6 months (about 60-70% Ghost Train Haze which I like as my primary medication ... superb aroma, and produces great rosin too)

There is not a single online dispensary that I have ordered from (LP or Dispensary), nor brick and mortar dispensary that also does online business, that has on avg had as good quality as what I've received from Aurora so far in 2018. Every dispensary or LP I've purchased from in the last 7 years, they've all at times sold me sub-par product, and have all had a horrible time carrying any consistent products with consistent quality ... might be good for a couple months, then you're fucked ... I inevitably and up stuck with ounces of cannabis I don't want ... this is what I'm trying to avoid and so far so good w/ Aurora.

That being said, their customer service is absolutely 100% horrible; every time I have a real question I get a politician's answer back (ie. no answer at all).

Here's their track record:

1st real question: "It says on your site that the Broken Coast Sour OG that your are carrying isn't gamma irradiated, and meets all the same standards as you have for your cannabis. So this begs the question, is for some reason the Sour OG you have from BC not electron beam sterilized as they e-beam sterilize all their products, or is it that your products are also e-beam sterilized perhaps? since it only explicitly states something about gamma irradiation on your site?"

It took me about a month, and many, many e-mails (maybe 5-10?), most that got radio silence, before I got an answer, which was no answer at all. The answer they provided was:
1. Their cannabis is definitely not e-beam sterilized.
2. I would have to ask Broken Coast if the Sour OG is e-beam sterilized or not. In other words they are blatantly lying about the partner products following the same standards (ie. no gamma irradiation/e-beam sterilization/pesticides/etc) that their products do.

2nd real question: "Your Ghost Train Haze has been in the 'Harvested' section for quite some time, and I've been checking multiple times per day, as my supply is getting low. If I don't order soon, I will run out of product. This is my primary medicine and need to know if I need to figure out alternate arrangements as I've been waiting for weeks now. Any type of estimate or ETA would be helpful so I can plan accordingly."

They responded that they basically had no clue and could provide absolutely no information at all as to potential future product availability. I told them this was not true as in fact their web site does provide some estimates as they do have stuff listed in "harvested" and "growing". I also insisted that their must be someone in the company that they could follow up with, that would know where in the process of curing/testing/packaging the product was, which would help me greatly. The fact that they were telling me that they couldn't get me this information was disingenuous at best, a more honest answer would be that they are unwilling to do the work to get me the information or that some policy absolutely forbids them from providing it to me (which I doubt) ... ie. they are too lazy or the lowest common denominator on the phone just can't think his way out of a fucking cardboard box ...

The end to the back-and-forth was basically that they were "sorry they couldn't help me and any inconvenience it might cause me." What a fucking joke.

In other words, so far Aurora's product has been good, but if you have a real question you want answered, don't even bother wasting your time contacting them; they don't care enough to actually try to find you an answer.

October 17 shall be a interesting day for sure, haha. I do think that some of the LPs prices are absolutely ridiculous, highway robbery.

@JCat I really couldnt agree more with you about Auroras strengths and weaknesses, their customer service is definitely terrible and youre spot on with your description of "politician answers" that really hits home for me. Ive had similar experiences and they were handled in exactly the same manner. Ive come to the conclusion its best to not order anything from them that they havent grown themselves.

The most recent batch of ghost train haze is definitely still great, and I have to agree its some of my favorite from them aswell. Ive not yet tried the 91 Krypt og chemdawg, but the melon is really nice I just got to try it finally on most recent batch, I like it basically as much as the ghost train haze. The LA confidential is another one I also like alot, I got some of the last batch the 20% THC stuff, its delicious. The blue dream is great I got some of the recent batch aswell and Im satisfied with it, its also quite delicious.

Going to continue to order from them aswell, I might try ordering from Seven Star since Ive had their shatter and budder and its always pretty good. Gotta get some more concentrates soon and Im just too busy to make my own right now.

Hopefully Aurora will one day get their customer service to a point where its useful, although I wont hold my breath for that. That said I hope they continue with the trend of quality that they have going currently. Nice to see things going in a positive direction.

Just curious, does the Aurora Ghost Train Haze have that signature balmy smell to it that haze is known for?

I got dela haze from Emblem last year and it was actually very nice and hazey with lots of flavour. Then they started irradiating everything so I left.

THC biomed just restocked a bunch of strains, I ordered their dela haze and cheese to try them out. So far, their Jacky White strain I got from them was really tasty, very close to the old juicy fruit cut actually, but very much mids.

The general public is in for quite the surprise when they see sealed 5gram increment containers with unrecognizable strain names from a majority of companies.
No one will be able to answer if they have "dank", "fire", or "quads" available. It's going to be a giant culture shock even for those buying illegally. You cant get a "quarter", "half-quad" or "o" either.

The edible oil will be quite the surprise as well, and the news keeps insisting there will be no edibles while simultaneously reporting cannabis, seeds, clones and oil will be for sale. that oil is the 3% thc max ACMPR edible oil.

I would say it is very "hazey", a very good representation of that signature haze smell, with some pretty solid potency behind it. I find it quite uplifting and like it as a daytime med, although paired with a good indica it wont keep me up at night but on its own I need a hour or two before bed.

The irradiating and E-beam sterilization is unfortunate for sure, and I think its a practice that needs to stop being so commonplace and widespread for most LPs. I get that there are groups of people who have immune deficiencies and Im all for them getting medicine that is ok for them, however the practice is one that can be avoided when proper measures are taken and making a choice to opt for sterilizing the bud after growing it in my mind shows laziness.

I agree that the stuff Ive had that has been put through either of these processes is never as good as it would have otherwise been. I have some stuff from Tilray that I like still, and its not terrible but it would have been alot better if it wasnt irradiated. I find alot of their stuff just has the same standard aroma to it, not much difference between strains since the terpenes that gave the strains their characteristic aromas are now gone or only present in extremely small quantities. I do have some Warlock CBD from them that is surprisingly still pretty aromatic, its probably my favorite of everything I have tried from Tilray.

Yeah there will be a bit of a shock for a lot of people Im sure youre right, the early stages of the market and its consumers will be interesting to say the least. It is going to take some time for the legal side to catch up to the recent innovations from both the underground markets and the legal states. I cant wait to be able to just grab some caviar or THC sauce to try it out.

Ive only had one experience with the edible oil and it was not good, I spilled pretty much the entire bottle when opening it for the first time and it was a sad sight to behold. The remaining tiny bit didnt do much for me, personally Id rather just make my own oil since the cost of the premade stuff is ridiculous.

My prescription will allow me to order more on the 26th, Ill try to get some of the zombie kush from Aurora and report back how I feel about it. Currently I am optimistic with how things are going, they are far from perfect however they are going in the right direction. More research with some real funding can start to be done soon and I think that will hold a lot of value for patients. Hopefully the government gets things sorted out and doesnt decide to bunch the recreational and medical markets together tax wise as they plan to, as that is wrong in my eyes.

The only place I have to disagree on the edible oil being ridiculously expensive is the THC oil from Broken Coast. @ $50 for 30mL of ~27mg THC. This would be equivalent to ~16% THC cannabis where 100% extraction of the THC was extracted and none was lost. This really is quite reasonable and about 1/2 the cost of the average from my experience (actually at this price I'm not sure it's worth my time to make it ... this is reflective of 5g of dried flower, which costs $45 from an LP ... so ... pretty much free conversion of flower to edible oil in this equation ...)

That certainly is reasonable, at that price it is not so hard a pill to swallow. Aurora is charging $95 for a 30ml bottle of the same potency, but oddly enough they count it as 6 grams of dried flower towards the prescription, odd. If they were to price it more like Broken Coast Id consider trying it out, however at these prices I just dont see me giving it a go anytime soon. Ive never found that I get as much from edibles as I should, I believe that my digestive system has a hard time with THC, digesting and absorbing it seems to be difficult for me.

So you have a prescription split with Aurora and Broken Coast then?

I made a order with Seven Star the other day, eagerly awaiting the pink kush and black glue shatters to try out in my new E nail.

Yes ... my prescription is split between Broken Coast, Aurora, and Tweed (although I've only ever placed one order with Tweed as it was absolute crap)

I agree $95 for 30mL is insane! At that price I'll make my own edible oil (for 1/2 the cost!) @ $50 though ... that's definitely better value when you account for the labour ... I'm definitely willing to pay a $5-$10 premium per 5g quantity converted to edible :)

I don't do super well with edibles either, but they work somewhat, and can be convenient on vacations and whatnot when it's really not convenient to find somewhere to vape (or when I have to travel down South for work)

Right on, was just curious. I used to have my prescription split between Aurora and Tilray but I just went back to having it with just Aurora last time I renewed since I can still get Tilray stuff through family members if I want any of their stuff.

Yeah $95 for 30 ml is way too steep for me, if I had it available for $50 I would certainly consider getting some to have on hand. You raise great points about the merits of edibles when needed in certain situations even for those who dont get as much from them as others.

Found a friend who will go in on a variety pack from Seven Star with me, its just such a good deal too good to pass up! Going to get a 14g variety pack of shatter next pay day, and will work out in the end with me paying $110 for 7g of shatter, woohoo!

Geeze, Im starting to feel like a LP fanboy or something because here I am with another positive thing to say about Aurora (or at least their product). I ended up waiting a couple extra days to order just decided I might as well, and Im glad I did since they added some sour tangie to their offerings on the 27th! I wont lie, I had heard all the hype about tangie this and tangie that and it got me wanting to try it. I know the sour tangie isnt the exact representation, but it really makes me wanna try tangie and appreciate what it has to offer.

I got my 5g pack of sour tangie last night along with 10g of cannatonic and as is becoming the norm Im thoroughly satisfied with my order. The sour tangie is honestly pretty good, and really does smell of tangerines, its remarkable! I found it to be a uplifting high, and am going to have to give it some more testing today to fully decide but after my first couple puffs I decided its a winner. It has convinced me that down the road, I will certainly be paying the exorbitant (though in the end potentially worth it) cost for some tangie seeds.

Anyway, I know how its starting to sound with the endless good to say and obviously things arent perfect but they are moving in the right direction I am convinced. I put in a order for another 5g of tangie and 5g of the zombie kush that I was talking about earlier, tangie won out since I knew it would go fast. I got the last packaged 5g pack today, although they are restocking a bit more if you like the ghost train haze you might like the sour tangie too @JCat hop on it today/tomorrow before its gone!

I got 20g of the sour tangie too ... and it's great! Make's great rosin too w/ ~25% yields :)

On another note, I had another horrible experience w/ Aurora customer service ... their "Coming Soon" board went from having stuff I wanted, to being blank, to having nothing I wanted; this would mean according to their site that they would have no products to suit my needs for 2-3 months at least unless something was amiss. I created a support ticket and they responded/closed it saying that they can offer no predictions whatsoever as to product availability and were sorry they couldn't be of more assistance! Wow! (even though I expressed that I really needed some guidance in order to plan accordingly, as I depend on this for my medicine) Typical Aurora response.

Anyways, when I responded saying that it was absolutely not helpful, they responded that I should call. I called, and actually got someone useful on the phone! She was in fact great, and very informative. She informed me that when stuff comes off the "Coming Soon" board, it generally means it's in the final stages of lab testing, and will be available within days (maybe a week?) from then; and in fact the board would be updated soon and was currently not accurate due to this. She also answered one of my previous questions, and indicated that she was wondering the same thing: "Why they are advertising 3rd party products as being 100% pesticide and gamma irradiation free just like theirs" when it's not ... for example Broken Coast electron beam sterilizes all it's products, so anything from BC at Aurora, has been electron beam sterilized. She said she had already inquired about this, and was looking into getting it corrected.

Anyways, the phone support this time was excellent; the prior times I've called or opened online tickets the support has been horrendous. Hopefully this is a sign that things will be getting better in this regard :)

Decided to order another 10g after sampling some more this afternoon haha, it certainly is great! I really like this stuff. It is so tasty in the EQ I am looking forward to trying it in the solo2 later will start low and get a good hit of the flavour. I would absolutely love to try regular tangie, and other tangie crosses, will definitely get some seeds in the future.

Thats unfortunate about your experiences with their customer service, I have had similar experiences in the past. I also have issues with their coming soon section as the growing and harvested sections arent indicative of almost anything it seems most of the time. And these new strains the sour tangie and the zombie kush for example at no point were ever in their growing or harvested section which I find odd. I guess they are trying to "surprise" us with new stuff perhaps but its still weird.

Thats good that at least you finally got someone who was helpful and was on the same level when it comes to those obvious inaccuracies. That whole bit you observed with the e beam sterilization of stuff from Broken Coast is shady and Im happy to hear you were told it was concerning to the person you spoke with at least. I agree that it is important for the LPs to be accurate with their descriptions and transparent with their practices.

Hopefully they work on their customer service and get more people giving useful answers and being actually helpful. I was a little ticked off when I ordered on the 28th early in the morning and they didnt ship it till Tuesday, just would have expected them to do the orders from the morning before taking off for four days. It didnt really effect me too much since I ordered a lot of stuff last month and have quite a supply built up thankfully but I did almost run out of cannatonic. Will report back when I get the zombie kush on its quality, looking forward to it I like having indicas for the last session of the day or when pain is bad.
