Multi-brand HEALTHY RIPS FURY

I use it until it starts getting low, then I charge it. When it's done charging I use it again. Rinse and repeat.

Sounds like a 'battery friendly' routine to me. Just think, by immediately enjoying a load you don't leave it sitting fully charged......sometimes personal sacrifices must be made in the common good.....

Good plan, easy to remember. Clever even. No, make that 'diabolical'.......

I was initially put off the F2 because of the lack of user replaceable batteries. I then thought the unit costs about the same as 2 pouches of tobacco (which I do not have to purchase anymore) and could be replaced at half price (1 pack of tobacco) when it shits itself. So at this price point I do not worry about battery life, I just hammer it all day every day and leave it on the charger overnight as it is usually near flat when I go to bed.
I even put it on the charger between hits to make it last longer, my only concession to extend the battery life is to try to never hit the Low Battery symbol with auto shut off, I usually still have 1 bar left when I put it on the charger. It would be nice to know exactly how low the battery is when this failsafe activates, is it so low it will eventually cause premature battery failure or has HR left a bit of room for it`s health?
I might have to rotate my Arizer Air batteries after reading a few of the above comments, I was keeping my VT6 Sony and HG2 spares fully charged ready for camping :disgust:.

The important thing is to enjoy it not fuss over it?
Good advice that

Perhaps as a “before”-thought, @HealthyRips.com might have an auto shutoff switch toggled before complete battery depletion, to preserve the battery. A nice user friendly feature :ko::tup::nod::p

They do, of course, as do 'all' the others? As Mayson said to Dixon, 'just draw the line.....'. They decide when to shut down. This is known as 'depth of discharge', sometimes 'DOD' in geek circles. But remember, every .1 Volt means a 10% change in useful capacity. How do you think Sales feels about harder to sell lower run time numbers and longer times before customers come back for more? If they get too conservative with it, the competition will steal the customers......we being so addicted to numbers.

FWIW, they could easily cut 10% of to top of the charge, four minutes run time, and DOUBLE the cycle life of the battery. This is covered in the BU stuff. A 10% drop doubles Li-ion cycle life. From say 300 to 600. Pretty useful, IMO. Drop it another 10% and it doubles again! 1200 cycles at 80% of the former 300?

But 300 is enough to get it out of warranty..... They don't charge to 4.3 Volts since that would no doubt cause too many returns (very expensive, each one 'wipes out the profit' from a bunch of new sales).

Not that HR is alone in this. In fact, LiPo cells like we have here 'die on their own' in a few years anyway. But the idea is so common, that is makers want to push the limits, that NOBODY (I could find) makes a charge controller for commercial Li cells that doesn't push 4.2 Volts (typical 4.15 to 4.25) since they couldn't sell it to anyone...... There are competitive ICs to do this, of course, but they all use that 'right to the wall' number. Except the military, which often demands a 3.95 Volt charge limit. Knowing it will cut run time 20% but in exchange give service life in the field to match the unit (no replacements with the bad guys shooting at you). The only 'off the shelf' IC I could find was a mil spec part that costs more than a F2 and took 6 weeks for delivery. So I built this, originally for Solo:
sz6tVDv.jpg

At the top is a little computer and other parts that control the 12VDC to the unit. When you push the button charging starts as the unit watches the current. You'll note from the BU stuff that the charge current starts to cut back as the cell reaches full voltage? Shifts from constant current to constant voltage mode, reducing the current to stay 'under the line'? My Gadget senses that and at a point set by the adjustment above the go button, cuts the charge off about 20 minutes early and runs the beeper to wake you up. Faster charges (the last bit is slow.....) and longer battery life.

The part below reduces the 12VDC for units like Ascent, the big FMs and others that charge at 9 Volts instead.

So that's my take, they could easily make it work.....if they were so inclined. But universally (?) they opt to be competitive and 'use logic'. Sales logic.

Hi All, Great battery discussions! FYI - you can find our battery information along with other useful information on our website's Health & Safety page: https://www.healthyrips.com/health.html
Here are the battery protections that are built into all of our vaporizers: Low voltage protection, Over voltage protection, Over current protection, Short circuit protection, Open circuit protection, Overheat protection, Reset protection, Lithium Polymer battery overcharge & over-discharge protection.

We also wanted to catch you all up with our latest developments:
Dosing Capsules: Will be back in stock and available for sale by mid next week.
FIERCE Vaporizer: We are currently testing our last 'engineered unit' before we go into full production. We could not be happier with the performance during this final testing stage - the functionality, vapor quality and battery life continue to blow us away. We will make an announcement soon regarding the release date and pre-sale order opportunities.

Have an amazing day!

Thanks for the update, now I can stop refreshing your webpage for a few days.

One question please, I know it's $15 international shipping for the Fury ect, but is it still so much shipping if I only order capsules? To the UK if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the update HR.
Any chance of posting a youtube video of one of you taking a few healthy rips off the Fierce prototype? Maybe a few glimpses of how it operates/loads?

Hi, We did a lot of testing on the FIERCE over the last two days - we will do our best to get a video created and posted over the next couple of days :)

All the Best!

Healthy Rips, I plan on ordering a F2, but, I'd like the dosing caps also. Any ideas when inventory will be back in stock?

We took a run with the dosing caps last evening and won't be using them. I prefer the performance of the bare Fury 2 bowl which is also the reason I don't use the glass with it either.

For me the vapor production and feel is so much better in the Fury 2 and a bare bowl filled with herb.

:2c:
Same here...... also i do not grind.
I like doing the least amount of faffing around.

You guys missed out. I've been checking the website every day multiple times for those caps since I switched to my Fury 2, two weeks ago. You could have skinned me for them, now I already got a shipping discount so I got to get them from HR or it'd be rude :p

OK, since no one else is whining about the Fury2, I will. LOL

It is probably the most well thought out, easiest to use, most efficient and affordable vape that I know. And, I think they have as good or better customer service than any manufacturer I have dealt with.

With that said, I would love to see a snap in mouthpiece like the standard one only with a small glass tube to place your lips on, instead of the 'mouth-shaped' mouthpiece that is standard.

I know they have a glass mouthpiece and I use mine often (at home). And, the bubbler and the WPA. However, none of those work for popping it in my pocket with some dosing caps and running off to do my thing. And, none of those work with the dosing caps. Well, actually I do use the bubbler with dosing caps. It is easy enough to hold the bubbler in place on top of the cap. The glass still fits in enough to make a tight seal. It just falls out of you let go. OK for home but unacceptable for travel.

If the standard mouthpiece just had a small, round, glass piece that would extend out just a hair, it would be perfect.

I have wanted this since I first got my Fury and it is the ONLY thing I can say is a downside for me.

In fact, I am going to order a couple of the standard mouthpieces and see if I can modify it as I have said. It doesn't look that hard but I'm not great with my hands and at 20 bux each, I can't afford too many prototypes. LOL

I was looking at a V5 Nano only because it has that nice round glass mouthpiece but I have read some bad reviews on the V5 so I am looking to modify my Fury (and the Fierce) instead.

Really love my Fury but, I just don't like the way it feels on my lips.

I believe the Fierce will be offered with a mouthpiece similar to the one you describe??
